Siamese Cats

A Gift From Pakistan

Six Siamese cats start new lives in Texas.

To see them now, you might never guess they came from a war zone on the other side of the world; but six beautiful Siamese now call Texas home.

When we hear the latest news about Pakistan, we seldom think about cats. But a pair of pointed beauties wandered into the lives of two Texas National Guardsmen stationed in Pakistan. The Guardsmen began caring for the cats — Tom and Dolli — with the intention of taking them home. When they were transferred, the Guardsmen learned their new pets weren’t allowed to accompany them.

Before leaving, the Guardsmen handed Tom and Dolli over to a Pakistani carpenter who worked on the American base. The carpenter then gave the feline pair to his nephew, Asif Chaudrey, who likes cats.
