Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We have been having some strange issues with CC that started last night. We keep getting “logged out” automatically, having to log back in over and over again. Very frustrating!

Callie has been doing great taking her antibiotics. She likes the tuna water chaser more than she dislikes her meds. Plus getting her off guard in the mornings seems to be working. Callie should be finished with her meds by Wednesday. Hooray!

My Dad woke up this morning with a bad head cold, sneezing and coughing. And are you ready for this? We got RAIN last night! Not a lot- .25 inches, but what a wonderful surprise! We’ll take anything we can get.

We have sweet Nosey in our prayers sweet furiend. If she wasn't getting the right dose of her medicine, could it be that she will get better soon? We have our paws crossed!

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need. We hope you’re having a nice weekend so far!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We had a little excitement here last night, but it ended well. About 6:30 last night, Ganesh, our next door neighbor knocked on the door. He was frantic! Sugar Bear had gotten outside. Mom and Dad opened their garage door and the door that leads to the back yard with the cat fence, and they went out on foot to search the neighborhood. Mom asked her neighbor to wait at his home in case Sugar Bear showed up. By 9 pm, no luck and Dad had to go to bed. Mom stayed outside with a flashlight and a bag of cat treats, combing the neighborhood. Mom came home about 10 pm, told the neighbor to leave his garage open for the night and she would do the same. Maybe Sugar Bear would come home on her own. Mom closed the door to our backyard and decided to take one more walk around the block. That’s when she heard a faint mew! It was coming from our backyard. Yep, Sugar Bear had gotten locked in our backyard. She must have run back there when the search was on and was hiding really good because Mom and Dad both looked back there very carefully several times. (Obviously not good enough!) Mom called her neighbor told them the good news and it took her another half hour to scoop up Sugar Bear in the backyard and then take her home. Whew! Mom scolded Sugar Bear, but then had to give her a big hug and kiss. Sugar Bear was covered with leaves and twigs. Mom cleaned her up and took her home. I’ll bet Sugar Bear slept good last night!

My Mom held Callie when they woke up this morning and Dad got her medicine down before she even knew what was happening. Mom had some tuna water ready as a chaser. Success!

We have sweet Nosey in our prayers. We hope she takes her medicine and pray it helps. Give your family soft angel kitty kisses for us.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My sister Callie had her second dose of tuna flavored antibiotics this morning, but not without causing a fuss first. My Mom couldn’t find Callie and wanted to give her her medicine before Dad left for work so he could assist. There aren’t too many places to hide in such a small house, but leave it to a smart and wily kitty to find a great hiding place. Callie managed to get her body behind the china cabinet and burrow herself into a hole that’s built into the back of the cabinet! Luckily Dad hadn’t left yet, so he could move the heavy cabinet away from the wall. Mom squeezed in to grab Callie and whew, Callie got her meds. Afterwards Mom held Callie in her arms for several minutes to make sure Callie didn’t throw up.

Mom was curious and tasted the medicine for herself. It smells like tuna, but the taste is still yucky. Maybe the pharmacist needs a new recipe. MOL!

Yippee! Nosey is starting to eat on her own! Maybe as she eats more, she'll feel better and better and keep eating so she can gain some weight. We have our paws crossed and of course your family is always in our prayers.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Not too much to meow about today. My Mom picked up Callie’s “flavored” medicine at the vet and she had to run some errands for Dad. The weather cooled off, only making it to 72 degrees today. Very nice for catnapping in the windows for all of us.

We have sweet Nosey and your Mom in our prayers sweetie. We hope the sun came out for them today. Give them warm, comforting hugs for us.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My sister Callie is doing fine, getting lots of attention from Mom. She hasn’t had any more mishaps in the litter box and she hasn’t thrown up any more fur balls, so we’re pretty sure Callie was just stressing out from when Mom was away. Callie even felt up to a stroller ride this morning. Dad went with us. It was quiet on the trail, no humans or any yappy doggies. We haven’t seen our quail furiends again, but we leave birdseed just in case.

We hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday with your loved ones. Give sweet Nosey a hug for us too. We hope she's eating today!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Sorry we missed meowing at our furiends yesterday. My Mom took my sister Callie to the vet for a check up. Mom was worried about Callie the day before when she peed outside the litter box. Then Thursday night Callie threw up a hairball. Afterwards Callie kept coughing as if something was caught in her throat. This lasted for a few minutes and then she settled down, but maybe once every hour she would start to cough again. This went on most of the night. So off they went to the vet on Friday morning.

