Boredom Busters

A busy cat is a happy and healthy cat.

By Linda A. Odum

Many pet owners choose cats for their independence. Just give them food and a clean litterbox, and all is well, right? Not necessarily. Cats can get bored, and bored cats are not only unhappy cats, but they usually are unhealthy ones as well.

It’s All About Instinct
Think about cats’ natural instincts. They hunt for prey, keep watch for enemies and choose mates. Indoor/outdoor cats can explore these behaviors, but their health and safety are at risk from wild animals, cars, dogs, disease and other cats.
