How We Met
On my birth day my mom promised me a cat and her friends cat had another litter so we went to choose the kitten, at first I didnt see her but then my mom almost tripped over her and I liked her the best of all kittens, and the tripping my mom thing kind of became a habbit becuose when she walks and Chitah is on the floor she still trips over her.

Hey Chitah
So sorry it has been so long since our last blog, but mommy has been having computer troubles lately, but thankfully they are all fixed now. I thank you all for the Angel birthday wishes, and have some exciting news! Mommy brought back two 8-week-old kittens from Georgia this afternoon and they have found their furrever home here in Colorado. Their names are Geno and Fleury, and they are both Bengal sisters. Mom rescued them from a shelter, and it would be appreciated if you could visit their page and welcome them to CC! Dear Chitah
Mom Amanda here bringing the news that our dear Lynx has crossed the Rainbow Bridge tonight. She was only 4 years old, and unexpectedly developed a type of stomach cancer that she unfortunately could not fight through. There is a great pain that comes with the loss of such a wonderful companion, but I know we will be in your prayers and Lynx will forever be in our hearts. She was truly a cat that could never be replaced and was very special to all. I will miss her greatly, thank you for your support and love through this difficult time, it means a lot to us.Come visit me, Fleury, Angel Lynx & Geno.

So sorry you haven't received a blog from us lately, dads parents have been sick in the hospital so we've been busy caring for them. However, they have made a full recovery and are coming home today! Today we're getting all our last minute gifts together and wrapping them up in a bow. I can really feel the Christmas spirit in the air! Mom's getting mad at me for chewing on the green stuff she put on the railing, but I am just a cat you know! Sorry for the c/p today, we hope your having a great holiday season! Happy belated birthday to you and mom! and Happy October to you! Mom and little one went shopping at the Halloween store for decorations yesterday. They brought back a whole bunch of stuff with all kinds of funny smells! Seems like this year is going to be full of all kinds of frights! I just hope they don't try to dress me up in anything. The vet called Tyler’s adopted Mom to see if she would foster this little guy as the odds are stacked against a kitten so young surviving without a feline mom and the human mom must provide everything a cat mom normally gives her kitten. She not only agreed to foster Tyler, she fell in love with him and couldn't let him go!
On Thursday, July 23, Tiny Tyler will celebrate his very 1st Birthday, a major milestone considering his rough start in life. We would love for the caring CC community of cats to join together on WED, July 22 and vote for Tyler #124579 so that we give him a very special COTD badge on his page Thursday morning as our Birthday present to him and his incredible Mom! Certainly, the fact that Tyler not only survived but thrived is cause to celebrate! Tyler’s pictures document his growth into a handsome long haired gray and white fella who loves his family, plays hide & seek, jumps high for his crinkle ball, and enjoys a good cat chase. According to CATOPIA by Anne Mortimer “Kittens are born blind & helpless. After a few days, they will crawl a short distance to find their mom and at about 10 days open their eyes. IF a kitten is to be an affectionate animal companion as an adult, it NEEDS a lot of SOCIAL CONTACT from this critical stage, being gently held, stroked, and talked to. At 3 weeks, kittens can stand, and begin to play, and by 7 weeks they are running, jumping, climbing ... and getting into all kinds of mischief!” Tyler certainly got what he needed and we are glad he did!

Please pounce over on WED July 1st with a COTD vote of support for the positively purrty and well traveled shelter rescue Miss Prudence #106518. Hard to believe but Prudence was found dumped in a box with her tiny 3 kittens that were barely a couple weeks old. After her local Humane Society could place her weaned kittens up for adoption, Prudence went to PetSmart in hopes of securing her own Adoption. In April, 2005, Prudence was adopted by her Mom and they have been best friends since! Prudence is probably one of CC’s most traveled rescue kitties, having been to Spain, Tenerife, Canary Islands, and Switzerland. She currently lives in Vero Beach, FL with her Mom and recently adopted brother Simba (also adopted from PetSmart Shelter Adoptions!).
Just about every day positively pretty Prudence gives her Mom socks or stuffed animals as gifts. She takes them from her Mom’s room and brings them out to the hallway, meowing until her Mom comes and gets her presents! In exchange, her Mom will kiss Prudence and give her treats. Prudence also lets her Mom know when the litter box is dirty and knows how to turn the front doorknob in an effort to get outside! Once while her Mom was watching Prudence on the front porch outside (before she started keeping her indoors because of too much wildlife that could eat a kitty!), a neighbor’s big dog came in the front yard. Prudence did not like that one bit! She chased after the dog scratching at his legs. He ran away tail between his legs and never came back.

