Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
I think it's just going to take a little time before Percey can roam around downstairs. It took Whitey and Orangie almost a whole year before they could come downstairs without Callie growling at them. Callie still gives them the evil eye when she sees them, but it's not as bad as it was. We have all of you in our prayers dear furiend.

Yesterday I did something for the very first time, surprising the heck out of my Mom. While she was sitting in the living room watching T.V. with my Dad last night, I jumped up on the couch with her like I always do, but then I decided to curl up on her lap. I was tentative at first, kneading my paws on her legs to fluff them up a bit, but then I did a full circle and plopped down, having her undivided attention.

I’m not a lap cat, none of us are, but I decided to give it a try. MOL! Mom and Dad looked at each other - speechless. Then that silly Mom of mine started to think maybe something was wrong with me. Nope. I’m fine. I sat there and let my Mom pet me and scratch behind my ears, for quite a while. It was pretty nice, but Mom has been watching me like a hawk ever since, making sure I’m all right. Hee, hee, hee. Humans! You gotta love them!

I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Cat Funnies =^.^=
~~~~~
Following a woman with a Cat out of the movie theater, a man stopped her and said, "I'm sorry to bother you, but I was amazed that your Cat seemed to get into the movie so much. He cried at the right spots, moved nervously at the boring spots, and laughed like crazy at the funny parts. Don't you find that unusual?
"Yes," she replied. "I find it very unusual. Especially considering that he hated the book!"
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
It's good to hear Percey is doing well. I'll bet she'll have fun while your Mom tries to figure out what food she likes. Lucky kitty! That is so cute Percey is a chatty cat! None of us are, but Mom wishes we were! We'll keep her and Finster in our prayers dear furiend.
The weather is starting to warm up again. We are in the low-nineties today; tomorrow even hotter. My Mom has let the vacuum monster run loose all morning, so us kitties are hiding in our favorites spot under bed. (The only time we can all get along while huddled together. MOL!)
My Mom gave our outside fursib Sugar Bear her final dose of antibiotics today. Hooray for Sugar Bear! Her nose looks like it has a scab that is getting smaller day-by-day. Ebony and Sugar Bear are both doing fine.
We can’t believe another month is coming to an end. Who would of thought in January we’d still be meowing to each other on CC?! Happy days! Hope your Wednesday is wonderful.
I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Why Kittens are Better than Babies =^.^=
~~~~~
• Your kitten won't grow out of those cute, but expensive clothes within three months.

• You probably don't have to lie awake nights wondering how you are going to finance your kitten's college education.

• No one will accuse you of being an unfit mother if you don't want to breast feed your kitten.

• No one will accuse you of destroying the moral fabric of the country if you aren't married to the father of your kitten. In fact, nobody will ever ask you if you know who the father is.

• No one will question your abilities to function normally at your job when they hear you just got a kitten.

And the Number 1 reason why kittens are better than babies:

• You only have to change a litter box once a day!

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Hooray for Percey! We'll keep Percey and Finster in our prayers!

We hope you got to enjoy the beautiful wedding ceremony and reception for Fluffinella and Joey Brown today. It was so incredibly beautiful there wasn’t a dry in the house. The wedding ceremony was on the catmewsroom, in the lovely wedding chapel and the reception is ongoing on CC at our Cat’s Meow Resort & Event Center (271826), in the “Touch of Sunshine” reception room. You better bring your dancing shoes!

We want to thank all our CC furiends for coming out to paw a vote yesterday for our dear furiend Neekah Boo (251057). Neekah Boo and her family are mourning the loss of her fursister Angel Fatty, but we know being named as COTD, let her know how much she is loved. CC furiends are the best, paws down.

We are all doing fine. Our new fursib Sugar Bear is almost done with her antibiotics and her nose looks good. The scab is starting to peel off her nose. Whatever caused it seems to be healing. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers!

