The first annual PETopoly fundraiser hosted by Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions will take place at the Las Vegas Elks Lodge on June 14 from 5 to 9 p.m. The event aims to create awareness of the charity and raise funds to place Las Vegas-area cats and kittens in new, loving homes.
Master of ceremonies for the event will be John Fredericks, KVBC-Channel 3 chief meteorologist. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, dinner and silent auction, as well as CATopoly vs. DOGopoly tournaments, where players will trade cat and dog breeds and buy litterboxes and dog bones. Winners will receive a grand prize and bragging rights.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions and another cat rescue group. “We will donate a portion of our net proceeds of this event to another local animal welfare organization that will be announced at the event that evening,” said Carol Fox, Homeward Bound co-founder and president. “We hope this event will generate community awareness for this important cause that affects all pet lovers.”
A table of eight seats is available for $300, while individual seats sell for $50 per person. These prices are for the dinner only. Tickets for the PETopoly tournament are an additional $15. To learn more about the event, visit the Homeward Bound Cat Adoption website.
