Quick Tips: Litterbox Location

Placing the litterbox in a good location will encourage good litterbox habits.

The litterbox should be placed in a room that is out of the main traffic areas, yet close to your home's social hub. A cat will travel some distance to get to its litterbox, but why make it inconvenient for your cat? For sanitary reasons, the litterbox should be located in a different area of the house than the food and water dishes. If you have dogs or children, make sure your kitten will have uninhibited-and peaceful-access to the litterbox.

The above tips are a good guide to placing the litterbox. Also think about ease of access for your cat. Put the litterbox in a spot where your cat is sure to use it.