We are back on line!
I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to answer your e-mail! It got crazy around here for a while... mom got sick for about a month and then Frankie ran and won his COTD, and now mom is a summer camp counselor and so we haven’t had much of a chance to get online. But she has today off and we are going to try to say hi to everyone so that they know that we haven’t dropped off the CC!
Frankie has been having a fine old time playing with all his angel friends. (And I think he may have a couple of crushes developing on some very beautiful Angel kitties! MOL) He is still so touched that everyone voted for him to get his COTD. But he hasn’t let it go to his head. He is still the sweet loving and humble kitty that he has always been!
Charlie has been being Charlie. He has been being such a boy lately! He has been getting into fights every time anyone lets him out of the house. So then he gets grounded, and when Grandma lets him back out… he fights again. He usually only gets a scratch or two- no major damage. But the last time he wasn’t so lucky. He came home with a big chunk torn out of one of his pudgy checks! Mom got so upset, but the vet says that he is fine, and that it isn’t infected. Mom just has to watch it to make sure it doesn’t get any signs of infection. But mom says that this and one other thing has earned him a trip back to the vet to get his big boy surgery!
Speaking of the vet: Mom took me the other day. And everyone was so nice to me, wanting to hold me and love on me, that is until… the checkup! They gave me shots and did all kinds of embarrassing things! Mom says I only have to do this once a year as long as I stay healthy, so I am! Oh- guess what? I actually weigh 4 pounds now! (16 months old and finally weigh 4 lbs!) And the vet told mom that I was through growing. I am just always going to be tiny and petite. (That is the other reasons that Charlie is getting fixed. If I had his kittens, it could hurt me badly. So many people wanted one of our kittens, but it isn’t going to happen, Thank Goodness!)
Oh- excitement out here in the country. We live about 5-10 miles from an airbase, and they do all these trainings. One training they were teaching the flight crew how to use infer-red vision, and they saw this huge creature. So they called the Game and Wildlife people. They investigated and found a 14 foot long alligator swimming down the creek with a whole deer in his mouth! They caught him a couple of miles from our house! Can you believe it? And we live in Central Arkansas! We don’t have alligators! All the rain that we got back in April and May must have caused him to swim up from down South, and then the rain stopped and he got stuck here. Shiver! I told Charlie that Angle Frankie must have been watching out for him or he would have been a gator snack! MOL He asked me how I thought he got that gash out of his check, and told me he taught that gator a lesson! MOL Boys!

I have the right too assist in any food preparation , cooking, cleaning or eating that may occur in the home
I have the right to wake yoou at three in the moorning if I find my food dish is not to my satisfaction.
I have the right to tip over any water container i deem unsuitable for consumption.
I have the right too curse at squirrels and birds that may dare to pass my windows.
I have the right too inspect any grocery items that come into the home. Further I have the right to inhabit any paper bag or box that you bring home for as long as I wish.
I have the right to nap at any time i please without the distraction of being moved just because you want too sit down,wash your hands or use the computer keyboard.
I have the right to fall asleep on the top of anything thats warm.
I have the right to assist in any changing of the bed linens too chase the phantom creatures that hide beneath the covers.
I have the right too look aloof when scolded for mistaking your toes for one of those pesky phantom creatures.
I have the right too kill paper-towel rolls that might sneak up on you at night.
I have the right to your fullest amount of attention anytime you sit down to read or work.
And, finally, I have the right to be loved, petted, pampered and entertained, for, as you know, the best things in life... purr.

