Faced with an overrun of homeless cats and kittens, the Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS) in Churchill County, Nev., is holding a cat adoption sale.
An already spayed/neutered kitten with current shots is normally $100; that price is being cut to $60. An already spayed/neutered adult cat with current shots is usually $80; that price is now $40.
The nonprofit, no-kill shelter’s sale will continue until the shelter is “at a comfortable level in our cattery,” according to Jennifer Williamson, shelter president. The shelter still will utilize its current potential adopter screening process, according to Williamson.
The shelter also has a $10 voucher program called CAPS SNAPs (Spay and Neuter Assistance Program) for spaying/neutering pets. To qualify, applicants must make less than $25,000 per year and live in Churchill County.
For more information, call CAPS at (775) 423-7500 or visit its website to check out the available kittens and cats.