The vet needed a urine sample, but Callie had peed on Mom when she put her in the cat carrier (she always does that.). The vet gave Callie a diuretic and let Mom wait with her while it took effect. Mom read to Callie from James Herriot’s Cat Stories book while they waited. The vet got a urine sample, gave Callie an examination - said her heart was beating very fast, but that was normal for a frightened cat. Callie never coughed once while at the vet! The vet asked if anything had changed at home, so Mom told her she had been gone for almost 2 weeks. The vet nodded knowingly and said Callie is probably stressed out. The vet took a blood sample too, but the results won’t be in until Monday. Callie’s urine sample did not have blood, which made my Mom very happy. The vet, whose name is Dr. Natt, weighed Callie and she has lost another ½ pound, so that was good mews.

The rest of us are doing fine. Callie has been getting all of Mom’s attention. I think she planned it that way. MOL!

When my Mom first had to force feed Callie with an eyedropper, she hated it too. But after about a week, she really didn't mind it. I think at first they think they are going to get something that tastes bad, like medicine, but then they realize - hey- it's just food and it makes my tummy feel better! We're keeping Nosey and your sweet Mom in our prayers dear furiend.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We went for our stroller walk an hour late this morning because someone had peed outside of one of the litter boxes last night, so Mom had to clean up the mess. I won’t name names, but I’m pretty sure it was a calico cat. Hee, hee, hee! Mom isn’t sure why it happened, but she is going to keep a close eye on Callie. Callie has suffered from UTI’s and bladder stones before, but it has been years since she’s had a problem. There’ s no sign of blood in her urine, so Mom is hoping it was just an accident.:(

Anyway, an hour late on the trail by our house means a lot more people were out walking their dogs, so it was a thrilling ride this morning. Big dogs are always curious about what’s in the stroller, but most dog owners try to keep their dogs at bay. My Mom is thinking of putting a “Baby On Board” sign on our stroller. MOL!

It’s still a bit windy here today and is going to warm up to the 80’s. The news is warning about a high fire danger the next couple of days. Yikes! Not good when you’re having a drought. Imagine what the summer has in store for us!

We're so sorry to hear Nosey is still so congested. When my Mom had a sinus infection, her doctor told her not to eat dairy products like yogurt, cheese and ice cream because they contain a mucous-forming agent. We're not sure if it's the same for cats. Has your Mom tried mixing Nosey's canned food with a little bit of water and squirting it into her mouth with an eye dropper or syringe? That's what my Mom had to do with Callie to get her to eat her prescription wet cat food. That might get Nosey going on eating it on her own. We'll keep Nosey in our prayers dear furiend. Give your sweet Mom a hug for us.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
It was another windy and chilly morning for our stroller walk. That darned Mom of ours kept sneezing as we walked along the trail, scaring away all the birds. Must be allergies. We could see tiny white dust flying through the air. Yikes!

Today is the day for all of us to get our Revolution Flea/Heartworm Treatments. Whitey got it first so we’re all on to what Mom is up to and have decided not to follow her around as much as we have been. MOL!

Mom washed all our beddings yesterday and changed all the kitty litter boxes. Today we fear the vacuum monster will back out. We can’t believe we actually missed our Mom so much! Okay, I know - we have to take the bad with the good. (Heavy sigh!)

We hope sweet Nosey is feeling a little better today. Hopefully your weather will get a little warmer. Shouldn't warmer weather be good for Nosey? Give Nosey a soft hug for us. We have her in our prayers dear furiend.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The day started out cool with a strong breeze on our stroller walk. The leaves were blowing all around and over the trail, keeping Callie and me on high alert. We didn’t see our quail furiends, but we left them some birdseed and we filled up our bucket by the dry creek with water. The temperatures are supposed to get to the high 80’s by Friday, not good mews for the drought. :(

My Mom went next door to visit Ebony and Sugar Bear today and they are both doing fine. They crawled all over Mom to welcome her home and Ebony sat in Mom’s lap during her entire visit. We are all still following our Mom around the house, until she brought out the vacuum monster that is. Mom knows how to clear a room. MOL! We all slept with her again last night, my sister Callie always getting the prime position on Mom’s pillow, but I managed to snuggle in Mom’s arm. Whitey and Orangie like to lay against Mom’s legs now. Luckily Mom doesn’t move around a lot at night, because she couldn’t even if she wanted too!

We're glad to hear sweet Nosey is eating on her own. That's wonderful mews. A steamy bathroom sounds great for her congestion. We have our paws crossed for her and of course we have Nosey and your whole family in our constant prayers. Thanks for sending the angel dust to my Dad. You are such a dear furiend.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Whoo hoo! We’re back! I mean my Mom is back from her visit to GM’s in San Diego. We were all very happy to see her when she came home, even Callie who is usually mad at Mom when she comes home after being away. We followed our Mom all around as she unpacked and we all slept on and around her last night in bed. MOL! Mom didn’t mind. She said she missed us too!

