Did you know that more cats and dogs will develop cancer this year than humans? The Animal Cancer Foundation estimates that six million cats and six million dogs are diagnosed with cancer each year, compared to 1.4 million people. To help fund research to find animal cancer cures and awareness, Pet4Pets is selling charity animal collars. Proceeds from the charity animal collars will go to the Animal Cancer Foundation.
The bright orange collars are designed to be worn by cats and dogs just as people wear rubber band-like bracelets to support good causes. At least $2 from each collar will help fund clinical research. Collars are available at pet supply stores and at the Pet4Pet website.
“We want to do all we can for our pets just as we do with the challenge of cancer in people,” says Gerald Post, a veterinary oncologist and head of the Animal Cancer Foundation. “We have seen an outpouring of support from the pet industry for this mission.”
