Steve Dale, Certified Dog and Cat Behavior Consultant, reaches dog and cat owners across America through several outlets.
Steve writes a twice-weekly syndicated newspaper column (Tribune Media Services); he's a contributing editor at USA Weekend and host of two nationally syndicated radio shows, Steve Dale's Pet World and The Pet Minute. He's also a columnist for CAT FANCY and CatChannel.com, as well as a regular on WGN Radio, Chicago, and hosts a podcast at WGNradio.com. He's a Chicago Tribune blogger and contributes blogs on various other websites, including for Victoria Stilwell.
Steve's the author of “American Zoos” and “DogGone Chicago” He was an external reviewer for “Feline Behavior Guidelines” (American Association of Feline Practitioners), and is a contributor to the textbook (due out this fall), “The Cat: Clinical Medicine and Management.” He's the primary author of the American Humane Association/CATalyst Council, CATegorical Care: An Owner's Guide to America's Number #1 Companion (reviewers include the AVMA, SAWA). He's written introductions or contributed chapters to many books, including “Bonding With Your Dog,” and “Dog Spelled Backwards.” And he's a contributor to protector (a publication for veterinary professionals)
Steve serves on Boards of Directors of the CATalyst Council (a founding member), Winn Feline Foundation, Tree House Humane Society in Chicago, and the American Humane Association – where Steve is a National Ambassador. In Chicago, Steve created a Task Force on Companion Animals and Public Safety, As a pet advocate, Steve has testified many times against breed specific bans, pet limit laws, etc. Among Steve's many awards, the AVMA Humane Award, Editor and Publisher syndicated newspaper Feature Writer of the Year Award. Steve's a regular speaker at veterinary conferences around the world, shelter fundraisers and special events.
