| The Iams’ Home 4 the Holidays adoption drive strives to find homes for thousands of homeless cats. |
Since 1999, the Iams’ Home for the Holidays adoption drive, organized by the Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego County, Calif., has joined animal shelters across the country in a common goal: Help homeless cats and dogs find loving homes in time for the holidays. The event has placed more than 1 million pets in good homes. This year, event organizers hope to unite 350,000 cats and dogs with loving families.
The adoption event kicked off on Nov. 5 and will run through Jan. 3, 2008. More than 2,750 animal shelters have signed up to participate in this year’s event, including facilities in all 50 states and shelters in 14 countries, such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, India and Puerto Rico. Individual participating shelters will hold adoption events throughout the holiday season.
Event organizers encourage pet lovers to consider giving the best gift this holiday season — a new home to an orphaned cat or dog. To find a shelter near you, or for more information on the Iams’ Home 4 the Holidays adoption drive, visit the event website.
