|Okay, time for show and tell!
As one of you, namely UBB, seemed to have momentarily forgotten, this was long drive day. So, in an obvious attempt to pad his score, he employed crass duplicity which was quickly detected by our crack - or cracked - scoring team. Namely me. His big mistake was in neglecting to attempt to pad my bank account as well as his score! 75 catbucks would buy a lot of kitty nip! So, naughty Mr. UBB, you have to go to the end of the line. You and your 27! Of course, that will be after you assist Tucker with the cart duty! :)
Mallow was rather quiet today, probably a result of knocking back so much "liquid fortification" after yesterday's match. But hey, really, who can say 'no' to free drinks? Anyway, she staggered in to the pro shop with a nearly respectable 42.
Dasher brought us some thrilling news when he erroneously reported a tiger in the woods! After much ado and a little adon't, it was discovered that Tiger Woods was in the vicinity, to give a demo. Driving resumed, and a very embarrassed Sparkles duffed a terrible 31. It was understandable under the circumstances, and the crowd gave her a nice round of sympathy applause.
Steve decided to walk today, giving dear Din Din a much needed rest. His little ham hocks are about worn out! His beautifulness was only able to manage a 34. Still enough to keep him out of the cart barn. A blessing to the rest of us actually.
Mimi was awesome today, unbeatable, lofting a huge 52 from the tee! And none too soon, I might add. Those carts were in for some serious "reconditioning" if she had to charge 'em up again!
Tucker also was obviously spending a great deal of time bending his elbow after yesterday's contest, as he returned with a really lousy 30. I hope you can see straight to get out to the carts and start plugging those babies in. We have some racing to do!
Bouie was an unexpected surprise, tying Mimi and splitting the cost of refreshments in the lounge. Might we have a ringer in our midst? Hmmmm.... *Everyone looks at Bouie with slitted eyes* Now, now, we'll withhold judgement until we see how he does in the putting tomorrow.
And last but not least - me! I actually had a good drive today, a nice 50. If this was yesterday, we would have had a three-way tie, and at that rate, splitting the refreshment bill 3 ways, they wold have been almost free! At least they would the way I do math!
Okay, the final standings in todays thrilling long drive competition:
1st - Tie - Mimi and Bouie. 52
2nd - Bee Gee. 50
3rd - Mallow. 42
Okay, race you to the parking lot! And Mallow, you put those tools away! :)
