Steve Dale, radio personality and pet journalist, is the recipient of the 2006 Pets for Life award, presented by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and the Cat Writers’ Association (CWA). The award recognizes the best single work of the year appearing in the mass media that encourages keeping cats in their homes for life. When selecting a winner, the HSUS and CWA look for topics such as correcting behavior problems, dealing with health issues and reaching out to help abandoned cats.
“Steve has done a great service for his audience and for the animals of Chicagoland through almost 10 years of broadcasts,” said Wayne Pacelle, HSUS president and CEO. “He has raised money to combat feline diseases, created dog parks in Chicago and drawn attention to the plight of animals in New Orleans.”
Dale hosts two syndicated radio shows: "Steve Dale’s Pet World" and "The Pet Minute" with Steve Dale. He also hosts "Pet Central" on WGN Radio in Chicago, writes a twice weekly syndicated newspaper column for Tribune Media Services and is a special correspondent for CAT FANCY magazine.
