Open the front door to many cat owners’ homes, and they will usually rush to close it quickly behind you. It’s an age-old tale: The innate drive tempting some cats outside challenges most owners’ desire to keep their pets safely inside. Whenever a door opens, these cats attempt the five-second dash to freedom. A fun way to circumventing these sprinters, however, is to allow them to walk outside on your terms by training them to accept a harness and lead.