I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Things A Cat Thinks About While Catnapping =^.^=
~~~~~
• I could have sworn I heard a can opener.
• Is there something I'm not getting when humans make noise with their mouths?
• Why doesn't the government do something about dogs?
• Hmmmm.... If dogs serve humans, and humans serve cats, why can't we ever get those STUPID dogs to do anything for us?
• Hey - no kidding, I'm sure that's the can opener.
• Would humans have built a vast and complex civilisation of their own if we cats hadn't given them a reason to invent sofas and can openers in the first place.
• If there's a God, how can He allow neutering?
• If that really was the can opener, I'll play finicky just to let THEM know who's boss !!
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We'll be praying for Percey dear furiend. We know a trip to the vet is never easy. We're glad to hear Finster is eating. Salami? Really?! That crazy cat! We have Finster in our prayers too.
Just a furiendly reminder to please paw a COTD shout-out vote for our dear furiend Neekah Boo today (251057). Neekah Boo is real sweetheart. Her fursister Fatty sadly became an angel this morning. Neekah Boo could sure use some cheering up from us CC kitties. We’d love to see her pretty face as our COTD tomorrow!
Our new outside fursibs, Ebony and Sugar Bear are doing well. Mom has been able to fool Sugar Bear by mixing her medicine into her food. So far, so good. Sugar Bear is still a bit frightened of my Mom after the two trips to the vet and then having to take the awful tasting medicine, but Mom talks to both kitties every day, trying to win back Sugar Bear’s trust
Callie and I went our cat stroller walk this morning with Mom, but we haven’t seen any deer for a while. Mom fills up the water bucket every morning on the trail. It’s always empty so some thirsty animal is drinking it.
I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Inspection of the House =^.^=
A house usually has unlimited possibilities for suitable sleeping spots. Every possibility no matter how theoretical should be investigated and tested. Cardboard boxes, cupboards, drawers, couches and beds are obvious localities, but places such as old slippers (size 11 or higher) open gym bags or kitchen cupboards should not be overlooked. The house should further be investigated for all possible toys. An old sock can represent several hours of entertainment if you get your claw on a loose end and unravel a couple of miles worth of yarn. You human will love to tidy up after your play.
With frequent and diligent application of these tips, your human will be trained in no time at all and most importantly; your human will be very well cared for! MOL!
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
A 6.1 earthquake rattled the north bay town of Napa this morning at 3:20. We didn’t feel it where we live in San Jose and thankfully not too many people have been reported injured (so far). There was a lot of structural damage though. The news is monitoring the event non-stop right now. We are praying for all the people and animals that are affected by this very scary event.
It’s another warm day today. We hope to see you kitties at King Spanky Jack’s Castle Water Sport’s Day at our Cat’s Meow Resort & Event Center. What better way to stay cool?!
My Mom gave our new outside fursib, Sugar Bear her 6th dose of medicine this morning. Sugar Bear’s nose is looking much, much better! All your well wishes and prayers have really helped!
Door Training =^.^=
One of the first things you need to teach your human is to open the front door, the garden door and backdoor when required. This is done by walking up to a door and making an impatient and very loud meow. Make some tripping steps with your back paws obviously indicating that you need to go to the outdoor litter box.
When your human has gotten up from the couch and opened the door you decide that you do not really need to go outside right now. Just for appearances, you can stand in the open door and pretend that you are thinking about the situation for a few seconds before you turn around to go inside again. Repeat this procedure several times a day. This will keep your human in good door opening form.
My Dear Fur Friend ♥ Angel Rhuby....
Hello! It's so nice to be back.
Mom and I are very sorry for being gone for a couple of weeks. We missed everyone so much.
We are having unusual weather in Buenos Aires, it feels like summer with hot temperatures around +85F. We should be getting into spring next month, but Momma says our weather is just crazy. Tee-hee!!
Anyway, all of us have been enjoying Mr. Sun. I love napping by the window and having sun baths there. Mommy had many busy days at work and she had not much time left to help us with our blogs because of it. We miss her when she's gone all day. We make sure to give her many special purrs when she comes back home. We are all looking forward to the weekend when our parents have some free time to spend with us and also to play and spoil us.
We hope you have a super purrfect weekend too. We send you a huge bunch of hugs and many whisker kisses.
With much love,
from your friends always,
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Great mews to hear Finster is looking better and maybe gaining weight! Whoo hoo! Give Finster and your Mom a big hug for us.
