“Why don’t we call the neighbors?” you suggest.
“That’s a great idea,” your mom says. “I’ll call the Whites, the Smiths and the Johnsons now.”
You pace the kitchen floor as you listen to your mom make the calls. At the end of each call you hear your mom say, “Well, thank you for your help anyway.”
