Cat Drowning

Reward Offered in Cat Drowning Case

Roxbury, N.J., animal cruelty investigators seek information about the person responsible for drowning a cat in a pond last month.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information about a person respondible for drowning a cat.
Animal cruelty investigators in Roxbury, N.J., are seeking information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for drowning a cat in an area pond last month. The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for such information.

On December 20, a parks and recreation worker found a bag floating in a pond in Roxbury. When he removed the bag from the pond, he discovered the body of a male cat, approximately 7 years old. The condition of the bag leads animal cruelty investigators to believe the cat tried to free himself before drowning.

If you have any information about this incident, contact Roxbury Animal Cruelty Investigator Tara Pellegrino at (973) 584-4372.

How pathetic can a person be to commit such a disgusting, inhumane act? I sincerely hope that someone will come forward in the area who knows something about this incident. Usually someone who does these things will tell someone else about it, as if to brag! Believe me, there are a lot more people out there who are good, and will do the right thing by reporting the guilty party. My heart goes out to the owner of this beautiful cat. My he/she find solace in the fact that there are a tremendous amount of us out there who will not tolerate cruelty! We all grieve the loss of their beloved pet, and hope for swift justice. Come on people...speak up!

The article itself was good, but I always cry and get so angry. These monsters that do such horrible things to any of God's most majestic creatures, should be put on trial and condemed the same as if they murdered a human, they should be put to death or imprisoned for life, no parole! No mercy!

I hope they find the person who did this. If I had any idea, I wouldn't even need a reward to turn them in. What a low life

I can't believe people now a days. Hope it made him feel like a real man, drowning an innocent animal. Or woman. I get so enraged hearing about these things, it makes me sick. I have 2 cats whom I love very much. I wouldn't even take the award money, just knowing this person is paying for what he/she did, would be reward enough. I wish I knew who did it.
