SO GOOD to hear........
from your sweet Rihanna! How have all of you been? We're good. Winter was great here - warm and beautiful. We had a couple of guests come from Michigan to enjoy our mild winter weather. One was Mom's sister who stayed 2 weeks. Together they shopped until they dropped! MOL Sorry your Mom's flowers aren't blooming well due to the lack of sun - we'll send some of ours your way! We seem to have too much sun so everything is very dry. Mom waters daily to keep her plants alive. Mom's family is in Michigan so starting in April Mom flies up there to be with her sister, parents, son and his family, and friends. She leaves this Thursday for another trip.

Please send our love to Dinny and Millie and your sweet Mom. Do keep in touch!

the 15 beef bean soup janet's made for supper tonight! has the entire house smelling so devine! she's also walked pepper when it was 9 above this morning, washed her hair, did a regular load of wash and gotten it hung down cellar on the lines, stripped/changed her bed and that will be done tomorrow so it can go outside on the lines to fresh air dry till thursday afternoon, booked 3 bus day trips for july/august and will be taking a nice long walk after lunch even if she's not done with being online, she says it's more important to be outside than inside! sandy, ana and the angels

good to see you again!
it's been a few weeks since we last saw you here and are really happy that you're back! give our best to dinny as natty knows about those eye infections as he's had pink eye a few to many times to remember when he was younger as well as ear infections! it's been nice most of this past 2 weeks minus the snow/sleet mix to start on friday morning, and before that was into the 50s which was nice! cold again as yesterday we had winds between 40-60mph here making the lower 40s feel more like the upper 20s and lower 30s. it's warmer out there today and janet's walked with pepper upon getting in from work. now she's heard maybe snow wed/thurs, we sure hope not as we don't need a big one to end out the winter season after it being so mild and almost NO snow all winter! making janet :) a lot! sandy and ana

that's where all the comments so far since last weekend have originated from as janet says it's easier to use the first one she comes to and then scans ana's for those who don't vote on my page! hope you've all had a great past 2 days, as it's been so nice and warm out- side unlike this time last year when we were buried in 5 feet of snow and teens for daytime highs and below zero for nighttime temps. bulbs are coming up and we are being warned to cover them up with anything we can get so they won't get frosted. janet's done what she can in a few spots, but has run out for the other areas. can you believe spring starts as the calendar says in 5 weeks just around the time when janet's son natty turns 18 on the 13th of next month just before st. patrick's day too! that's a big minor holiday here in this state as we have the third largest st. patrick's day parade in the country usually the following sunday after that holiday. scant chances of snow flurries tonight with a warm front and saturday during the day with an arctic cold front, burr, don't like the sounds of that. see you on the morrow! sandy and ana

guess what?
janet works at a grocery store, part of the largest chain here in the northeast called stop and shop. she's in produce, opens up the salad bar, then does the sink work outback in produce back room all from 7-11, which is why she blogs on work mornings from 4-6 till it's light enough to take early morning walks again. mornings are the best part of her day she's always saying! she works through most weekends, holidays minus christmas/thanksgiving/easter the first two are paid off and the other is an unpaid day off. leaving you a think spring fling and an early morning vote! sandy and ana

busy here too!
our weather is like spring still here and warmer 50 today and 50s tomorrow with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon! janet's been busy as she walked master's aussie pepper after 5 this morning, washed/put her hair back up, did 2 loads of wash/hung them down cellar on lines to dry, went for a 6 month cleaning and check......she goes back in 2 weeks where a piece fell off......dropped off taxes at the cpa, and got quotes for a computer/printer/service package from best buy and home again. she's leaving shortly to walk up to the library and back again which takes her 1/2 hour each way. we'll see you both tomorrow morning with a quick hello! sandy and ana

Ah Birdsboro! What a lovely name for a town and home of the PA Pawsee. Yes sir, in that small PA burgh lives a family of hockey playing cats-Max, Chloe & Snowball of the Fierce Felines, Robby & Roo of Kelsee's Cool Cats, Buddy of whatever team will take him, and their newest addition sweet BUTTERSCOTCH, destined to be a goalie for Orange Crush, the 2010 Scamper Cup winners. This 10 year old sweetie was left at the Animal Rescue league shelter for the usual dumb reason (s). Pick any one, and kitten season was approaching. Talk about competition! An email was sent out to all former adopters and volunteers to find a home for this lovely lady. Blogger Dad Ron made the call and BUTTERSCOTCH found herself a new family. The vet thanked the Pawsee family for sending his granddaughter to college as BUTTERSCOTCH got sick at the shelter, but is now well and adjusting to a new routine.