Dad did a great job taking care of us, with my help of course. The only bad thing that happened was that my Dad hurt his back when cleaning out our litter box. Not too bad though. He just can’t bend down very well, so Mom made him soak in a hot bathtub. Guess he needs to clean out our litter boxes more often Hee, hee, hee!

We have a lot of reading and catching up to do, so we’ll eventually answer all our blogs. We just wanted to let you know we’re all doing fine. GM is doing fine too. My Mom told us it gets harder and harder to say goodbye to GM, but it’s wonderful to be back home.

Hooray! We just read your great mews about Nosey! An abscess tooth sounds very serious and painful. We're glad the vet pulled it out. Does that mean Nosey's eye will get better? We hope so. We'll keep Nosey in our prayers dear furiend.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We’re looking forward to our beautiful mew Queen Edina’s reign in April and we hope King Hami has a happy retirement. We’ve been lucky enough to be furiends with Sakura, our COTM nominee for May, for quite a while now. Sakura is as smart, kind and witty as she is beautiful. This should be an exciting month for Cat Channel. A few months ago we didn’t even think CC would still be around, but here we are - like the energizer bunny; we just keep on going! Hooray!

It was a bit chilly here this morning, but the sun is shining so all of us kitties are sunning out in the backyard while Mom gets ready for her trip to San Diego. We’ll miss our furiends very much and we’ll keep all of you and your families in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh sweetie, we will keep Nosey and Percey in our prayers. We hope Percey recovers nicely from being spayed. Ouch! Give precious Nosey and Percey warm hugs for us.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and wishes for a blessed Easter.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Sorry we missed meowing to our furiends yesterday. My Dad had the day off from school for Cesar Chavez Day, so he took Mom out to lunch by the ocean in Santa Cruz and they spent the day walking around the small beach town. That meant us kitties were stuck at home, but it was a nice sunny day, not too warm and purrfect for catnapping in the windows. And Mom didn’t forget us...she brought back some of the salmon she ordered at the restaurant and we all loved it! Yummy!

My Mom is making us Easter baskets early, since she won’t be here on Easter Sunday. (Mom is leaving for GM’s house on Friday April 3rd, coming back April 11.) She’s filling them with our favorite treats and catnip stuffed bunnies and carrots. We’ve been watching her fill the baskets, but she has managed to keep them out of our reach - so far!

Ebony and Sugar Bear are doing just fine. My Mom took Easter baskets to their house this morning for both kitties and one for their pawrents. Ebony still likes to jump in my Mom’s arms when she visits, something he (thankfully) only does for my Mom.

That's great news that Nosey was waiting for breakfast, right? Give her a warm hug for us and let her know we have her in our prayers. We'll be praying for Percey's trip to the vet to go without a hitch. Give everyone a soft angel kitty kiss for us.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

“Cats have a sort of game they play when they meet. A player alternates between watching the strange cat and ignoring her, grooming or examining everything around herself - a dead leaf, a cloud - with complete absorption. It is almost accidental how the two cats approach, a sidelong step and then sitting again. This often ends in a flurry of spitting and slashing cats, too fast to see clearly, and then one or the other (or both) of the cats leap out of range. The game can have one exchange or many - and is not so different from the meetings of women.” - Kij Johnson =^.^=

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
It was a warm 78 degrees here yesterday, purrfect for catnapping in the backyard. Since Whitey and Orangie won’t lay down in their cat beds on the deck yet, my Mom laid out a couple of the cat carrier crate mats on the ground for them and sure enough, Whitey and Orangie made themselves comfy on top of them. Go figure! So while Mom was cleaning house and doing laundry, we all stayed outside for several hours. No cat fighting, no bird or lizard hunting...just the four of us napping in harmony. We could see our Mom peeking at us every now and then, wondering what was going on! Geez! Is it really so surprising for cats to be well behaved? MOL!

We know your Mom must be so worried about sweet Nosey, but it sounds like Nosey is doing fine and we know your Mom and the family will take good care of her. We're glad Nosey doesn't like going up the stairs. That would be scary if she can't see that well! We have her in our prayers dear furiend. Give your family warm hugs for us.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Oh sweetie! We;re so sorry to hear about Nosey's eye. We saw the picture your Mom sent and can see how small her left eye looks. As long as Nosey isn't hurting, we know your family will make her as comfortable as possible. At least Nosey knows her way around the house, right? We hope your house doesn't have stairs. That might be difficult. We'll keep Nosey in our prayers dear furiend and light a healing candle for her tonight. Give Nosey and your pawrents warm hugs for us.

