How We Met
Neighbor's wife died then he ended up in hospital later on. Tipper figured he was abandoned again so he ended up in neighbor's (Anita) back yard on a cold rainy morning. He's been there in one spot all that day so Anita called me and told me so I went and got him and he looked next to death; fixed up the xtra large dog crate for him; dried him up and put him in it. He stayed in it for several days. Finally decided to come out. He got lots of love and care. He was happy.
We talked to owner and we all agreed that Tipper would live with us and he (Duane) would pay for any expenses.
June 2006 Duane died so now he's ours totally.

we were lucky
to hit the lower 50s here yesterday before all the clouds rolled in and the wind came up again. at least it was sunny on tuesday and part of yesterday. cloudy now and 33 when janet got up at 3:30 to start blogging and won't make 50s, but 40s again which is okay, but it's getting pretty tired like the broken record! janet starts easter cooking today after errands after work and working in a few walks as well as getting stuff done online which won't likely get done this morning. sandy, ana, haley, angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

~Trixie's Tantalizing Animal Tales~ March 8th
Happy Friday everyone! Thank you for the fantastic paws of support for my catpaign so far! Well, since this is the last work day for many people, & we’re looking forward to a relaxing weekend, I’m meowing a very curious tale for you to think about so we can discuss it on our road trip to the zoo tomorrow. ~THE CAT BURGLAR~
Authorities in Sao Paulo, Brazil, have announced that they are trying to get to the bottom of the case of the small white cat that was taken into custody while sneaking back and forth through one of the gates of the Alagoas state prison. When local authorities apprehended the kitty on her way in on New Year's Eve, they found a cellphone, drills, small saws and other contraband taped to her body. According to the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, all of the medium-security prison's 263 inmates are suspects. What are we to make of this? First, obviously, we hope that the kitty is OK and in good hands. No news yet on this from the authorities. Beyond that, some key questions:
1. Why are the authorities making the whole story so public, rather than just watching the various comings and goings of the cat, attaching a GPS to her, or whatever? If she's just an innocent participant, she could surely have led them very quickly to, at very least, the people on the outside.
2. So, either: a) the authorities did not follow her, which means that they are either very dumb (unlikely) or are already in possession of a great deal of information that they haven't revealed, or b) they followed the cat but she didn't lead them anywhere of interest.
3. If b), then this cat clearly knows what she's doing and is doing a lot more than she's letting on. And since it's unlikely that any of the prisoners are up to her level of intelligence, we can only assume that it is she who is the brains behind the whole operation. If that's the case, then ...
4. Since cats created the Internet and are behind the entire world's greatest conspiracies, we must assume that this kitty has others in a large, possibly global, network who are conducting similar operations at other prisons.
5. With that in mind, why is she smuggling drills, saws and a cellphone into this prison? So that a few hoodlums can escape? Unlikely.! Cats aren't interested in fostering petty criminality. So we must look to other possibilities, like:
a) work is underway to create tunnels for feral cats to turn prisons into cat sanctuaries
b) a large network of cats is preparing medium and high-security prisons in countries in the Amazon region to imprison people who are leading the destruction of the rain forests
c) the metal fences around the prison are being adapted into a large-array radio telescope to communicate with cats elsewhere in the cosmos
d) all of the above.
We will bring you further information as soon as it becomes available. Meanwhile, please keep a close eye on your cats at home and report any unusual activity.

good morning!

cold here too
as we hit 15 yesterday and likely it's down around that here this morning too! anyways it did warm up to 50 yes- terday and will be that or over it today, but getting colder tomorrow as a weak front goes through. janet had to run some errands yesterday and baked another batch of cookies and will hopfully do another maybe this afternoon and finish up tomorrow. she's taking mommy to northampton this morning later on to do some shopping and tomorrow nothing is on, but she's walking early which is why she's in a rush to see how much she can get through before leaving at 6:20 as it's starting to get light. also ana is entered in the tuxedo contest and i'm in modern cat contest. sandy, ana, haley, angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

♥ We wish to share this article from KVAL.com on the 2 kitties who were rescued from the Willamette River.
♥ SPRINGFIELD, OREGON ~ A Springfield woman who breeds cats was arrested Monday (12-03-2012) afternoon for allegedly throwing two cats into the Willamette River, Police said.
♥Witnesses said that two abandoned Persian cats were found inside of a trash bag that was snagged on a tree branch near Island Park.
♥Responding officers from SPD immediately set to work trying to rescue the cats from the Willamette. They managed to retrieve both felines, who officials said were scared but safe.
♥Further investigation lead police to Betty Ann Gould, a Springfield cat breeder who handles similar breeds of Persians. Police officials detained her Monday for attempted aggravated animal abuse.
Gould plead not guilty to attempted animal abuse on Wednesday.
♥Police said that Gould had several cats in her care at the time of the arrest. Brian Austin with the Springfield Animal Control said that they are now working to transfer those cats into their custody.
♥"We cannot take the cats until we have a court order to do so,” Austin said. “Until she is convicted of this crime we will not be able to do anything officially. We will hopefully try to talk her into surrendering the cats so we can get them to good homes."
♥Austin said the cats (who are sisters) are both healthy and are nearly inseparable.
♥Both of the Persians will be put up for adoption after a full investigation of the incident is completed.

not much going on here

spectacular saturday morning vote! our games were a bit on the damp side, but the inside events really took off! we're happy that the things are drying out and that the sun will be back for monday and then again on thursday and into the next holiday weekend. janet's asking for sat and sun off as she wanted to try having one more tag sale to see if it would take off or not, but depends on the weather as it now sounds like it's gonna be good.

Morning sweet furr friend. We surely missed you and now, we're finally back after a long, long vacation. Mom and dad finally returned to the Cathouse Sunday night and then mom got called to work yesterday so we didn't even get on the CC then. We're glad to be back.
We'd love to start the day by celebrating our return to the daily activities at the Purple Pigeon. We reserved the best tables and the catnip flapjacks and mouse waffles will be flying off the serving platters. The rat sausage is fresh and the bat gravy lump free. EUGENE, OREGON WEATHER REPORT:
The temperature was high 77 & low was 48 this morning, now it's 76 with humidity 37% & wind is 21 MPH N. Tuesday's suppose to be Sunny☼ & High 83.

♥ Whyskrs 10378 woke mom up about 3:30 this morning with his pawing at the front door & meowing as he wanted fed so after mom fed him, Jazpyr 10428 & Bahneetah 10641 then mom laid back down & slept til 7:11am. Mom never sleeps that late & when she seen the time, she quickly got up & fed us. Mom turned the computer on to check her emails only since it was so late.
♥ Mom went dog food investigating this morning at PetSmart. She looked at lots of labels seeing what the Crude Fat percentage was along with the price. Mom called The Veterinary Hospital & spoke with one of the Techs. Mom & her discussed it & agreed to Pedigree Healthy Weight @ 7% Crude Fat plus it's corn-free & affordable. Carly will try it & see how things go.
♥ Mom groomed Aunt Samantha 15442 on Sunday then she put Frontline Plus for Dogs on her then she put it on the rest of us Knight kitties xcept for Teakee 25544 as she's been spooked for quite awhile now & makes it hard for mom to get close. Mom also got Carly. Mom used 3 tubes of Frontline on all 16 of us.
