How We Met

We met Chelsea in a barn with her two kittens and the dad who was blocked from being from them with a wire fence. They were in a barn for over a year, and the owners only came once in a while to just feed them and give them water. When we found them through a tip from a friend, Chelsea and her babies were so matted and skinny that her babies almost died. Chelsea had mats that were so thick when I shaved her and I thought that I took a shell off a turtle. The day we met her and her family we knew we could never give them away and promised to give her and her family the best life. We have never have seen such a neglected animal. The dad went to live with my mom after having his ears taken off from trying to get loose and we kept her and her babies, who had to be shaved while getting fixed because they were so matted.
Our dear Chelsea has since lost her sight about two years ago to high blood pressure, but she is as strong and amazing as the day we met her. She has since lost her two babies Peanut, died a little over two years ago to Cancer. She was a fighter just like her mom, and went through Chemo and remission for over 4 years. Her other daughter, Princess passed away last fall. Chelsea is such an inspiration to us as she has always taken the cards that have been giving to her and accepted all her challenges in life. She is the best cat ever. We have learned so much from her and how she handles things and we could not do enough for her. She is the love or our lives!