My sister Callie and I went for our stroller walk at 6:30 this morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Quail. And we did! They were in a group again scratching the ground under some brush along the trail. Mom says they remind her of chickens, only tiny. We didn’t want to scare them so we parked our stroller and Mom sat on the ground, tossing a few kernels of birdseed at a time. It was still kind of dark outside, but we were able to watch them for several minutes, until a jogger ran by and scared them away. They didn’t fly away; they just seemed to scurry off under the thicker brush. It’s so cute how they all stay together in a bunch. Mom scattered the rest of the birdseed in the bushes before we left. Can’t imagine ever eating anything so cute!

My Mom left us all alone to do some shopping today, and we were all ready to go outside in the backyard when she got home. Whitey and Orangie stayed for about an hour, watching the birds in the trees. Callie and I prefer catnapping on the patio chairs under the table in the shade. Plus it’s a good hiding spot! But that darned Mom of ours is always watching us now. Drat!

We hope you have a nice, warm, relaxing weekend with your furiends and family.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Today is supposed to get to 85 degrees. We could tell at 7 a.m. on our stroller walk it was already getting warm. We looked for the little Quail family but didn’t see them. My Mom scattered some birdseed where we saw them yesterday, hoping they’ll come back. We filled the bucket by the creek with water and ran into several of our dog walker friends. The big dogs like to sniff our stroller, but only the little terrier yappy dog barks at us. Callie hisses at him and I just give him a bored look. MOL!

Whitey and Orangie were in the backyard, digging in the dirt under the tree, so Mom had to take a look. They were after a lizard! He was just a little guy, so Mom was brave and picked him up and put him in the bushes in the front yard. He should be safe there. Whitey and Orangie just kept staring at the dirt under the tree, wondering where their mew furiend went. Silly girls!

Oh no! Poor Nosey! Maybe since she doesn't seem to be in pain, her eye just might need some drops or an ointment to clear it up. The vet shouldn't have to run tests for that. We're so sorry dear furiend. We'll be praying for sweet Nosey. God bless your precious family.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
It’s starting to warm up here today. On our stroller walk this morning, we saw a small group of the cutest little plump birds we had ever seen. My Mom asked a man that was walking on the trail if he knew what they were. He said they were Quails. We watched them for a few minutes as they walked around together scratching the ground and they didn’t seem to be afraid of us. My Mom is going to bring a small bag of birdseed tomorrow in case we see them again.

My Mom will be going to San Diego to visit GM on April 3rd through the 11th, so she’s starting to get the house prepared. My Dad will be on Spring Break from school, so he and I will be in charge. MOL! Dad does a good job taking care of us. He doesn’t like to snuggle with us, but we never miss a meal and he’s always giving us treats, so we should be fine.

Hee, hee, hee! I bet Yogi was just trying to help your Mom change the table cloth! We like to help our Mom when she changes the bed sheets. At least we think we're helping! Watch out for that vacuum monster! He can be fast!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The rain from yesterday came and went and we are expecting temperatures in the mid eighties by Friday. Yikes! Today it’s nice outside with a cool breeze. Mom took Callie and me for our stroller walk and we saw several squirrels running along the trail and lots of birds. (Sigh!) We had to watch from the confines of our stroller, as Callie and I licked our chops!

Whitey and Orangie were patiently waiting to go outside in the backyard when we got home. Since Mom brought out the vacuum monster, all four of us are sunning in the backyard, or hiding out! My Mom kept peeking out at us to make sure we weren’t up to no good. No privacy or trust around here for a cat!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We hope you had a wonderful weekend with your family. We got a little bit of rain this morning, just enough to wet the ground and water the plants. We hadn’t expected it so we were thrilled!

Remember the little bird I brought home for my Mom last week? Well after my Mom had put him safely back in the backyard, he recovered, but couldn’t seem to fly. He was hopping all around the deck and the plants, so the backyard was off limits to us cats ALL weekend. My Mom saw two birds always checking on him, probably his family. The little guy was drinking out of our water bowl and he had plenty of bugs to eat in the yard, so Mom just waited and prayed he would get his wings back. Finally last night, he started to jump onto the table and bench. A few hours later, Mom and Dad saw him fly up into the tree! Hooray! He made it and now we are free to go back outside! That’s the last time I bring home a gift for my Mom. MOL!

