Tuxedo Cat contest
I am still waiting for the Shed Monster brush my cat Mr. Sniff won in the Tuxedo contest. It's been nearly 2 months since I received the notification, and have not received the brush. This may come as a surprise but I actually entered the thing because I wanted the brush. I have sent THREE e-mails to CC with NO reply at all - not even an auto-response. Lousy way to run a contest.

Not sure if you can help us, possibly you can refer us to the right place. We have visited DC for years and since the change find it very difficult to use. This week we visited DC and were extremely upset to see DC had deleted our 150,000 points! No notice, just wiped out 150,000 points that took us years to accumulate. I would like to know who to contact about having them restored. Thank you very much. Hi, CC Moderator: There is problem with the current quiz on counter surfing. There is a question that asks which of these things can discourage this behavior. I chose "all of the above" and entered it. The message came back "Nope - all of the above". This cost me 50 points! I wish CC could fix the scoring on the Cat College quizzes. Almost every week I get gypped out of my points and have to send them an e-mail. Each week I get a different excuse about why I didn't get my points. Hi It's Pete and the Girls RE:the technical issues
We know how frustrating it is when we can't log in or when our blog is lost, or when the ad that comes up seems to have nothing to do with anything of interest, but.... (We know, no one wants to hear the but....) The fact Remains that bandwidth is expensive. Bowtie is a business, and for it to survive there needs to be income. The ads provide that. As far as technical issues are concerned, The technicians do as much as they can. Sometimes it takes a while to replicate a problem and get it solved. Think how different all of our lives would be without CC. It provides us with a meeting place where we can share one another's joys and sorrows. It gives a place to offer advice and help to one another. It offers us a medium to share friendship and without Bowtie, we wouldn't have any of that. I think that we should be as quick to thank Bowtie, as we are to criticize them. Reading Cat Fancy every month it becomes very clear that Bowtie is a company comprised of people who really love animals. The concern and activism for animal well-being comes through in almost every article.
I'd just like to say that despite the technical glitches that occur from time to time, we as a family are grateful and appreciative of the service that CC provides and we appreciate the contribution that Bowtie makes toward improving the lives of animals.

ALL of us on CC would greatly appreciate it if the COTD issue could be addressed! You may not even be aware that the same cat has been COTD for three straight days now. We know that should be impossible!
We ALL know you have been flooding CC with noxious ads everywhere. But all the ads in the world won't generate any revenue for your site if you continue to mismanage the very reason your members come here!
You should really get over your obsession with ads, and make sure the technical aspects of the site are functioning correctly!
FYI - I use the Firefox browser, with a feature called AdBlock. I don't see ONE SINGLE AD on CC or DC. So for anyone using Firefox, all your ads are a waste of time anyway. I highly recommend switching to Firefox. Leave Our Channel As It Is!
Please.
I don't get why everyone's comparing the new DC to FB. I *like* FB. But the last time I had the nerve to look at DC, it was ugly, cluttery, and user hostile. (That's the opposite of user friendly) I know there's been notice taken of all our complaints, and I hope the current format can be adapted/updated without the sort of global seismic disturbance experienced by DC users. Hey, I was excited today to see a poll that actually made sense and worked properly! That's the kind of change we like. anyone thought about doing a user focus group? or a couple - for new/potential users as well as long-timers? BTW - cats to not have "kennels" and "yards" - can't imagine what that would even mean over here. We like to roam house to house and visit freely.

Why the changes?
We are wondering why there have been such drastic changes to DC, and why there will be changes to CC as well? Who requested these changes? Anyone at all? I know of no one who has mentioned anything they wanted changed. It seems you are being overrun with people asking you NOT to change it, but you are insisting on changing it anyway. Why?
I know for a fact that you have lost a lot of visitors on DC now, because nearly half of my friends there are already gone. More will leave if the blogging mess isn't cleaned up SOON. So how is making everyone unhappy and losing nearly half your members considered an improvement?
None of the changes on DC made anything better. They made most of it worse. And I don't mean having to relearn where things are. We aren't idiots, we can figure things out. I'm talking about the changes themselves. They didn't fix anything. They have only made people throw their hands up and quit in frustration. I'm close to being one of them.
Please don't make the same mistake on CC - and you will have to admit sooner or later that the experiment on DC was a terrible mistake!

