A 100-page manual on keeping pet cats healthy was released by the American National Red Cross last week. The “Be Red Cross Ready Safety Series Vol. 3: Cat First Aid” manual provides step-by-step instructions covering about 70 health topics, including how to take a cat’s temperature and how to develop a disaster safety plan.
It is accompanied by a DVD that provides demonstrations on some of the emergency situations outlined in the book, including choking and cardiac arrest.
The materials were developed by a team of animal, health and emergency preparedness officials, including Deborah Mandell, VMD. Click here for more information.