My Mom hates it when the grocery store restocks the pet food shelves with new stuff! What about us cats?!

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Remember the little birdie I caught yesterday and brought as a present to my Mom? Mom set him outside and we thought he had flown away! He didn’t! Before Mom let us out this morning, she had a feeling she better double check to make sure he was gone. The little guy was hopping around the planters on the deck. He seems fine, just unable to fly. Dad thinks he’s a baby bird and can’t fly yet. So the backyard is off limits to us cats! The little birdie is hopping all around backyard as we watch from the sliding glass door. Our backyard is the safest place for him, since no one can get in through the cat fence. Mom hopes he gets his pilot’s wings quickly. She put bread and bird seed out there. We saw him sitting on our water bowl drinking OUR water! Mom has seen two birds coming to visit him, thinking they must be his family. But there really isn’t anything they can do until he can fly. My sisters are not happy with me at all, since I was the one who caught the little guy! So much for trying to do something nice for my Mom.:(

A mouse in your Mom's shoe?! That must have been exciting! MOL! My Mom said to me, "Whiskers, don't you have enough toys?!" Hey, it was a gift!

We're glad your paw rents got their tax refund. Petco or Petsmart time! Hee, hee, hee!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My Mom came home from her dental appointment yesterday with an awful headache. We laid down with her and gave her purr therapy. Even Whitey and Orangie! All 4 of us on the bed with Mom in the afternoon.

When Mom got up to fix dinner and feed us, she let us outside in the backyard. She came to check on us and found me, Whiskers, sitting in the living room with what she thought was cat toy. It wasn’t! It was a little bird and it was alive! Mom threw a napkin over him and shooed us all into the bedroom. Mom was able to pick up the little guy and set him by the tree in the backyard. His wings fluttered, but he just sat there. After checking on him every hour (we had to stay in the house!), Mom saw him on the opposite side of the deck and two birds were flying around him. Mom left them alone until Dad got home. They both looked for the birdie, but he was gone! Mom was so happy and kind of upset with all of us. My Dad reminded her it was a gift from me, Whiskers, and I could have easily killed the bird, but instead I brought it inside for Mom. So Mom and I made up. MOL!

We are so glad to hear K. Spongie's Mom Lynn is doing okay too. We hope the gall bladder surgery will make her feel a lot better and maybe now this is the road to recovery for her!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
This morning after Callie and I had our stroller walk with Mom, we came home to find Whitey and Orangie waiting patiently by the sliding back door. The sun was out early, so we all ran outside together. Whitey and Callie are getting really good at ignoring each other, without any growling or hissing. Callie and I usually go right to our favorite chairs with the cushions around the backyard table. Today Whitey and Orangie laid down next to the outside cat beds on the deck, to watch the birds. Those two cats still haven’t figured out the beds are there for them to catnap in!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We all had to have our Revolution flea medicine put on us today, so we must not have the “luck of the Irish!” My Mom started cooking a Beef Stew this morning for St. Patrick’s Day and she saved us some beef stew meat as a treat. We’re all mad at her right now, but maybe later we’ll take the bribe. MOL!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We hope you had a relaxing weekend. We had lots of company on Sunday, so it wasn’t relaxing for us cats. And now today the vacuum monster has been let loose. A cat can’t get a break around here!

The blood test results came back for me from the vet today. I’m good to go, so I’ll be getting my teeth cleaned next month. Not looking forward to that!

The temperature here is back to normal, in the low 70’s. We had a taste of summer this weekend with temp’s in the high 80’s. Today is a good day to catnap upstairs.

