Do you know which houseplants can harm your cat? Did you hear about the Siamese that helped save his family from a house fire? Episodes of “Animal Attractions,” a weekly series broadcast on public television stations across the country, will tell these stories and more. Each week, hosts Megan Blake (a former Miss Georgia) and Alex Boylan will present helpful tips on pet care, interview experts about various cat and dog breeds and seek professional veterinary advice about hot medical topics.

In a recent episode, Blake traveled by plane with her cat, Tout Suite, to demonstrate the steps cat owners can follow when flying with their pets. Another episode shared the story of how Sammy, a Siamese-mix cat, saved his family from a fire.

Episodes of “Animal Attractions” feature different segments each week. “Pet Trainer 911” segments share behavior training tips, while basic care information is presented in “Paws Button.” Viewers meet new breeds in “Top Dogs and Top Cats,” and the hosts search for the latest medical information during segments of “Pet Vet.”

Heartwarming tales of how pet owners met the perfect cat or dog are shared in “Pet Match” segments. And stories like Sammy’s that feature extraordinary animals in compelling true stories are revealed in “Pet Tales.”

Sounds like a great show! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it airs in my area. Maybe soon.