The tuxedo kitten was playing in the house, unaware that changes to her life would soon be happening. Her owner was moving to Hawaii & she had no idea what to do with the three month old kitten she had taken in. Where could she send Pudding #161416 so that she’d be loved & cared for? Pudding #161416 heard her meowmy pick up the phone to call a good friend & heard her name mentioned. Ears perked with curiosity, she listened, although her young age made it very difficult to understand the complicated matters that were being discussed. The woman on the other end of the line was reluctant to take on a new kitten but eventually agreed. Arrangements were made & the beautiful tuxedo kitten was moved to her new furever home in Staten Island, NY. Pudding #161416 looked like a gremlin when her new pawents met her. She had huge ears & a small head but her lovable attitude played on their heartstrings & made them realize what a special little kitten she really is. She’s now a very content, happy-go-lucky, 8 month old girl that spends her days running through the house, jumping on anything & everything that she can. Curtains are a major source of her climbing play & she’s often removed with a slight scolding, which doesn’t slow her down for too long. Pudding #161416 is practicing her skills at the balance beam by negotiating the banister on the stair & is becoming a very agile gymnast from the daily performances. She also loves playing with her feather wand & has been heard growling like a dog when the rascally feather is eventually caught between her delicate paws. Let’s put another feather in her paws today, Tuesday June 22nd, by pouncing by her page #161416 & pawing her a COTD vote. Her future Mom first saw Strudel at PetSmart and just loved her color at first sight. She was up for adoption from a local rescue group,and mom decided to add her to her crazy cat house. She now lives 'in harmony' with 13 other kitties. Some days are more harmonious than others. Strudel has a strong pursonality and doesn't always see 'eye to eye' with some of the other kitties there but her mom makes it work..

Strudel is fully trained at opening doors that sport the regular handle. She jumps and jumps until it unlatches. Since the discovery of her talents, Strudel’s Mom is now locking the doors...but...Strudel can open just about any unlocked door.

Back to our favorite town in British Columbia, Hudson's Hope and home of a great group of cats. HEIDI is the next member to seek her COTD badge.
What a sad beginning she had. Can you imagine someone trying to "walk" a small kitten on a string next to a dog? Not only had that awful man not watched "Dog Whisperer", he failed common sense 101. This poor little traumatized kitten was rescued, a bit weirdly, and ended up in a loving home with a patient Mom. HEIDI got her name because that was her defense; can't see me-can't hurt me. Although HEIDI still doesn't care for men, she has learned the lap sitting is a fairly good pastime. She enjoys playing with the various other cats and dogs at home, too.
There's no snow in HH now, so enjoy the scenery and please leave a vote on her page #137520 so she can be a member of the COTD group.

Please vote Onyx #171046 COTD Tuesday June 15th
A black kitty was admitted to the Nebraska Humane Society when his previous owners could no longer afford to keep him. Lost, alone & scared, Onyx #171046 watched as people toured the facility in the hopes of finding the purrfect animal. Christmas Eve had arrived & Onyx #171406 was concerned. He’d be celebrating his birthday in a cage if someone didn’t adopt him that day! He watched curiously as another pair of humans entered the cat area but sighed as they passed his cage & continued looking at the other cats. Something about this special kitty kept drawing these people back to his cage though & his BD wish was granted as he heard the words “we’ll take him” come from their mouths. He found himself believing in Christmas miracles when they lovingly placed him in their car to take him to his new furever home. Onyx #171406 thanked his lucky mice for the chance to become a beloved family cat again & adores his new pawents with all of his heart. He loves to sample human food, even though his pawents tell him it’s not good for him, & lives by his motto "There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast". Onyx #171406 spends his days playing with his sister Dolly, watching birds & squirrels plus keeping an eye on the school kids as they get off the bus in the afternoons. When he’s not busy with his other daily activities he enjoys being curled up in the bathroom sink or sitting on the forbidden piano, which gets him scolded when he’s found on it. He also loves to play laser tag when it shows its eerie glow in his domain & becomes overly playful as he attempts to catch the elusive light. This lovable kitty also enjoys watching newborn babies, at least until they’re old enough to grab his tail, whiskers & fur. Onyx #171406 says there’s nothing better than being spoiled on a daily basis & loves to show his affection with his warm purrs of contentment. Rhubarb’s future Mommy saw her featured on the local TV news one Saturday morning. She was up for adoption from the SPCA. Her Mommy knew right then and there that she needed to bring Rhubarb home to join her family.

We heard that one of Rhubarbs favorite foods is ham and often she has her tail swirled around her dad as he opens the fridge door. Knowing that it is one of her favorites her Dad usually gives her a bite or three of ham but sometimes she has to use her chirps and tail swirls to “purr-suade” Dad to hand over his favorite. Currently Rhubarb is working on having her brother Spencer get the the ham for her. She thinks Spencer is purrsome and really appreciates his efforts.

