The Oklahoma City Cat Club will hold its fifth annual Charity Allbreed Cat Show in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots drive Nov. 25 and 26 at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds Centennial Building.
At this year’s charity cat show, which is held in association with the Cat Fanciers' Association, up to 250 purebred cats and kittens representing as many as 25 different breeds are expected to be present from across the Midwest.
Examples of breeds expected at this show include Abyssinians, Birmans, Exotic Shorthairs, Maine Coons, Oriental Shorthairs, Persians, Sphynx and Tonkinese. In addition, there will be a Purebred Rescue Group in attendance with those purebred cats and/or kittens looking for new homes for the holidays.
Visitors to the charity cat show are encouraged to bring toys for the Marine Corps drive. There will be vendors there offering cat-related merchandise, such as cat toys, decorative items for the home, cat trees, purses, jewelry and clothing.
This year, any spectator who brings a new, unwrapped toy to the show will receive free tickets to a raffle of items that runs for both days.
Marines will be in attendance all weekend to gather new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 25 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 26. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $4 for children under 12.