This weather is crazy here! 10 days in a row of thunder storms, tornado's, and hail. Its summer for goodness sakes, where's our sun? I guess we just have to wait a little more. How have you been? Mom and the family went out to the festival they have here. Tons of carnival rides, free concerts, good food and shopping booths. It sounded like fun, but I wasn't aloud to go. This gorgeous black and white kitty showed up in the backyard of Vegas, Bogart and Bombay one day and liked it so much, she decided to stay. After about two months, she got used to her new mom and allowed her take her to the vet and was made an official member of the family. She enjoys hanging out with Bogart - who she looks a lot like, don’t you think? Her favorite foods are Temptations and Fancy Feast. When she isn’t sleeping with her pawents, you can find her hanging out on the couch, bed or any open chair. Thank you so much for what you did for me! First, on my birthday, you made me feel so special and loved and I didn't think any one would even remember! Then, the day after my birthday, I came on CC to thank you all for such a purr-fect birthday, and what did I see?....I was COTD!!! I had never ever ever expected anything like that. It was the best best BEST surprise you could have given me! I never knew how caring you all are and how sweet. PLEASE VOTE ANGEL FRANKIE #107009 FRIDAY 6/12
ANGEL FRANKIE found his furrever home, shortly after his new Mom was diaognosed with cancer. She lost her ability to have children, but Angel Frankie filled the empty spot in the family. He helped her through the long ordeal and allowed her to put all her love into him as he took a lot of my grief from her. They had eight years together, the last four with him being very ill. He had Mega Colon. They were able to extend his life for four years as he lived with this disease. But as he had helped his Mom through her illness, she was there through his. His quality of life stayed good, and he died in her arms, knowing that he was the kitty love of her life. His motto, "Love given, is Love recieved". Wherever his Mom was, that is where he would be also..Angel Frankie knows how much he was loved and is missed..He would like very much to make Mom proud, by shining in Saturday evenings sky for his Mom..Please stop by Friday and help this precious Angel do just that!! He will thank you from the Rainbow Bridge! It's been a tough day here, we got 2 inches worth of golf ball sized hail. All the trees in the neighborhood are destroyed, there's nothing left of our flowers or mom's garden, so I guess we're done for the season. They actually had to bring a snow plow on our streets to clear all the hail, it looks like it snowed here! Hopefully it will all go away soon, we can't take much more. It was a beautiful Summer day on a country road. The little kitten sat by the side of the road trying to figure out which way was home. Hours went by as she walked and tried to find her home. Many cars went by without stopping. Then a car stopped and a lady got out to pick up the kitten. She cuddled the baby, soothing her before she put her in the car. She couldn't keep the pretty Tabby Dilute, but she found a kind person who placed it in a loving furrever home. Her new Mom named her Kuira and introduced her to her adoptive Grandma Snowbell. Kuira the baby and Snowbell the Grandma soon bonded. Kuria has a secret -- she does not bathe herself, she waits for Grandma Snowbell to clean her up, MOL! This precious little girl was dropped off at a shelter with her littermates when she was 4 weeks old. Her mom’s heart just melted when she saw Emma and noticed her beautiful coat was a perfect color combination of her three siblings. Her favorite tricks are playing with her stuffed unicorn and crinkle balls. She can also drink from the faucet and just loves playing in water. When Emma isn’t wrestling with Charley, chasing Jack or playing with Molly’s tail, you can find her snoozing on the back of the couch. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts! We are overwhelmed by all the visits from so many sweet kitties! We heard from lots of old friends, some we hadn't heard from in a while, and met lots of new friends that we look forward to getting to know better. The gift of a visit from so many of you to help us celebrate my COTD and our group birthday & adoptiversary is one we will treasure forever!
Mom says today is the day we're going to work on our Thank Yous! It's hard to get anything done when there's a dog at the front door wanting to out (Penny the Rat Terrier) and one at the back door wanting to come in (Sheba the German Shepherd). And then there's Ole Blue Eyes (Peanut) meowing in the kitchen wanting treats, and Sia-Meezer busy cleaning off the mantle sending everything to the floor! Not to mention Deidre jumping in and out of Mom's lap every two minutes, and yours truly trying to walk on Mom's hands while she types! We can hear Bitsy Boo Boo snarling at Sweetie Pie, and Ole Bullet is barking his head off. Need we go on? HeHe! Thank you for coming by to visit and helping make my special day even more special! It sure is good to be back home! We had a good trip, and saw many interesting things and met some interesting people. Have you been up to anything exciting lately? We stayed up last night watching the hockey game, and were very thrilled that the Penguins won 4-2! It's a tough series, but we'll be watching on the edge of our seats till the end! VOTE ANGEL ASHES #101450 FRI 6/5!
I miss my 6 sisters and 1 brother, in which, I was the eldest. My Mom is still so heart broken over my passing, but she knows that I am waiting for her at the rainbow bridge. I was brought home by my mom, who saw a "free kittens" sign along the road and couldn't pass it up. She says that she knew that I was calling out to her to come get me! Skamper, who passed about 7 years ago, was the elder cat before me. When he passed, I missed him so badly. It is great to see him again!! I loved my home, but I did not like all the craziness of being 1 of 8. I just liked to be by myself, but I dealt with all my siblings for my Mom. My favorite food was Chicken!! Mom would make me special chicken without spices. I loved to greet my special people at the door up on my back legs, in which I received the nickname of "weasel kitty" by my favorite human boy Josh. We grew up together and I miss him. I was so excited to see him when he would come back from college on the weekends. My mom and friend, Mitch, said I had the loudest Purr that they ever heard. They could hear me the whole way across the room..ANGEL ASHES JOINED US AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE ON 4/03/09, AFTER LOSING HER BATTLE WITH CANCER..HER FAMILY MISSES HER TERRIBLY, AND SHE MISSES THEM! Chitah, you are a really beautiful kitty. Mom had a rescued Norwegian Forest Cat for many years. Last, but not least is KALI 72152. For 14 months she has been happy in her loving Michigan furever home with three siblings: Kelsee, Winston, and Jesse. This long haired beauty with an orange blaze on her nose is also sister to two precious Angel kitties: Shadow and Jinx. Being the newbie KALI has occasional bouts with Kelsee but finds herself closest to Winston, who is her bed buddy. KALI'S life didn't begin with happiness, in fact, she and her 6 kittens were tossed out of a moving car on the highway and was found on the roadside left to fend for herself and her little ones. Shame on that person!!!! Angels sent a caring lady to their rescue who took them into her caring home where the kittens were raised and weaned off of Mama KALI. All of her babies were adopted to good homes. KALI'S fate was decided when the rescue home got a dog, which scared her, so the kind lady, who was a friend of Kali's Mom, asked if she could take her in. That was a joyful day for sweet KALI. On any given day, you'll find KALI playing with her favorite catnip mouse, having Mom hold the string with feathers on it for her to paw at, or going outside on a warm sunny day to soak up the rays. KALI'S last into this wonderful family but not the least. She is deeply loved by her family, especially close to Mom, and happily engaged to JB here on the CC. In KALI'S own words you'll want to hear about her involvement in the MHL: "Well, I am on the Kitty Avalanche {as a fill-in} and my player scored the winning goal in an OT game against Chicago {Orange Crush} {The Kitty Avalanche follows the Red Wings}..it was tied 1-1 going into OT and Helm {my Player} scored the goal that took the Wings to the Finals...so I am a star and a hero for the Kitty Avalanche...even though my actual real team is "The Slammers", but they got knocked out, so we are fill in kitties..imagine that..a fill in kitty as a hero of the game!!!" Congratulations Kali - we're proud of you! KALI 72152 has left "pawprints on our hearts" and her pawprints from the roadside have been erased. Will you please leave your pawprint on her vote button to award her COTD badge?

