Snowball, a cat rescued from Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue, needs to find a new home as soon as possible. |
Last August, Long Beach, Calif., police seized more than 300 cats and dogs from Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue. Those animals were taken to the Long Beach Animal Control shelter, and more than half of the cats and dogs have been placed in new homes. But for the 80 cats and 60 dogs still at the shelter, time is running out, reports the Los Angeles Fox 11 News.
“These are wonderful pets that maybe just had a rough start to life,” said Wesley Moore of Long Beach Animal Control. “These animals just need a good home, somebody who’s going to
love them.”
To encourage adoptions, the Long Beach Animal Control shelter is offering reduced adoption fee rates. Until the end of January, the reduced fee of $70 to $85 will include the costs for spay or neuter surgery and microchip identification. The first 100 adopters will also receive a $25 gift certificate for the SPCA-LA retail store, and all adopters will be entered into a raffle to win $500-worth of pet supplies.
Best Friends Animal Society makes it easier to choose an adoptable animal from the shelter. Potential owners can visit the Best Friends website to see pictures and read descriptions of all the former Noah’s Ark dogs and cats available for adoption. Potential owners can also visit the shelter at 7700 E. Spring St., Long Beach, CA 90808, Wednesday through Sunday.