We have some mews on our two new outside fursibs, Ebony & Sugar Bear...
My Mom finally heard back from Denise, the lady from Alley Cat Allies. Denise found out Ebony was T-N-R’d way back in July 2010. Denise said 2010 was the first year of helping feral cats for the Feral Freedom Organization. Ebony was estimated to be approx. 2-3 years old in 2010. So Ebony is probably 6-7 years old now. BUT - Ebony is not from the same feral colony as Sugar Bear. Ebony was released to a colony located about 3 miles from my Mom’s house. So Denise doesn’t know what happened between 2010 and now, or how Ebony got here. Denise said Ebony was listed on his paperwork back in 2010 as a “Big Black Cat.” Denise laughed because my Mom always refers to Ebony as the “big cat.”
What remains a mystery is how and why Ebony and Sugar Bear became such good furiends? They are complete opposites! (With the exception they are both black cats, but Ebony is shorthaired and Sugar Bear is longhaired.) Ebony is big and very calm and quiet. Sugar Bear is small and can barely keep still for more than a minute. Sugar Bear is maybe a year old or less. Now we know Ebony could be 8 years old. They kind of remind us of Whitey and Orangie. It’s nice to know us cats really do look out for each other.:)
I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
P.S. My Mom got dose number 3 of Sugar Bear’s medicine down this morning. The mornings seem to be the best time to catch Sugar Bear off guard!
House-guests =^.^=
House-guests require special attention and handling. The following procedures should be followed:
House-guests that either do not like us or are allergic to us: As soon as they sit down - jump onto their lap.
Noisy children that run after you and/or pull your tail: It is your duty to punish them - it can be necessary to use both claws and teeth. However, be prepared that this can result in noise that is even more annoying and of an even louder decibel level.
Guests that try to get in contact with you by ingratiating themselves and speaking in a sweet voice: Should just be ignored. If they try to approach you, back away 5-6 feet - but never further away than they feel encouraged to try again. With a bit of practice this game can he kept going for hours.
We have sweet Finster and your dear Dad & Mom in our prayers. Give them hugs for us.
Not too much going on here today. Mom is busy around the house, ignoring us. Humph! The weather is in the mid-eighties, nice enough for Callie and I to catnap outside on the deck. Whitey and Orangie are napping in their window beds.
My Mom was not able to give our new outside fursib, Sugar Bear, her second dose of antibiotics last night. Sugar Bear is no dummy and she hated the taste of the Clavamox. Who doesn’t?! BUT! Mom was able to grab her this morning. This time Mom gave Sugar Bear the syringe full of medicine, followed by a syringe full of blended cat food with water. Sugar Bear didn’t seem as upset. We’ll find out soon enough!
Sleeping Time =^.^=
It is important for us cats to prioritize our sleeping time. The objective is to get as much sleep done as possible while your human is awake. You will then be especially well rested and bushy-tailed at night when it is your job to keep your human awake. There is the classical "play with toes" approach: attack everything that moves under the duvet. You can also reenact highlights from last year's Grand National Steeplechase by repeatedly galloping across the bed. A couple of loud meows will give it an extra exiting dimension for your human.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We are so happy Finster is eating well! We'll keep your Dad and his family in our prayers. We hope the cats can go to a good home. We have our paws crossed.
My Mom was able to successfully give our new outside fursib, Sugar Bear, her first dose of antibiotics last night. Sugar Bear’s nose is looking better today, if that’s possible. It might be wishful thinking on my Mom’s part. This morning both Sugar Bear and her furiend Ebony were waiting for breakfast, so thankfully Sugar Bear isn’t too mad at Mom.
Callie and I went out for our cat stroller walk this morning and there was a light mist falling. My Mom put the cover on our stroller so we wouldn’t get wet, but it felt nice coming through the front screen. We hope you all have a relaxing Tuesday!
More Ways To Prevent Your Human From Wasting Valuable Time =^.^=
Cleaning: stalk the vacuum cleaner and attack when it passes by. You can also pretend that you want to attack the vacuum cleaner but "accidentally" catch a foot instead. (A sure way to get the vacuum monster shut off immediately!)
Garden work: jump repeatedly up-and-down and scatter any leaves that your human has raked together. Attack gardening tools, especially while they are in use. Immediately dig up any newly planted seeds, plants and flowers.
