 Cat lovers can learn skills needed to volunteer with animal shelters. |
Animal welfare organizations throughout the state of Arizona invite animal lovers to attend the 2007 Arizona Animal Advocates Volunteer Conference, held Feb. 24-25 at the Crown Plaza Hotel and Resort at the Phoenix Airport. Participating animal shelters include the Arizona Animal Welfare League, Arizona Humane Society, Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, and Second Chance Center for Animals.
Arizona’s animal welfare organizations hope to attract new volunteers with this conference, providing them with the skills and information necessary to help homeless cats and dogs throughout the state. Conference attendees will receive training and learn from seasoned animal welfare professionals. Sessions at the conference include:

- Animal Welfare and Law
- Tips for Sustaining Personal Resilience in Animal Welfare
- Shelter Medicine
- Cat and Dog Behavior
