Most of us probably agree that in a perfect world, all cats would enjoy a safe, indoor life, and any outdoor time would be chaperoned carefully to prevent accident and injury. Sadly, ours is not a perfect world, and many cats are exposed to the potential dangers of outdoor life.
Joyce Devener and her adult daughter, Belinda Devino, share their Southern California home with several cats. Some of them fall squarely into the couch potato category, while others are best described as indoor-outdoor animals that insist upon some freedom. The uniquely named SeeAaTee (a playful spelling of C-A-T) belongs to the second category.
When SeeAaTee didn’t come home for a week, the two women didn’t think much of it. When that week stretched into two, and then a month, they feared the worst.
