Yesterday Callie turned 14. Everyone came over to wish her a happy birthday. I needed some lovin too. How are you. I've been a bad girl. Mom's grandma lives with us, she is 91. Thanks for stopping by! Mommy spends a lot of time with the kitties - right now she is sitting with them. They are too funny just learning to 'walk' - always loosing balance and not having the muscles yet to walk properly. And we're still not sure what to name them. They are 3 girls and 1 boy. We have already tried some names, but somehow they didn't stick. One is called Mia and one Mara.
Hey, why don't we try Lewis for the boy? Let's see how that feels. And mommy also thinks the name Sushi would be cute.
They will all be longhaired kitties, but they are still developing their personalities and that makes naming so difficult. The little boy was always the smallest and got pushed away by his sisters, but now that they are busy wobbling around he goes to his mommy for extra feedings to catch up >^..^< Hugs and purrs ~ ZoeCome visit me, Claire & Zoe.

I asked mommy again to put up pictures of the cat babies at the bottom of my site, but she said on pictures cat babies always look like a furrball, being entangled with each other. So, she tried the video clip option on her digital camera and uploaded it here on CC. The title is:
1 week old kittens
Daddy is petting them. When watching, please just keep in mind that this is mommy's first attempt as camera woman.

Jetta-Amelie has 4 babies, they are 7 days old now and very sweet (I have been told - I'm not allowed to peek). Mommy and daddy are gonna try to take some pictures again - last time, when the camera appeared, Jetta-Amelie shielded her babies with her body. You know what? The two of us are quite some scary creatures - tee hee! I got some news: On Thursday, my mommy picked up a new foster cat from the vet clinic - a long haired tabby and very pregnant, the babies are expected any moment now. That cat was a stray and is very lucky that she can have her babies in our basement instead of outside without a home and good food. Yesterday, it snowed here again and the front stairs where all slippery. The people who found her named her 'Jetta' like the Volkswagen cars. She will stay with us till her babies are old enough to be adopted and the rescue organization that mommy supports is gonna look after that. They will also find a forever home for Jetta. How are you doing? I am fine .... now! But, I had quite a scare last night. My mom and dad like to listen to their MP3 players in bed and I like to play with those ear buds and the thin wires that are attached to them. Well, last night I played with mom's while it was in the drawer of her nightstand. She woke up and wanted to shut the drawer, but instead she pushed on the heavy water glass with lid. (It has a lid because I also like drinking her water - tee hee) The glass was full and while falling down, even knocked a piece of wood off the bed corner. Can you imagine what a loud noise that made? I jumped away and dad jumped out off the bed to mop the floor immediately. I peeked carefully through the door. Big panic, everything was swimming, but at least they were not mad at me. This morning mom said: "Those ear buds are way more intriguing for Zoe than any toy." My mom took me to the doctors today. I have an eye infection so mom is helping me type tonight. The doctor was nice but I sure didn't want to go. Callie who doesn't like me and Smokey tried to keep everyone away so they couldn't put me in the carrier but mom got me. I have to have eye drops put in my eye for one week and if I'm not better I have to go back to the doctor. I hope your day was better and here's another vote.

Rainbow String Toy
Hey Lewis - you know what? Yesterday, my mom went to a pet shop to buy a mat for in front of my litter box and a laser toy. There, she saw the rainbow string toy that you described. I think I would like that, even while I'm a bit spoiled. Mom used to buy exactly that string at Wal-Mart and tie one end to a wand, and a feather to the other. So, I would expect a feather when I see that string. But mom said she would maybe buy it at another time and then I could try it out. The laser toy is fun, even without a feather attached. Dad makes it crawl like an insect, but 'darn', I can never catch that little red thing. When we played in the evening, I tried so hard that I unplugged a pair of headphones and tipped a little table over, but I still didn't catch it. Do you have a laser toy? Just pawing by to say hi and leave you a vote. How are you doing? My mom uploaded a few pics. The first 3 where taken when I was 7 month old (big ears, eh? ) and the last ones are from yesterday and today. I'm not being myself for a while. Here's another vote. We had company at my house for 4 days. I stayed under mom's bed until they left. It was scary for me. I'm glad they are gone so I can go back to the way it was, me zipping through the house.

You told me that your toy with a rainbow string that pops out is very special to you, but how do you play with it? What do you do – try to catch the string? I have many special toys. My mom bought me a feather boa on the weekend, cut it in pieces and hid them in different places. Now I’m trying to find them all and play with them till she comes back from work. The weather is still so yucky here that I prefer to stay inside. If it wasn’t for the boa-pieces-treasure-hunt it would be so boring. Hunting mice is my biggest hobby. Sometimes I also catch a bird, but very seldom. What I actually like much better is a wand game that flutters like a bird. My human friends make it fly around like crazy, but not too far away. I run like crazy and jump high and can even change directions in the air to catch it. When I have caught it, I hold it in my paws and it’s so cool. We have so much fun together. What do your human friends play with you?
