The international Cat Writers’ Association is seeking entries for its 14th annual communications contest, which is open to writers, photographers and editors in print, online and broadcast media.
All published writers and photographers are eligible, regardless of Cat Writers’ Association membership.
This year, the Cat Writers’ Association is offering corporate-sponsored special awards of $500 to $1,000 in topics that include veterinary research, health, behavior, nutrition, seniors, kitten care, safety issues, the human-animal bond, humane issues and responsible ownership, plus awards for fiction and new writers.
The writing competition is open to work published between June 16, 2006 and June 15, 2007. Categories include feline-oriented articles and columns, short stories, poetry, books, photography and video/audio tapes published in magazines, newspapers, newsletters and online.
There is a $15 fee per entry.
The awards will be presented at the Cat Writers’ Association’s annual conference, taking place from Nov. 15 to 17 in Foster City, Calif., at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Rules and entry forms are available at the Cat Writers’ Association’s website, or by sending a self-addressed stamped business-size envelope to contest chair Arden Moore, 2851 Todd Street, Oceanside, CA 92054. The deadline for submitting entries is July 2, 2007.
