To recognize National Spay/Neuter Month, Tree House Animal Foundation will spay or neuter 100 cats and kittens in the Chicagoland area during the month of February. The free surgeries are made possible with the help of the Cook County, Ill., spay/neuter rebate.
Cat owners can make an appointment for the free spay or neuter surgery by calling Tree House Animal Foundation at 773-784-5488, ext. 229. Each participating household can receive two free spay or neuter surgery packages. Package services will vary depending on the particular cat’s situation and needs.
Tree House encourages cat owners to spay and neuter their pets to help reduce pet overpopulation and to reduce cats’ risk of developing reproductive organ illnesses. The humane organization also encourages the public to practice trap-neuter-return to help manage and control feral cat colonies.
