In an effort to find new homes for all the remaining Lebanese cats and dogs, Best Friends Animal Society will bring the animals to the PetSmart in Tempe, Ariz., March 24-25 for an adoption event. Almost 300 Lebanese cats and dogs have been adopted since they arrived in Kanab, Utah, last October.
The 29 dogs and six cats will travel with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary staff to Arizona, where many Lebanese cats and dogs were successfully placed in new homes at an adoption event held in January.
Last October, Best Friends Animal Society worked with Beirut for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to bring 300 cats and dogs from the war-torn streets of Beirut to the United States. Since then, nearly all the animals have gone to live in permanent homes.
