| Homeless kittens and cats will benefit from funds raised by the Petco Foundation's holiday campaign. |
Animal welfare groups throughout the country will collectively receive a multimillion dollar donation thanks to customers, vendors and associates who contributed to the Petco Foundation’s Tree of Life fundraising campaign over the holidays.
Approximately $2.5 million was raised in 36 days. The annual campaign was conducted at Petco stores across the country, where customers had the opportunity to purchase card ornaments in a variety of denominations.
Money raised will stay within the communities and regions where donations were made; each Petco store selected a local animal welfare group and raised money on behalf of that organization. Donations will be used to help surrendered animals find permanent homes.
“We are so thankful to everyone who contributed and hope that they all know that they helped to make this world a kinder, safer and happier place to be for the wonderful animals so near to our hearts,” Paul Jolly, Petco Foundation vice president, said.
