CAT FANCY magazine, published by CatChannel.com parent Bowtie Inc., received 14 Certificates of Excellence Awards at the 14th Annual Cat Writers' Association Awards Banquet in Foster City, Calif., on Nov. 17.
"It's an honor to receive so many awards," said CAT FANCY Editor Susan Logan. "Our goal [for the magazine] is to elevate the status of cats in the public's perception — and we're doing that."
CAT FANCY also won four Muse Medallions, the Cat Writers' Association's top honor. CAT FANCY won the Monthly Magazine category, and CAT FANCY Editor Susan Logan received a Muse in the Magazine Column category for her "Editor's Note." Veterinarian Arnold Plotnick, DVM, won a Muse in the Health and General Care category for the article "Dangerous Drugs" in the August 2006 issue of CAT FANCY, and Weems Hutto won a Muse in the Color Photograph Series category for "Orphan Basics," which was published in the April 2007 issue.
Additionally, the magazine was honored with two special awards. Sandy Robins won the HSUS Pets For Life Award for "Project Bay Cat" (published in the March 2007 issue) and Dusty Rainbolt won the Purina Kitten Chow Kitten Award for "Orphan Basics" (April 2007 issue).
