How We Met
Some bad human threw me out the car door across the street from where I live now. Mom took me to the vet to get rid of the tapeworm and earmites. I got well enough to harass the big cats, Buffy & Jesse, and now I'm in charge of everything. Even though I may be tough when it comes to the other cats here, I'm still Daddy's Boy!

janet's hoping

need rain here

now that
sounds like a plan to us! we have one unruley yew growing like a it doesn't belong there anymore, but mommy and master refuse to have it gone saying it hides some of the stuff in the backyard they don't want others to see! that's part of the north side of the garage which still is a mess and won't be done till janet and nat have more time to do it. today janet walked and was home before the sun came up as well as 2 loads of wash up on lines outback and cleaned more of her books she's "dumping" on salvation army/goodwill stores next week as well as asking if the senior center might like a few bags of them and one for the library too as she said she'd take them in small batches of 10-15 or so. did you know it's sports day and we're hoping you guys can drop by for a short time seeing it's the 70s and sunny today through monday, then cooling back to the 60s for the rest of next week and more sunshine. sandy,ana,haley angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

good morning!

cooking all day saturday, and working outback yesterday janet's pooped, but has a lot more outside after she's home from work today to deal with as well as getting out and walking! she says likely right after lunch will be the right time to finish pruning the peach tree, then picking up all the brush and taking it over the hill and then tackling some of the north lawn seeing it's "Gross!" as janet says. nat can't help he's working for another neighbor while other things are on hold till our mower gets back from it's yearly tune up. sandy,ana,haley,angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

no cleaning here

it's not the lightening

hoping finally that the rain has decided to move out once and for all! we started around 40 yesteday morning when janet walked the big block with pepper, then came home and started to blog...that took till 2;45 mixed with doing email/fb and interruptions...then temps dropped around 9:30-10 as master/nat finally ran uptown to get a few errands done around 10:30...janet noticed some sleet on the ground at the start of the rain and temps were into the mid 30s of all things! janet's constantly asked god to stop all this nonsense and get with the program, it's not winter anymore, but spring! the way it's going we'll have a late spring snowstorm, watch and mark our words it's been so wierd it's not funny! sure hoping not though! sandy,ana,haley,angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

we used to

march is a transitional month as well as april so well be a mixture cold and snowy kitchen sinkers and then rain like we had with 50s the past 4-5 days like spring. janet walked the lower west street block this morning early on since she was awake with gas from the vermont maple syrup baked beans she made for supper last night as well as night sweats...hates those...and a nagging sinus/allergy headache since the weather is changing to cold and crappy again with a kitchen sinker on sat and then rising to 40s by tues/wed next week for yet another one. janet made chicken noodle soup for saturday night snice she's working the next two days and goulash for all tonight minus nat even though it's his 19th birthday he wanted a burger and buttered noodles which is fine at least he's eating something! sandy, ana,haley, angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

the big meltdown is on this time more so than ever! the 2" we have left from the 5" which was on the ground yesterday will be history with bright sunshine and 50s this weekend as well as rain/showers and 50s monday and tuesday. janet was out bright and early walking 5:15 and saw the sun coming up around 5:45 which won't happen again for 3-4 weeks but will gain time to walk in the evenings. she ran errands after she got cc started, then had to run out again to get things for nat's 19th birthday on wednesday this coming week. sandy, ana, haley, angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

biggest snowstorm of the season upon us on friday, and janet out of commission not being able to work her shifts at the store the next 3 days due to a lower left rib pull or strain and ordered not to do anything other than walk, sit, stand or sleep on her bed, she's gonna feel out of place not being able to help natty who'll have to snow blow/shovel/rake the roof by himself, but he's of age and is also due to start his new once a week job at the mall, but if the roads aren't plowed of the 1-2 feet of snow, no way he's gonna be able to get there. janet's on pain killers and the heating pad for right now. sandy, ana, haley, angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

Supplies:
4 White Carnations
2 Plastic Black Shank Buttons - if you can find an oval shape even better
1 Plastic Yellow Shank Button
1 Sheet of White Craft Foam
Black Card Stock
Fabric Glue
Straight Pins
Tape
Green Floral Tape
Floral Wire
Red Ribbon
Place button wires into the flowers to create the face (make sure they're secure). You might need to trim the wire a little so your buttons sit flat on top of the flowers. I also recommend looking at a Hello Kitty image to get the nose and eye spacing correct.
Tie a traditional red bow and trim off tales. Attach a floral wire to bow. Cut two rounded triangles from the white foam for ears. You'll want the ears to be slightly bigger opposed to proportionate. Glue one of the ears on the back of the bow. Tape the other ear to the floral wire. The wire should be 6" in length.
Situate ears at the top of the bouquet. You will need to bend the ears back about 90 degrees. The flowers should cover part of the foam ears (this is why we made them larger). With floral tape, wrap wire and stems to secure in place.
Last are the whiskers. Cut 6 thin strips of black card stock measuring 2" in length. Pin three strips to each side of the face inside the flowers using straight pins. You now have a Hello Kitty Bouquet. For more color surround it with other flowers or wrap it in cellophane and tissue paper.

our worst
winter in memory for janet was back 2 years ago when we had the 5 feet of snow and it just kept coming and coming and dumping and dumping. this winter the most we got was back to back late dec. storms which dumped 12" which now is closer to 4-5" on the ground or more in spots, but it's all settling and melting slowly. we were lower 50s actual and lower 60s in the sun yesterday so nice and warm! not so today, 20 degrees colder or more lower 30s and then back to the nice warm stuff the rest of this week with possible rain! sandy, ana, haley, angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

Cat "arrested" for break-in Brazilian prison
There are paw-prints all over the scene of the "crime" for its part in an apparent jail break attempt. This feline's life of crime is now over.
The incident took place at New Year. A smuggling cat has been detained in the grounds of a jail in Brazil with contraband goods for prisoners strapped to its body with tape. They found a mobile phone, charger, headphones and tools. Officials said the items could be used to effect a means of escape or for communicating with criminals on the outside.
The white cat was apprehended crossing the main prison gate. The incident took place at a jail in Arapiraca city, 250km (155 miles) south-west of Recife in Alagoas state.
The cat had apparently been trained to assist in high-profile prison breaks, and had been seen coming in and out of the jail multiple times prior to its arrest.
The jail holds some 263 prisoners.
There are no leads in the case. All of the prisoners are suspects in the case, but it’ll be hard to get any forward-momentum in the investigation. A prison spokesperson stated: "It's tough to find out who's responsible for the action as the cat doesn't speak."

we have some resident owls who sometimes perch in the trees looking for rats, mice, rabbits, chippies or other modes of food and janet named them years ago hoots and hootnanny. she sometimes hears them when she's out walk-ing bright and early before the sun's come up. although she didn't get a chance that early due to having to go uptown for a blood test this morning, she did walk upon getting home around the big block with pepper at 25 out- side as it was 13 to start and is already over 30 out there which means janet's gonna walk by another hour or so she hopes. we were down to -5 yesterday officially. sandy, ana, haley, angels Come visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.
