Oh Tigerbeardy!
We are all sending you AND your precious Mom headbumps, motorboats, ear licks and face rubs. It sounds like you and your poor Mom need that right now.
As for us, Pepper says she is NOT ready to go anywhere yet, except possibly outside to munch some grass (so that she can throw up on Dad's heirloom rug) or to mash her face into the catnip in the catnip garden Mom planted for us last fall. Sebastian is bored out of his mind, because Mom has grounded him. He can't go outside any more. He got too wild with her the other day and pulled the leash out of her hand...TWICE! He took off running around the house, all puffed up and excited and when Mom finally managed to catch up to him, he threw himself on his back and was too wild for her to pick up! She managed to talk him out of his craziness, but he has been grounded very since. He is NOT happy about that...so started taking things out of the bathroom trash can and leaving them all over the bathroom floor.
AND our neighbor moved back in next door...with a DOG! Mom doesn't know if that dog would hurt Sebastian if he got loose again.
As for me, I have been unhappy that Mom hasn't been home much lately. She says she is trying "de-hair the Yak". That is what she calls her horse, Ace. Mom says he gets REALLY hairy in the winter and then when he sheds...YUCK!
But I want Mom to stay home! I like her to play with me and let me sit on her shoulders. Mom says that the weather is getting stupid again here and she will be home getting things ready around here for Easter and company. I just hope that company doesn't include Mom's adopted granddaughter. Oh Tigerbeardy!
You are going to get the warm weather that we have been having the past few days. Daffodils are blooming, Mom's wildflowers (bloodroot and Dutchmen's breeches) are blooming and the Virginia bluebells are up and getting ready to bloom. So guess what the weather report says! SNOW is on the way! YES...SNOW! (Fur fluffing up) We cats are NOT happy about that. Mom has been taking us outside one at a time and our lovely catnip garden is gonna get MASSACRED!
So you did not have your medical treatment! Wow! Well, perhaps the vets will figure out what is going wrong without all that fancy stuff? Am sending you love nips and motorboats so that things go well for you. Tigerbeardy, you are FUN to talk to! I like calling you my furrend.
As for us, Pepper has been acting and feel very old lately. She doesn't even like for me to cuddle with her very much lately. BUT...Mom took her outside and it was the first time in many years that she had been allowed outside. Pepper LOVED being the warm sunshine and rubbing her face all in the catnip! It has really perked her up and she seems to be happier...but she is steadily losing weight (even though she is still eating) and she is getting rather feeble. Pepper will be 19 years old in just a few weeks (4/15) and Mom is worried about her.
Mom took Pepper to the vet a couple of weeks ago and Pepper was so upset when the vet tried to take a blood sample that she threw a fit, got away from the vet and trotted about the office panting and peed all over everything! Mom decided at that point that, no matter what was going on, she was not going to put Pepper through that level of stress again. Even if what is happening to Pepper is treatable by veterinary medicine, Mom has decided to let nature rule. And I think that Pepper would prefer that. She gets this really tired look in her eyes sometimes.
Mom will not be the only one who misses Pepper when she's gone! I just hope it's not TOO soon!
But I don't want to end on a sad note, so I will tell you a funny. Mom took Sebastian outside yesterday on his leash and just let him wander loose in her one garden (she calls it the Anatomy Garden Appendix, because some of the wildflowers have body part names!) Anyway, Sebastian said he found this weird, long SLITHERY thing that moved real fast under the dead leaves. He tried to catch it and pounced at it all over the place, but the slithery thing got away. I don't think I would have liked for him to catch it. He just MIGHT have tried to bring it into the house! Please know that your mommy loves you VERY much. That is why she is getting so upset and nervous about your treatment. People often handle their own sicknesses far better than they do ours. Which is silly, because we cats just KNOW how to handle being sick. We're routing (rooting???) for you and your Mommy. Sure hope that your Mommy doesn't have too much to handle and we sure hope that you don't get real sick from the med. Sometimes those medicines can be yuckier than being sick! And THANK YOU to your Mommy for being available for any cat health questions. So far (claw on wood) the only problems we have had lately have been that Pepper had to take antibiotics for a bladder infection and Mocha just saw the vet this morning for a touch of conjunctivitis. Mom keeps a CLOSE watch on us, because we're her only kids.
