About Me

Active within 1109 Days

Hi! My name is Angel

I am Domestic Shorthair from Windsor Locks, CT

Nicknames: Angel Snowflake "Snootz"; Hellian;

Age: 17 years old

Gender: F

Coat: short haired

Education: We won the copyrights to a photo that was submitted into the Library of Congress, and We won Amateur Photographer of the Year Award! She was not in the photo alone! Her brother Beardy was the one in the tub! Not only that, but she survived 12 years with being deaf in both ears, and having heart disease - hypertrophiccar- diomyopathy, which she finally succumbed to on February 21, 2008.

My favorite tricks and treats are: Yes, she loves to attack Mommy when Mommy walks by her and she doesn't know that Miss Angel is there. and Her nip-nip bag.

Where I hang out: Angel liked the heat of a window sill, and loved being snuggled up in bed all day, under the blankies!

My favorite grubs: Evo Innova canned and dry nummies and crunchies.

My pet peeves: Must sleep on my head at bed time!

What I love about my owners: Well, my so-called owner knows that I own her, so I'll say the way she loves me and everyone else in our shelter, and she knows what to do if you're in pain. I absolutely love my Mommy! She takes care of me, and has always gone through everything with me, instead of me just waiting to get better myself.

My cat hobbies: Play "Gotcha" with all four paws!

Pet motto: SPAY & NEUTER YOUR CATS!!!!!!!!

I am in earnest - I will not equivocate - I will not excuse - I will not retreat a single inch - And I will be heard!

How We Met

I never owned her, trust me! She owned me! I rescued her at 6 hours of age, and bottle fed her, and she was fine until about three months into her life, I had to bring her into see her Vets because Mommy needed to rule out Asthma because of a weird sneeze, and found out that she had the heart disease, and that she would have to be medicated for her whole life because of her heart disease. Atenolol every single day since I found out!

Hello again, Angel
I'm sorry to hear that you have suffered memory problems from a car accident. At least you are still here to help rescue kitties! This is a GOOD thing!
As for the heart problems with Pepper and Sebastian, at Pepper's age it is not surprising that she has developed some sort of heart ailment. She will be 19 years old on April 15, 2009. She is an indoor kitty and I have her on the best foods that I can afford to give her. As for Sebastian, the vet suggested that since he does NOT have a heart murmur (although the EKG indicated he has a heart problem), that I give him food high in Taurine. I have been mixing Royal Canin Siamese and Blue Buffalo (which has a slightly higher Taurine count per the info on the package). So far, everyone seems to be doing well. Sebastian is VERY active, like most Siamese, has a wonderfully glossy coat and one would never know that he has any heart problems. Sebastian will be 2 years old at the end of this month (March, 2009).
It is wonderful to know that there are others out there who will be able to answer any questions I have should problems develop. Thanks so much for your caring!

Hello Angel
Pepper here. I read on another blog for another kitty that you had that long named...something-or-other cardiomyopothy. The vet says that he has just discovered a heart murmur on me. We don't know yet if I have the same thing. Mom says that that pesky Sebastian KoKo has that cardiomyopothy problem also, but the vet only found it on an EKG before he had to have some dental work done. Thank you for visiting me. I have left you a vote.
