| The Cat Writers' Association is accepting submissions for its Communications Contest until July 1, 2008. |
The international Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) now is accepting entries in its 15th annual Communications Contest. Writers, broadcasters, photographers and graphic artists can submit cat-themed materials in 35 categories and 20 special award divisions. This year, CWA will award more than $12,000 in prize money, thanks to corporate and private sponsors.
“Our contest showcases the very best in the feline field,” said Arden Moore, CWA contest chair. “You don’t have to belong to CWA to participate. However, we encourage you to be part of this professional group that strives to improve the lives of cats and serves as a great network of professionals.”
The contest is open to work published between June 16, 2007, and June 15, 2008. Feline-themed materials eligible for the contest include articles, columns, short stories, poetry, books and photography published in magazines, newspapers, newsletters and online and video/audiotapes of broadcast material. Entries will be accepted until July 1, 2008, with the winners announced at CWA’s annual conference November 20-23.
To obtain rules and entry forms, send a self-addressed, stamped business-sized envelope to Arden Moore, 2851 Todd St., Oceanside, CA 92054. Rules and entry forms will also be available online at the Cat Writers’ Association website in mid-April. For more information about CWA, visit the group’s website.
