Another Lebanese Cat Finds New Home

Cindy, the orange tabby rescued from the streets of Beirut by Best Friends Animal Society, goes to a new home in New Hampshire.

Cindy, a feline refugee from Lebanon, has found a new home in New Hampshire.
Cindy came to the United States a few months ago with nearly 300 other cats and dogs. She was living at a shelter run by Beirut for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and was one of the lucky animals transferred to Kanab, Utah, by the Best Friends Animal Society. Now, she has found a new home with Sheila and Walter Mansur of Hudson, N.H., just in time for the holidays.

The Mansurs say they plan to spoil their new cat, who reminds them of a beloved orange tabby they owned for 17 years. After living in the streets of Beirut, Cindy will enjoy the attention. She recently flew across country to join her new family and has settled in nicely.

Many of the cats and dogs rescued from Beirut are still available for adoption at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. For more information about adopting or sponsoring one of these animals, visit the Best Friends Animal Society website.

Any time a homeless animal finds a loving home I am delighted! I hope one day to visit Best Friends in Kanab and volunteer my services to the extraordinary organization that saves so many animals and provides loving care for them.

That is awesome that some of these cats are finding their forever home but we have several no kill shelters here in the States that are overun and unable to take in any more animals. Our shelter used to be to pull animals from Animal Control when they were put on the list to be put down but we are now unable to take any more in and that is so sad.