Dear CC Moderator,
We have expressed our concerns several times here and in emails to Cat Channel Support & Bowtie, Inc about the upcoming changes to CC. As a longtime active CC member since November 2006, we do not want things changed here on CC especially the way our pages are set up and how blogging works.
I am joining your very long list of people who are concerned with the upcoming changes to Cat Channel. I sure hope the "changes" on CC will not be like DC. I visited DC just to check things out. I do not like it at all! If CC is like that, we will not be blogging anymore. I do not “do” Facebook and have no intention of doing CC if it turns into Facebook. We have been active members of Cat Channel since November 2006, but the changes would very well spell the end of that.
Please realize that most of us Momcats are older & do not handle changes very well. If you are wanting to appeal to the younger crowd, that is fine. But just know that you will lose many many many longtime Cat Channel members by doing this and us older people are the actual ones who might support your advertisers.
Ok, that's my two cents' worth for the day!

Has anyone explained why
a change is needed? There seems to be a lot of anger on CC about impending changes.
As a member of Mouse Hockey and the CMR group, we don't see a need.

I'm sure you are being hammered with complaints about the "new and improved" changes to Dog Channel, and you should be! Very few of the changes improved anything.
But now you are going to impose a drastic change to Cat Channel as well. I want to request that you leave one thing well enough alone, and that is the way our blogs work here. The blogging on DC is nearly impossible, and about half of my friends have abandoned it. They say unless and until the blogging is returned to "normal" they will not bother with it.
If the goal of these changes is to drive users away from the sites, then by all means carry on - your plan is succeeding!

We have been trying for over 3 hours today to return everyone's blogs, but apparently CC has other ideas. We keep getting the Meow! error page and it is taking FUREVER to move around CC. So we are giving up for today.
We sure hope the "changes" on CC will not be like DC. Mommy visited DC just to check things out. We do not like it at all! If CC is like that, we will not be on very often if at all. You should realize that most of us Momcats are older & do not handle changes very well.

COTD confusion
I am getting confused about voting for COTD or potential COTD or COTD wanna bees running from the Kitty Katpaign blog.
There is a growing conflict, I observe. I know I am too confused to vote for either of them. We got a note yesterday from CMR saying there had been a mistake with two cats up for COTD. But today it is the same problem,
For instance, yesterday the COTD in the window on the right was for Sahara and her Sisters. But CMR made a correction that it was supposed to be for Manchester. We were asked to voted for two COTDs on 3/26.
Then on 3/27 Manchester's photo is in the COTD box and we are to vote for him. Yet, some are getting a message to vote for Maggie on 3/27. This did not come from CMR but fro the alternate cc forum called Kitty Katpaign.
As you can see having rival COTD campaigns is confusing and does not allow the CMR selected candidate the most votes. Unless you have a better idea, I suggest it be made clear that CMR runs the COTD campaigns. There was a very nice notice on the CMR today inviting nominations for those cats who have never had a badge but have over 100 votes and who are active on the cc. Or even for those cats who have more than one badge. This seems fair.
But also today this is the notice from the other COTD campaign:

I have noticed that on several occasions that CC hasn't been working! All pages say "You seem to have reached an error"! My Account page and every other non profile page works but the profiles don't! I was just wondering about this since it has happened twice!

Hi Cat channel moderator...
...There seams to be a problem with registering the ages of all my cats. It says all of them are less than a year old, but none of them are. (Figgaro is 10, Maggie is 1, and Cheesy is 6)
I have tried multiple times to fix it, but when I save it always pops up as less than a year old.
I'm not sure what's wrong, and I would like to know how to fix it....thank you.

we would also like to suggest adding a 2nd box on the days when there are two different kitties that are winners, we don't want to take any of the glory from our COTD but perhaps a small picture or at least their name would be nice. A suggestion
Several of us have wondered if it would be possible to add a CROTD grid to the main page? Most of us never know who won this second daily award, and so the winner generally goes unrecognized. That seems a little unfair.

any update on CC site problems?
A new issue noticed today: I had to enter the login twice before CC would accept and let me into my account. There was no error message (no typos) but did notice that the "logout" field was missing.
I continue to have the same technical issues as the previous two days. CC site might work once and then freezes. No matter how many times I click on "vote, the page is at a stand still.
Is there any link where members can check the repair status? Were the reported problems as a result of a software update? Technical Issues
Problems With CC ?
We are having major problems on CC today:
1. The vote button keeps popping back up after we select it and the page refreshes. Oh my goodness, it's taking 3-4 times before the vote actually counts!
2. Sometimes we are not seeing the blogs on the pages, either.
3. We just noticed that on my page the gallery is missing.
We are not on Facebook and can't leave a message there - Many of you may recall why my Mom's not a Facebook participant any longer. MOL

Website is slow & problematic
The CC website is having issues since yesterday. When you vote, it does not take it but the screen loses the "logout" link, the photos and all the comments disappear. Then it sort of freezes.
When a comment is accepted and you click on "vote", it continues to duplicate the comment as many times as you press vote.