Wow! A mew couch for you kitties to catnap on. MOL! None of us cats like the couch much. We prefer our own cat beds. And good thing, because our Dad is a couch hog!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Mom took Callie and me out for our stroller walk early this morning before my visit to the vet. It was still dark and we took a flashlight. The trail has streetlights along the way, but not too many. Mom walked faster than we usually do, so it was a bumpy ride, but kind of fun! Mom doesn’t like to walk in the dark. She gets spooked easily! Hey, I was there to protect us! Mrowwwww, hisssssssssssss! Scared you, didn’t I?
~~~
Okay, I’m home from the vet. I lost a pound in 6 months but the vet said my weight of 13 pounds is normal. A year ago I weighed 14.8 pounds, so naturally my Mom is worried. The vet took some blood for testing and gave me the once over with her cold hands and stethoscope. Ugh! She said my heart was beating very fast, but duh! I was terrified! We should have results on Monday or Tuesday.
The bad mews is I need to have my teeth cleaned! First time ever in 11 years! The vet showed Mom the thin red line around the base of my gums. It’s not bad like Callie’s, but needs to be done. :(
Oh no! Your poor Dad! We hope he didn't hurt his back too badly. Ever since my Dad broke his ankle walking down the stairs (and it wasn't from tripping over one of us!), my Mom and Dad hang on to the railing when they're walking down the stairs. Our next door neighbors, where Ebony and Sugar Bear live, have one of those "Stair Lifts" to carry them upstairs. My Mom wonders why her and Dad ever bought a two story home - but when you're younger, you don't think about stuff like that. As cats, we love the stairs now, but when we get older, we'll all probably be staying downstairs! MOL!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Our Mom had a doctor’s appointment this morning, so us kitties had the house to ourselves. The rain is gone, so it was another sunny day. Since we can’t go outside in the backyard when no one is home, we all picked our favorite napping spots in the windows and slept the day away. Mom is always proud of us when she comes home to find us all catnapping, looking very well behaved. Mom boiled some chicken breasts for us as our reward. Yippee!
Tomorrow I have an appointment at the vet for a check up and vaccinations. I’ve been watching my Mom get the cat carrier nice and cozy, so I know she’s up to something. Who knows, maybe I’ll play nice tomorrow and just get it over with. MOL! (Or not!)
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We finally got some rain here today! Whoo hoo! It’s not much and won’t last but a day, but we’ll take anything we can get. It started early this morning so Callie and I didn’t get our stroller walk. But now our Mom feels bad not taking water to fill the bucket up by the dry creek. So you guessed it! Mom put the two 1 gallon plastic water bottles in our cat stroller and left without us. She wasn’t gone long though. She just filled the bucket and came back. So now our stroller is a cat/water carrier stroller. MOL!
Whitey and Orangie were both waiting by the back door this morning to go outside. Mom let them out so they could see it was raining. They both made a quick lap around the backyard and came running back inside. Guess they forgot what rain feels like!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Another sunny day today and the birdies are out in full force in the backyard. Whitey and Orangie have started waiting by the back door in the morning, eager to get outside and watch the birds. They still don’t lie down in their outdoor cat beds. They both sit on the deck, almost hypnotized by the chirping noises coming from the trees. Yesterday one of the neighborhood cats was walking along our fence, peeking in at us. Whitey saw the cat and run up the tree trunk, hissing all the way. She hit the net around the tree a few times, got mad and ran back inside the house with Orangie following behind her. MOL! The neighborhood cat just stared, unfazed and walked calmly away to the next yard. Callie and I enjoyed the show, then went back to sleep.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We hope you had a relaxing weekend. The weather here is sunny with temperatures in the seventies. My Mom took Callie and me for our cat stroller walk this morning. Orangie seems to be interested in the cat stroller more and more. She likes to sniff around it when we get back. Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Happy Furday! My Mom made a trip to Petco today so we got everything on our wish lists. Mom had twenty dollars worth of coupons to use. Yippee!
Whitey and Orangie have been spending more time in the backyard. They like bird watching. Yesterday they both went into a crazy-cat frenzy and were running up and down the tree trunks in our yard. They can only run up about 6 feet before they bump into the net, but they both got quite a workout. The birdies seem to know they’re safe as long they stay above the net. Callie and I just watched from the comfort of our cat beds on the deck. It was too early in the morning for me. MOL!
Ebony and Sugar Bear are doing fine and so is their mom Abarna. Mom goes over every day to play with them and keep things tidy so Abarna can rest. Sugar Bear loves playing with the fishing pole, running up and down the stairs. When she gets tired, she curls up in the bay window to nap. Ebony doesn’t play as much since he’s older, but he likes to sit on Mom’s lap while she visits with his Mom.
Thanks for Angel dust for my Mom dear furiend. It always helps a lot! Whoo hoo! You finally got some sun! We hope the melting snow doesn't cause any problems for your family. We'll keep you all in our prayers.
If You Give Kitty A Treat... =^.^=
~~~~~
If you give Kitty a treat,
he will want a sip of water.
So you'll fix him a fresh bowl of cool water.

When he’s finished drinking the water,
he will want to dunk one of his toys in the bowl.
When it’s completely submerged,
he will want to scoop it out.

There will be a splash.
Then another.
And another.
Eventually, the only thing left in the bowl will be the toy.
You’ll have to help him get it out and put it somewhere to dry.

When Kitty realizes his front paws are soaked,
he will want to dry them off.
While you go and search for a towel,
Kitty will try to lick the water from his paws.
When that seems like it is taking too long,
he will decide to dry them on the rug.

