How We Met

I think Mickey adopted us. My husband and I tried to chase him off for a year. We had had a cat 24 years earlier and had decided not to have another one. We were sitting out on the patio and here came the cat to see if he could catch a bird at my feeding station. I said "If this cat eats from my hand we're going to keep him". I was only kidding but my husband said "Okay". I said "Are you kidding"? And he said "No". So, up I jumped and went into the house and got a hotdog. I was able to get him to come to me. He went on his way, but when offered another hotdog he came back. We went into the house, but would look out on the patio and there was the cat. So, I tried to get him to come into the house, but he wouldn't come in for me. However, when my husband called for him to come in, in he came. Well, to make a long story short. My husband was able to get him to come in again and we put him in a box and took him out the local vet. Of course, by the time we got there he had gotten out of the box even though we had taped it shut. He was so good at the vets. The vet said he was a year old and warned me about the possibility of heart worm and not for me to get my hopes up. Anyways, we got the call to come pick him up and that he was extremely healthy for having been an outside cat, which he is no longer.
