The Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) recently received a Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) Muse Medallion for its documentary, “Cats Without a Home.” The 30-minute film follows six individuals’ activities as they care for and reduce the euthanasia of homeless cats in Santa Clara County. Viewers get a glimpse into the secret world of feral cats and see how shelter workers and communities handle homeless cat colonies.
The CWA presented Muse Medallion awards and Certificates of Excellence to winners in 35 writing and other media categories, including articles, columns, short stories, poetry, books, photography and video and audio tapes. The awards were presented at CWA’s annual conference Nov. 17-19 in San Mateo, Calif., in conjunction with the Cat Fanciers’ Association International Cat Show.