Kitty will run in circles around the dining room table as fast as he can.
When he can’t run one more step,
he will collapse in a heap.

Exhausted from all this exercise,
Kitty’s stomach will probably start to growl.
If his stomach starts to growl,
Kitty will most definitely want another treat.

And the cycle will continue again….and again….and again…

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My Mom had an appointment at the dentist yesterday. It was supposed to be just a cleaning and exam, but the dentist found a problem in her x-rays and Mom ended up spending 2 and half hours in the dentist chair. When Mom finally came home, her face was numb and she was not a happy camper. She has to go back in two weeks for a crown. (And I don’t mean a Royal crown. Hee, hee, hee!)

I did overhear my Mom on the phone yesterday, making an appointment at the vet for me next Friday! I need two booster shots and Mom wants the doctor to listen to my breathing. She always worries about my asthma flaring up. Lately, Mom hears me wheezing sometimes at night while I’m sleeping. It might be time for a steroid injection. This is only going to happen if my Mom can catch me next Friday. MOL!

Thank goodness Nosey was just hiding somewhere in the house. Whew! We hope it really does warm up for you guys soon. We have your family in our prayers.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We had a great time at King Hami’s Coronation last night. It’s always fun to see our furiends all gussied up and having a wonderful time!

The sun is shining today and it was a chilly 39 degrees when Mom took Callie and me for our stroller walk this morning. (Chilly for us!) Mom is housecleaning again today, so that means the ole vacuum monster is waiting in the hallway.

The little chickadee birdies are out in full force on our backyard deck. Spring must be around the corner. Mom is keeping a close eye on us. She already yelled at me when she saw me in my “panther stance!” That darned Mom keeps scaring the birdies away!

We hope your Mom was able to find Nosey! We didn't know Nosey could go outside. We'll send out meows for Nosey to come out from hiding! Tell your sweet Mom to shake a bag of Temptations. That always gets us coming!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We’re running a little bit late today. My Mom and I were working on my blogs when she got a call from Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Dad, next door. Their Mom Abarna had a doctor’s appointment today, but he was having car problems. My Mom would have lent him one of our cars, but both cars are stick shift and their Dad doesn’t know how to use a clutch. (Dad drives the automatic van to work because of his ankle.) That’s okay; my Mom drove Abarna to see her doctor. Abarna is doing okay, still congested, but nothing that a lot of rest won’t cure.

When Mom came back home, we were all sitting in the bay windows downstairs patiently waiting for her. Mom said we all looked so well behaved and innocent. She looked around to see if we had gotten into anything. Nope! We were purrfect little angels. MOL! Mom opened a fresh bag of Wildside Salmon for us and there were treats all around. Yay!

Hooray! The sun is shining at your home! Now if only the sun could start warming things up. Percey sounds like a funny kitty. So she loves to eat, but remains skinny? We wish we knew that trick. MOL! We'll keep Ling and Nosey in our prayers dear furiend.

Cats Don't Care =^.^=

Cats don't care what dogs think
they just look down and sorta wink.
Perch themselves way up high
the dog barks and starts to cry.
It's really not fair, those agile cats
hiding in places just like rats.
The dog wants to play, join in the fun
chase that cat, make it run.
But cats care less, don't need to play fair
like to tease, don't have a care.
Poor dog sits and wonders why?
Sly old cat naps with a sigh.
Dog keeps guard, waiting for a twitch
cat doesn't move, not even for an itch.
The game goes on, cat unaware
the dogs just pleads, please care.

My Mom was trimming my fur this morning and noticed quite a bit of gray fur on me. She didn’t know cats sometimes go gray as part of the natural aging process. Since I’m a tuxedo cat, the gray fur is more noticeable, especially around my face. Mom says I look dignified. MOL! Hey, I still feel like a kitten!