The Asian Bengal kitty stalks the house, carefully checking over his home territory. The sun is shining brightly into the room as he completes his scheduled rounds. His life is good, stable & purrfect so Simba #77714 lies down to dream about his homecoming once again. He begins to purr lightly as he drifts off to sleep & a smile forms on his handsome face as he remembers the first time he was carried through the door.

Simba #77714 was presented to his mom as a birthday gift after her insistence that the only gift she wanted was a kitten. Dad, not being an inside cat lover, was reluctant at first but knew that his wife’s love for cats could not be quenched by anything except a new furbaby. Off he went to find the purrfect gift & into their lives came an adorable kitten. The fine-looking Bengal was welcomed into their family home in Pensacola Florida & since they were huge fans of the Disney movie, The Lion King, the name of Simba #77714 was an obvious choice for both of them. Simba #77714 grew into the magnificent specimen you see today & he reigns supreme over everything in his home, including his 3 other Bengal siblings. He makes sure that everyone knows he’s the king of their FL realm by making frequent patrols to all of the windows plus doing daily rounds through the entire house. He makes no bones about his favorite meal being chicken & looks forward to the fabulous home prepared feast that his mom lovingly prepares for him & his royal court. Where does the king of the realm sleep? Anywhere he wants to…MOL…but his favorite spot is on top of mom, or anywhere near her, because he knows her love will help keep him warm & safe. Simba #77714 likes to sit on the arm of her chair when she’s crocheting & gets excited when she puts it down & picks up his comb for a brushing. A neat king is a happy king & Simba #77714 is no exception. He cherishes the devotion & attention that he receives every day but he’s hoping for a little extra today from our loving CC community. Piper’s Future Mom and Dad were VERY hurt when their old kitty, Pepper passed away. Even their other kitties were depressed, so Mom got looking for a super lap kitty for Dad. She thought a European Burmese sounded like just the right thing. Mom drove for HOURS to go get her new kitty and then drove HOURS to bring him home..

Piper has been learning a lot of things from his big sissy, Mocha. Like learning how to FLY through the air off the cat tree and how to climb up people and sit on their shoulders! That's not easy, ya know? Especially when Mom clips his claws! Also, he just HAS to help Mom when she washes the dishes, washes the clothes, and REALLY LOVES to help Mom when she cleans the litter pans! Digging in those clean litter pans is just so much fun! He has to just jump from pan to pan and DIG when they are clean. Oh...and would you believe that he is NOT AFRAID of the noisy closet monster? Mocha says it’s called a vacuum cleaner and will just suck him up and make him disappear. Piper don't believe her, but agrees that thing is mighty noisy! In fact, he thinks the vacuum MUST be watched. There is even one of those robot ones in their family room and every once in a while when he is running from and/or chasing Mocha, Piper will step on that thing and make it run all by itself! That means that HE MUST keep an eye on that thing! According to Piper “I may be giving up my play time when that noisy thing moves, but I just KNOW it is my job to WATCH that thing so that it doesn't misbehave! “ So please cast your vote for this cute little Burmese Kitten, The Highland Piper #171322.

Please vote Patches #166614 COTD Tues June 1st
Today we’re pouncing to the Ocean State, also known as Rhode Island, to find our first June COTD candidate. Patches # 166614 was 8 months old & being kept at a local shelter inside of a cat carrier that also held her food, water & litter box. Living conditions were horrible for her & her shy attitude turned away most of the people looking for kitties. One day another woman walked in. Patches #166614 watched quietly as she walked past her carrier. But wait, the woman was back & was trying to look at her as she attempted to hide in the shadows at the back of the carrier. Patches #166614 perked her ears with interest as the woman starting talking softly to her. She introduced herself & told her about her house, the big bed she had to share with her, plus all of the windows & hiding places she could use throughout the home. Curious about this human, Patches #166614 crept forward & allowed the woman to pet her. She heard her say that she’d be back in a week to take her home with her but the young kitten had heard this before & wasn’t entirely convinced that her luck had changed yet. Two days later she visited the vet for a checkup & returned to the shelter. A few days after that the door of the shelter opened again & she saw HER standing in the doorway. Her rescuer had returned as she’d promised! She found love & compassion with a new meowmy in a forever home that very day! It was discovered that she’s a double polydactyl on one of her front paws, which is quite handy if she needs to swat at something, & that she was going to remain a very shy, laid back cat. Patches #166614 goal is to set the world record for the most naps during a 24 hour period but is finding it difficult to accomplish with 4 other sibling running rampant through the house. Her mom says she can sleep through almost anything but Patches #166614 is very excited to be running for COTD today & promises to stay awake to greet everyone as they pounce in to paw her a vote. She does request that all cameras be left at the door though or she might try to hide since she’s still not comfortable with the flashing of the camera or strangers. Well, guess it all started when Tippi, Little Tiger’s fur mom was abandoned and found wandering this street of McKinney, Texas, in search of scraps. Being a cat lover, Tippi’s Mom gave her food and love. Tippi, it was discovered, was pregnant, giving birth to a litter of 4 kittens in the neighbor’s bushes. Again Tippi’s Mom stepped in to the rescue, taking her and the kittens in. Once old enough, 2 of the kittens were adopted by loving families while Tippi got to keep Little Tiger and Yukki! Terrific Little Tiger is now 8 months old and almost as big as his fur mom Tippi! Being a kitten, Little Tiger still loves to run and play! Isn’t it extra special that Little Tiger has his fur mom and his adopted Mom to love him!