Under no circumstances accept closed doors that separate you from your human. At all times you have a right to know what your human is doing. If by accident you have been placed on the wrong side of a door you need to make your human aware of this ASAP so he/she can remedy the situation immediately. Loud meows and scratching on the door should be sufficient to get your human's attention. If this is ignored you need to take more drastic measures: Make a sound as if you are going to throw up. All humans in a 50 feet radius can hear this sound. This sound can also be heard through closed doors. The "puke sound" will always result in your human's immediate presence.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We have Finster in our prayers dear furiend. We hope Finster is taking his medicine like a good cat! Give your Mom a big hug for us.
Our new outside fursib Sugar Bear went to the vet today because of a scab on her nose. The vet is treating her for an infection. The doctor doesn’t think it’s an allergy because Sugar Bear isn’t scratching a lot. So Sugar Bear got a penicillin shot and the rest of her booster shots. The vet also gave my Mom some Clavamox oral antibiotic drops to give Sugar Bear twice a day. The vet knows Sugar Bear is still an outside kitty right now, but she told my Mom to just try her best to give Sugar Bear the medicine.
Sugar Bear weighed 6.4 lbs when Mom took her in 2 weeks ago. Today she weighed 7 lbs! The vet told my Mom Sugar Bear is so small and docile, she’ll have a much better chance at surviving at our house, than going back to her feral colony. Mom was happy to hear the vet say that, even though it’s already been decided.
When Mom and Sugar Bear got back home, Ebony was waiting by the garage door for her furiend. It made my Mom’s eyes tear up. Those two kitties are such good furiends. When Mom let Sugar Bear out of the carrier, she started to run away, but turned around when she heard a can of cat food opened. Ebony and Sugar Bear ate heartily together. :)
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Oh sweet furiend, we are praying for Finster to take his medicine. Have your pawrents tried dissolving the pill in some warm water (or broth) and giving it to Finster with an eyedropper or syringe? That's what my Mom does when she need to be sure we take our medicine. My Dad holds our head and Mom squirts it down our throat, holding our mouth closed for a few seconds so we don't spit it out. Us cats can be stubborn!
We had a great time at King Spanky’s Castle Game Night yesterday. I’m still recovering from the dunking booth! I noticed a lot of my furiends suddenly had very good aim when I was on the dunking seat. MOL! My sister Callie kept buying tickets to get in line until thankfully for me, she ran out of catbucks! (Hee, hee, hee...I know where she lives!)
My Mom hasn’t heard back from the Alley Cat Allies lady, with information on Ebony, our new black cat furiend. Sugar Bear, the little momma cat has something on the bridge of her nose that looks kind of like a grayish colored scab. Sugar Bear is still eating great and running around like a kitten, but Mom doesn’t like the look of her nose, so Sugar Bear is going back to the vet on Monday. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. We’ll let you know what happens.
Other than that, it’s a quiet Sunday with temps in the mid eighties. Nice catnapping weather!
Grass Etiquette =^.^=
Before you eat grass, make sure that you are close to a suitable place to throw up. Delicate furniture fabrics, precious carpets, and shoes are all good places. If you choose furniture: aim for the part that has non-removable fabric. When you are getting down to business, make sure you back up a step or two so that you cover the largest area possible. Another technique is to do several items with pauses in-between. Persian carpets will provide a good camouflage effect and your little gift will often not be discovered until somebody steps in it.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Hooray for your Dad! We sure hope Finster will try to make it easier on your Dad to take his medicine without a fuss. We have our paws crossed and we'll keep sweet Finster in our prayers.
My sister Callie and I have been taking our cat stroller walks a little bit later since Dad is back at work. We wave goodbye to Dad and are out the door by 6 a.m. But sadly, we haven’t seen any deer. It must be too late in the day for them. My Mom still fills the bucket with water and it’s always empty when we get there.
No word on our new outside furiend Ebony yet. My Mom returned the microchip scanner to Denise, the Alley Cat Allies lady, yesterday and we’re waiting for her to get back to us. Denise did say she is pretty sure Ebony is a male, since his left ear had been clipped when he was neutered. Denise said it should be a veterinary protocol to always clip the left ear of a TNR male feral cat, and the right ear of a female cat. (But the protocol is not always followed.) Mom feels it in her bones that Ebony is a male. Ebony is so cool and calm, like me. MOL! Oh, oh... Callie just gave me the “Evie” evil eye! Hee hee! (You have to know K. Mike, his sister Evie and their family to get that joke!).
Prevent Your Human From Wasting Valuable Time =^.^=
One of the most important tasks we cats have is to prevent humans from wasting their time. Humans love to spend their time on things with no relevance for cats. For example watching TV, reading, talking on the phone - and many other things that have no entertainment value for us cats whatsoever. Many methods are available to prevent human time waste - use your imagination. Some especially effective techniques will be mentioned here.
