You may have heard the Jingle Cats “singing” a favorite holiday classic, “Jingle Bells,” while driving or shopping this holiday season. Now you can watch the cats in action. Jingle Cats Music, the cats’ music publisher, has released a DVD featuring their music videos.
The 40-minute DVD showcases the cats performing “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night” and Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies,” among other holiday songs. As the nine cats meow, croon and caterwaul these tunes, they receive support from their background singers, the Jingle Dogs.
The Jingle Cats first hit the music scene in 1993, when their first album, “Meowy Christmas,” was released. They followed that up with “Here Comes Santa Claws” in 1994 and “Rhythm and Mews” in 2002. The cats have sold more than 2 million albums, and their popular song “Jingle Cats Medley” was recently featured in the Warner Bros. movie “Fred Claus.”
