In honor of Spay Day USA that is Feb. 27, the Humane Society Silicon Valley has declared February “Spay/Neuter Month” and has slashed spay and neuter surgery fees by 50 percent throughout the month. Cats, dogs and rabbits can receive the necessary surgeries for the reduced price until Feb. 28.
Discount prices are as follows:
Male cat: $27.50
Female cat: $52.50
Male rabbit: $40
Female rabbit: $52.50
Male dog, less than 30 lb.: $47.50
Female dog, less than 30 lb.: $55
Male dog, 31-50 lb.: $52.50
Female dog, 31-50 lb.: $65
Male dog, 51-75 lb.: $57.50
Female dog, 51-75 lb.: $70
Male dog, 76-99 lb.: $62.50
Female dog, 76-99 lb.: $82.50
Shelter workers encourage pet owners to schedule an appointment, reminding owners that spaying and neutering can reduce a pet’s chance of developing reproductive cancers and can decrease aggression, roaming and marking behaviors.