Prayer For My Cat =^.^=
~~~~~
Treat me kindly, dear master. Accord me the courtesy due to a cat — and I for my part will love you, amuse you and cheer your heart as only a cat can do.
Give me a sunny spot to sleep in when morning dawns and I will warm your lap on cold evenings.
Respect my independence and my need to walk alone at times and I will look after myself, so that you may come and go as you please.
Speak to me in our secret kitty language, let me hear my name sung in the music of your voice, and I will meow happily in sweet harmony with you.
Stroke my fur gently and lovingly and I will soothe you with the soft purrs that can only come from a happy cat.
Indulge my curiosity and I will show you the joys of bird watching, star gazing and other kitty pleasures.
Play with me and see me rejoice! Toss a humble ball of yarn and I will delight you with my cleverness and acrobatic leaps.
But do not laugh at me or allow me to be teased for there is nothing I prize more than my dignity.
Keep my surroundings neat and clean and I will be fastidious in my habits.
Feed me and be fair and I will teach you how to tell “kitty time” by instinct and tummy tunes.
And when I am old and the time comes to say farewell, hold me gently in your arms and I will go without a whimper.
For with you I am trusting, safe and secure. A cat who walked alone but loved you with a full and happy heart.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My sister Callie has almost stopped growling at Whitey and Orangie every time they get close to her. Last night when our pawrents were getting ready for bed, Mom walked into the bedroom and was shocked to see Callie, Whitey and Orangie lying on the bed. Sure, Callie was on the opposite of the bed, but Callie usually waits until Mom gets in bed before she jumps up into her spot. Mom was so happy! (Geez, it doesn’t take much!) I of course, am always neutral and get along with everyone. I knew the girls would come around eventually. MOL!
ADVICE TO A FERAL FRIEND BY FELIX DOMESTICUS
~~~~~
You're thin and hungry yet again,
Your coat is rough and wet with rain,
And during Winter's frost and snow
You will have nowhere warm to go.

You really are a stupid cat,
To tolerate a life like that,
Take my advice, my friend and get
A really well-trained human pet.

I know they're thin upon the ground,
But, nonetheless they can be found.
And you would have a proper home,
With comforts you have never known.

Well-trained pets are quiet and kind,
Obey requests and never mind
How often you go in and out.
They wait on you and never shout.

Fresh milk and water, meat and fish,
Would be provided as you wish;
You would not need to hunt for food;
Only for fun, when in the mood.

Such luxury would turn your head,
Chairs by the fire; a soft, warm bed,
And God made humans with a lap,
Especially to nurse a cat.

So search the neighbourhood with care,
It may take time, but don't despair,
You'll find it well worthwhile to get,
A first-class, loving, human pet.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
There’s not too much going on here today except grocery shopping and house cleaning. That means the vacuum monster has been let loose! Our weather is overcast and windy today. When Mom took Callie and me on our stroller walk this morning, the leaves were blowing all over the place keeping us cats on high alert. MOL!

My Mom went next door to check on our neighbor and Ebony and Sugar Bear. The cats were napping in the bay window and their Mom Abarna is getting stronger every day.

We're so happy to hear Ling is doing so well! Glad to hear you kitties have a wide variety of yummy food and the sun shining through the window!

We hope you all have a quiet, warm and relaxing Monday!

Just A Cat =^.^=
~~~~~
She is - just a cat.
A very small presence
doesn't take up much space.
Large green eyes
much too big for her face.
She is - just a friend.
Happy to be greeting you
while purring a tune
improving how you feel
and never, too soon.
She is - just a joy.
Guarding windows
sleeping on the bed
chasing unseen ghosts
until she's fed.
She is - just yours.
No other will do
her choice is clear
with anyone else
she will just disappear.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The weather is a bit windy and overcast with no rain in sight. We are all doing fine, catnapping in the windows. My Mom made a trip to Petco this morning for our food and a few treats. Today is our Dad’s last day of vacation after a week off. He’s been going with us on our stroller walks and we’ll miss him.
We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need, especially our furiends across the country in the path of the severe cold weather threats.
Found A New Home =^.^=
~~~~~
Left by the road, nobody cared
I really hoped that I would be spared.
Out for a walk, along came a friend
heard my cry, I knew she would bend.
Called kitty kitty, then picked me up
I was so small like a little tea cup.
Went for a ride, found a new home
no longer lost, never alone.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The sun was shining today and the next few days will be unseasonably warm here for February. We’ll be in the mid to high 70’s. San Diego, where GM lives, will be in the mid 80’s. Yikes! It doesn’t look good for our creek. (Heavy sigh!)

My Mom feeds and checks on Ebony and Sugar Bear every morning and in the evening - sometimes in-between. Ebony always greets Mom by jumping into her arms as soon as she walks through the door. My Mom braces herself for it, because the first day Ebony almost knocked Mom off her feet. MOL! The kitties are fine, missing their Mom Abarna. The doctor will assess Abarna’s condition on Friday and hopefully she can come home. Thanks for your prayers and the angel dust dear furiend.

We have your family in our prayers. Try to stay safe and warm! Countdown until Spring!:)

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for those in need.

WITH LOVE ...TO MY CATS
~~~~~
They are my friends -
a constant joy
Faithful companions,
not meant as a toy!
Beauty and grace in their walk
in their hearts
Happiness giving. . .
Never forsaking -
Thankful for living.