You certainly heard of the famous Unsinkable Molly Brown who survived the Titanic! Please meet our darling COTD candidate for Wednesday, JUNE 3rd, the inspirational #79742 Clawdette Molly! Sweet Clawdette had a truly hard & dangerous beginning, found outside pregnant & surviving with an injured eye, living under a drug dealer’s porch in a crime infested neighborhood. Luckily, Clawdette’s adopted family is part of a No-Kill Rescue group so Clawdette was placed in their foster care until just the right home could be found. Molly “The Claw” Clawdette, with interesting tuxedo markings, gave birth to 5 all white kittens. She was spayed & her kittens, once weaned, were placed in loving furever homes. In the process, “The Claw” was transformed from a fearful upset stray to a darling affectionate & loving housecat, “Clawdette”! She is permanently blind in her left eye due to the poor condition in which she was found.
A new page was turned in her amazing story & we are proud to say “Clawdette” Molly earns her living as a loving therapy cat. It turns out the founder of the rescue group lives but a few blocks down from Clawdette’s foster Mom’s home. The lady is now elderly and disabled, for the most part, bedridden. The lady’s caregivers welcomed the idea of a special gentle cat coming in to brighten their home and warm the days of a kind woman who dedicated so much to rescue work. Molly Clawdette can be found spending time on the lady’s bed, giving purr therapy! She also loves to sun herself in the huge picture window to recharge her purr batteries. When the elderly lady met Clawdette, she was told about Clawdette being partially blind and the lady said that was OK, because she is too-- they would share this condition and help each other! She has been such a treasure, brightening everyone’s day, when her therapy assignment is done, Molly Clawdette will come back to her Mom for keeps!
Molly Clawdette #79742 is an inspiration to all rescues, surviving a harsh beginning & learning to give so much love in return to humans who need her soft caring spirit. Molly’s Mom is also special, working as a Head Start Preschool Teacher and volunteering with her Rescue Group. She is protective of all her babies ~ just ask Barney, Basil, YoYo, and Heffner!
