Could your cat benefit from a therapy session?

Don't expect a leather couch in this therapist's office. Pet psychiatrists, or more appropriately termed "veterinary behaviorists," have popped up around the country offering services to improve even the most stubborn and undesirable of feline behaviors, creating happier homes for both cats and owners. However, many owners just don't know when or how to take that leap into the little-known, yet rapidly growing, world of feline behavior modification.

When to Go
"Aggression, fears, phobias, anxiety disorders and inappropriate elimination are problems that are treated through behavioral therapy," says veterinary behaviorist Kenneth Martin, of Veterinary Behavior Consultations, LLC in New Orleans.
