Cat Sick

Is My Cat Sick?

Cats are masters at hiding signs of illness. Learn how to play detective and recognize these warning signs.

The vets insisted it was simply because they were able to catch it so early, Mann continues. I learned from that: Never ignore a symptom.

No one knows your cat better than you do. You are the best judge of your cats attitude, activity and behavior, says Alice M. Wolf, DVM, professor at Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, Texas. Because signs of illness can be very subtle, if your cat does not seem right to you, then it is best to err on the side of caution and to make an appointment to take him or her in for a veterinary examination as soon as possible.

Even though our cats can't talk to us, they have many ways of telling us when something is wrong and they need our help. We just need to give them our full attention using sense and all our senses.

Our cat Jagger is sick. He hasn't been eating for 3 days and so we took him to the vet.--We reported to the vet what he suggested last month to observe him if his severely infected mouth comes back, when the steroid and the infection shots wear off. It's now august and after about being back to normal, he all of a sudden lost his appetite. --and back to the first sentence, this time the vet diagnosed him with infested fleas. it's been 2 days, and maybe I'm impatient to see his progress. He just lay down by his food, but just eat so little as opposed to the past--he was always hungry.--That's a concern. Maybe we diet him too much?--He eats 3 times a day regularly--6-11-5--then snack at 9pm. Now he barely touch his foo.--I read some articles about possibilities.--On fleas, while waiting to for the vet's medicine to take effect (killing fleas), I sprayed my glowes with flea spray and combed it thru his entire body. What's next. How can I get his appetite back?