Little Tiger is quite the talented smart kitty too! You see, Mr. Tiger is quite the computer kitty. He turns the laptop off and on and has selected some truly interesting stuff, some stuff his Mom didn't even know was on her computer! Tiger’s Mom was wondering what kept shutting off her laptop until she saw Little Tiger sit on the computer keyboard and turn it on, and then, with a deft paw, proceed to turn it off!! One thing Little Tiger likes to do is chase after the fish on the screensaver on his mom's laptop, but when he gets on top of the keys, the fish go away and he can't figure out where they go! Tiger will sit on the keys to wait for them to come back, but they don't, until finally Tiger goes away from the computer. Guess you can say, Little Tiger is typical of the young computer savvy generation! Lets make Tippi, Tiger’s fur mom, and his adopted MOM so proud by helping Little Tiger earn his very own COTD badge!

In the beautiful province of Alberta, Canada, there is another cat family active on CC. The only female in the group is FLOWER, and she would look just wonderful with a shiny new COTD badge. Today we visit the east coast state of Rhode Island to find our COTD candidate.

Koko #166690 was one of 6 abandoned kittens that were found with their mommy cat by an animal friendly family one day. They were infested with fleas & the 2 week old kittens had severe eye infections that needed immediate attention. Koko #166690 & his family were quickly scooped up & rushed to the home of their rescuers where all of them received proper attention. The family intended to adopt all of the cats to loving families but Koko #166690 was a very sickly kitten & lost most of his eyesight because of the infection. The family worried that he might not be adoptable because of his disability so their hearts opened even wider to accept him, & another of his littermates, into their warm & loving home forever. His special needs met, he soon grew up to become the handsome cat that he is today. His eyesight may be less than normal but his other senses took up the slack & Koko #166690 became a fast moving ball of fluff running from one end of the house to the other. His motto proves that he’s not one to give up on a good quality of life just because of impairment either. MOTTO: If it moves or twitches, it is the enemy. Leave no survivors!

His zest for life holds no bounds & he’s getting more energized as the minutes tick down to his COTD catpaign day. Please announce your arrival as you pounce over to paw him a COTD vote on Tuesday May 18th though or you may become the victim of a playful attack. >^..^< Please give a COTD VOTE of support on Thursday May 13th to the Isle of Staten’s hefty huggable 30 pound orange & white ball of purrs known as Finster the fabulous #145844! Finster will be celebrating his 10th birthday on May 15th and he has lived all those years with his loving family. Tiny Finster was born in their backyard, the little son of a big bad Tomcat, King of the neighborhood, who sported half an ear and a broken tail to prove it! Finster & his sister, the only 2 kittens in the litter, were adopted by their Mom & Dad. When they were 1 week old, their cat mom thought it smart to move them under a rain drain pipe. Finster & his sister almost drowned when some heavy thunderstorms moved in. Again, Mom & Dad stepped in to the rescue, returning the kittens to a better spot with their cat mom in a nice comfy covered box with a blanket.

When Finster & his sister were weaned from their cat mom, their Mom & Dad took over, spending time in the backyard every single day to cuddle and feed the growing kittens. Their plan was to raise them until ready for adoption to a loving furever home at about 2 months. However, at just 6 weeks, Finster fell ill. Keep in mind that Finster was barely 6 weeks old yet was already the size of a typical 6 month old kitten - it seems he inherited his Tomcat father’s big size! His parents took him to the vet who told them Finster was dehydrated from the summer heat. They immediately took Finster home, moving him into their loving home for rest and rehabilitation. Well, Finster has been with his loving parents ever since! He is half blood brother to Rhuby and the King of his Staten Island clowder! Weighing in now at 30 pounds of purr, Finster the fabulous is amazingly active, leaping high and loving his family! Finster #145844, his parents & siblings Nosey, Rhuby, Linguini & Pudding THANK all you kind CC cats for your support!
