Kyle, a playful young cat under the care of the Promise Animal League, was stolen from his cage at an adoption event at PetSmart in Hagerstown, Md., on Sunday, May 26. Now the rescue group is offering a reward for the popular cat’s safe return, the WHAG News (Maryland) reports.
“He was a very, very popular cat,” said Star Silva of the Promise Animal League. “He plays by himself, flipping the blankets underneath him, grabbing people as they walk in. He’s so high energy.”
In fact, Kyle’s playful personality had caught the attention of several potential owners. The league received several applications to adopt the cat on the day he was stolen.
Members of the rescue group believe a pair of dog nail clippers was used to cut the lock on Kyle’s cage. They are asking for the cat’s safe return. “We want to make sure that Kyle goes to the perfect home for him, and that (the new owners) keep him for the rest of their lives,” Silva said.
