The Humane Society of the United States will pay a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who shot two cats in Holtwood, Pa.
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2006, a family found their calico cat, Spice, dead from wounds received by a shotgun blast. The next morning, the family discovered their gray male cat, Mistletoe, hiding under the car in the driveway. The owners are unsure how the indoor cats escaped.
Mistletoe had multiple shotgun pellets in his body. A veterinarian was able to save the cat’s life but could not safely remove all the pellets from his body.
Investigators are still seeking the culprits. Anyone with information is asked to contact Keith Mohler at (717) 285-2851.