Watching TV: make sure that you always position yourself between the TV and your human. On the coffee table for example. You can also lie on the TV and let your tail or paws swing down in front of the screen. This method is most effective with small screens where you can cover a large percentage of the screen. It is a bit trickier with a flat screen - and only recommended for the agile kitty. A variation can be used with a computer screen. Flat screens often leave a lot of empty space on the desk - so just get up in front - remind your human of how wonderful you are.
My Mom and I are running a little behind in my blogging today and she just let the dreaded vacuum monster loose. Yikes!
All of us kitties are fine, catnapping the day away, until now that is. I better go find my favorite hiding spot from the vacuum monster!
Wangling Extra Food =^.^=
All chances for a bit of extra food must and should be taken advantage of. Whenever your human is in the kitchen, you have a prime opportunity of getting an extra snack. When your human is busy at the kitchen counter place yourself in your humans blind angle (just behind the ankle is usually a good spot). And the second your human moves one or both feet you jump back screaming your most heart- wrenching cry. Your human will automatically assume that he/she stepped on you. When your human looks back scared to see what is happening look up at him/her with a painful expression on your face (practice this before hand in front of a mirror). Your human's bad conscience will often result an edible apology.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We are so glad to hear Finster and YOGI are doing okay. We'll keep them both in our prayers!
We hope you and your family had a wonderful Wednesday day. Here is an update on our new outside furiends, Sugar Bear and Ebony...
Mom had a meeting with Denise, the lady from Alley Cats Allies organization. They are trying to find out which Feral Cat Colony Ebony came from and if it is the same colony Sugar Bear came from. Sugar Bear’s chip showed she came from across town and should have been put back in her neighborhood. :(
Anyway... Denise (the Alley Cat Allies lady) loaned my Mom a “Universal Worldscan Pocket Reader.” It is manufactured by “HomeAgain Pet Rescuers.” When my Mom got home, she tried the scanner out on Callie and me first. We all have microchips. The scanner worked great on both of us. Then Mom went outside and sure enough Ebony and Sugar Bear came running up the driveway when they heard the “Temptations” bag rattling. My Mom got close enough to Ebony to get a quick reading, but then Ebony got spooked and ran away from Mom. Mom wrote down the microchip number that came up. The microchip number is a lot different than ours and Sugar Bears, so Mom is going to try for a second reading tonight. Mom is afraid the scanner might have gotten a bad reading. Ebony is now looking at Mom with caution! MOL! I told my Mom to take a deep breath, relax and talk softly the next time she approaches Ebony. The scanner is a bit big and Ebony was a little frightened by the size of the digital scanner in Mom’s hand. Actually, Callie and I were both startled when Mom scanned us, but we know she means well - and it didn’t hurt at all!
Shed Hair Freely =^.^=
Make it a priority to shed indoors on appropriate surfaces. Fleece is a particularly suitable material to shred on. All you need to do is pass close by your human when he or she is wearing fleece. All cat hair within a radius of two feet from the fabric will immediately be transferred to your human. No brushing necessary for several days!
Another good solution is to get access to a filled clothes hamper. Jump in and give all contents a good work over. An extra bonus with this method is that most cat hairs will survive a trip to the washing machine. Your human will be stylishly accessorized with cat hair on all outfits.
It’s a nice sunny day, perfect for catnapping. My Mom spoke to the lady from Alley Cats Allies this morning and learned a little bit more about Sugar Bear, one of our two new outside furiends. Apparently Sugar Bear is from a Feral Cat colony located on the other side of town from us. Sugar Bear should have been returned to her colony where she is familiar with her surroundings. The Alley Cat Allies lady (her name is Denise) is trying to figure out how this happened so it doesn’t happen again. She said a TNR cat that is not returned to his or her neighborhood could easy be frightened and killed. Denise wants to find out if the second cat, Ebony, is also from the same colony. Maybe that’s why the two kitties are such good furiends. Denise wants my Mom to try to scan the microchip in Ebony so she can get to the bottom of this. My Mom is going to meet Denise tomorrow so Denise can loan my Mom the scanner. Ebony is still very skittish around Mom, but Mom has been trying to earn Ebony’s trust.
My Mom asked Denise if would be in the cats’ best interest to go back to where they lived. Denise said she would normally say yes, but since Sugar Bear and Ebony have each other and Mom is willing to care for them, then they should both be fine here. We’ll let you all know what happens.
I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
How to Care for Your Humans...
(Useful Advice for Cats - Part 2)
~~~~~
Entertaining your Human =^.^=

