CC the cat goes home with his new family, the Hanfs.
|
The Summerlin PetSmart and Best Friends Animal Society hosted another Paws from Pahrump adoption event on September 23 to help find homes for the cats from FLOCK. Four more cats went home with new families, thanks to the event.
CC was adopted by Judi Hanf and her husband. When Best Friends first arrived at the FLOCK facility in August to help care for nearly 600 severely neglected cats, CC was in need of critical care—hence his name. Judi plans to give CC a new name after the cat has had time to settle in his new home.
Judi was unaware that CC had such a difficult start in life. “Oh, my gosh, are you one of those cats? You poor kitty,” she said, when she learned that CC and his friends were from the FLOCK facility.
One of CC’s peers, Dude, now lives with Jim and Pam Ingaglio. Dude’s adoption was the last of the day. Two other cats, Popcorn and Chip, left together to live with Loretta Nikkola, who had waited five years to adopt a new pet after her cat passed away. When she saw the news of the cats at Pahrump, she told Best Friends’ volunteers at the event that she knew the wait was over.
Best Friends Animal Society continues to provide care and medical attention to the cats at FLOCK. For more information about the group’s efforts, visit Best Friends’ website.
