Well, the computer, dial up or the internet was so slow yesterday morning that mom had to shut down til late afternoon when she got back on. in the meantime she mowed the little front yard, did some weeding and trimming on some bushes. ~ OMG!!! Pappoose got her very first vaccination shot and not by a vet neither!!! Mom went to the farm store and bought two doses of it. Mom held Pappoose and dad did the dirty deed!!!Tehehehe!!! Mom said Pappoose was such a good girl and never even made a twitch nor cried. Mom started to play with her to see if she felt like it and she did. What a real trooper!!! She gets her second shot in two weeks. ~ Now some sad news. Mom watched the local news a couple nights ago and there was this man who shot someone's kitty. It's against the law to harm a pet here and the guy was arrested. Two weeks prior another man shot a dog cuz it was on his property and figured he had the right to shot it. WRONG!!! From what we understand is that guy was arrested, too. Thank You for the continued votes for towards my COTM in July. You are so kind. Similar story here. Our older brother went across rainbow bridge , he was 16. Dad went to the shelter and Missy picked him. She turned out to be a Norwegian Forest cat. My parents had lost 2 of their older kitties last year. My mom was the one saying she did not want any more kitties because she was still so sad but dad is the one who wanted to go to the animal shelter. Mom was very surprised that he wanted to go and after a couple of weeks she gave in and they both went. Dad picked me out and I got to come home with them right then! I was so happy to be going to my furrever home! My mom is the one who named me. I really like my name and learned it really fast. But then as time went by they noticed when I meowed it was more like little squeaks. lol I have grown to be a real big girl but you would not be able to tell that by me meow. Mom and dad lost one more of their older kitties and their dog not to long after they got me. Samantha is the only older kitty around here and mom thinks it is good us new kitties are here for her so she would not be the only kitty. I think you are a very handsome kitty Sheldie! I love all your pictures! I think it is neat that your moms mother's name was the same as mine. I am not sure if I am your moms mother though. Be sure to stop by and visit my brother and sisters. Stop, Drop and Roll!!
Hi Sheldie, Thistle here! You don't have to worry about me catching on fire! First of all, I'm ALWAYS very closely supervised (like from 2 feet away...give me a break!) and I somehow figured out that if I lick my paw first, it's almost fireproof! And I'm much too fast for that darned flame to catch me! Now if only I could figure out a way to catch IT! I'm a very talented cat with rather diverse interests, don't you think? Since I moved to the house we live in now (3 years ago) I've taken up spiral staircase leaping. That's where you jump from the top to the bottom, totally omitting the spiral...a little unnerving to Momcat if we're both going down the stairs at the same time and she's got a load of laundry in her arms. We cats have to keep our humans in line! I've been teaching that trick to my little brother, Snorky Bob, and he's a very quick study. Now when I fly down the stairs, he's hot on my trail! It really screws up humans who've never experienced flying daredevil felines before...you should hear some of the neat sounds they can make!!!
Momcat is really surprized that somebody in San Diego has heard of Napanee! She knows people in Toronto (where I was born and lived for 4 years) who have no idea where it is! I'm sure your Mom will figure out that we've only lived here a few years (3 1/2) but maybe Momcat has met her friend. Does he like cats? It's a real pleasure to meet you, Sheldie. HI FROM SWEETIE PIE
The rabbits are just a dream now. Once mom adopted me, I became a totally inside cat. She says I am safer that way. She had to learn the hard way about letting a pet cat be both inside/outside and has made all her cats totally inside for the last 20 years (of course, I haven't been around for 20 years). Mom feeds the birds right outside our window, so I get a lot of neat birdwatching all day long, plus I get to sleep in mom's warm bed at night. Yeah, let's meow together - MEOW, MEOW!
