| Kevin once belonged to a family that lived in Las Vegas. |
In July, Nye County Animal Control took over operations at FLOCK (For the Love of Cats and Kittens) in Pahrump, Nev. Best Friends Animal Society of Utah stepped in to help care for the 400 cats, with one of their first steps being to scan the cats for microchip identification. Several cats were reunited with their owners early this month.
But Kevin is still waiting for his family. According to his microchip information, he was reported missing four years ago from the Las Vegas area. Attempts to reach his family have been unsuccessful so far. Kevin is a domestic shorthaired cat with green eyes, grey fur on his head and back, a blaze down the center of his nose and a half mustache and grey chin.
Best Friends volunteers hope to reunite Kevin with his family, as well as many of the other cats that show signs of living with owners. “As we continue to work with these cats, many of them are showing us that they were family pets,” says Sherry Woodward, Best Friends animal behaviorist. “We are urgently asking that anyone who is missing their cat from the greater Las Vegas area, please come to our rescue operation in Pahrump. The kitties want to go home.”
