The Petco Foundation’s annual holiday fundraiser is in full swing and aims to raise more than $2 million for pets in need throughout the country.
Money raised locally for the foundation’s annual Tree of Hope campaign stays within the communities and regions where donations are made. Every Petco store selects a partner animal welfare organization and raises money on behalf of that nonprofit.
Through Dec. 24, 2007, customers will have the opportunity to purchase card ornaments in denominations of $1, $5, $10 or $20. In addition, customers who give $20 or more will receive a Petco Foundation ceramic ornament. Online donations also are accepted.
“Millions of homeless pets in our nation’s shelters lose their chance to love because they have been given up for one reason or another,” Paul Jolly, Petco Foundation vice president and director said. “Tree of Hope provides much needed funding to local rescue organizations that provide homeless animals with a second chance to live and love.”
Last year’s fundraiser brought in $2.7 million. For more information or to donate online, visit the Petco Foundation's website.