The litter box provides a great opportunity for entertaining your human. Naturally there is all the fun your human can have cleaning and scooping out the box. A lot of human time can also be used getting fresh litter - going to the pet store, transporting it home etc. However many humans like new challenges. Utilize your litter box time in the best possible way. Make interesting and artistic renderings of countries or well-known islands. Your human will have lots of fun guessing which one you made. Humans like game shows - so this should be a popular activity. When your human increases in skill, you can also make portraits of family and friends. Start with profile portraits - this will make it easer for your human.

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Oh sweet furiend, we have Finster in our thoughts and prayers and all our paws our crossed for good mews. We're sorry to hear your Dad had to go in to work today. No fair!

Today is our Dad’s first day back at school. School doesn’t begin for the kids until Tuesday, but the teachers have meetings on Monday. Our weather is very nice, in the low eighties, so Callie and I will be sunning on the deck for a while. Whitey and Orangie are already sunning in the bedroom window.

The outside kitties Sugar Bear and Ebony, ate very well this morning. Sugar Bear loves playing with her Cosmic Catnip banana. She already chewed right through the first one and is on her second one! Mom needs to make a trip to Petco this week.

How to Care for Your Humans...
(Useful Advice for Cats - Part 1)
~~~~~
For us cats there are several sweet advantages in having a human as a pet. However, remember you are taking on a big responsibility when you adopt one or more humans. Humans are demanding pets that need daily care and attention.
With responsibility come both advantages and disadvantages. If you adopt a human, you must get used to spending time at home. Your human does not deal well with being left alone - they will get into all sorts of mischief. For example, if you are gone just two or three days you run the risk of seeing posters put up all over the neighborhood. Your human will put out an APB on you! Often it will include an embarrassing text that reveals all sorts of personal details - and usually accompanied by an unflattering photo of you - with morning fur and crumpled whiskers. Exactly the kind of thing that attracts ridicule from all the neighbor cats.
So please consider carefully if you are ready for a life with humans. In addition, remember humans generally grow very old, so there is a big chance that you will spend the rest of your life with your human.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We are running very late today dear furiend. Dad starts teaching tomorrow, so it's been crazy.
I have a feeling my Mom will want to bring Sugar Bear and Ebony inside the house. She just needs to work on our Dad a bit. MOL! I'll keep you posted.
Oh sweetie, we have dear Finster in our thoughts and prayers. Give him and your sweet Mom hugs for us. We'll check back on you kitties tomorrow.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We sure hope Finister is going to be okay. We'll be praying for his trip to the vet to go well. Give your sweet Mom a hug for us.
My Mom got an email from the Alley Cat Allies’ lady who had been helping her with Sugar Bear, the black momma cat. The nice lady said she would like to come out to meet both Sugar Bear and Ebony. She looked up the microchip number that was placed inside Sugar Bear and apparently Sugar Bear (who was a TNR cat), was returned to the wrong neighborhood. She is wondering about Ebony too. The Alley Cat Allies’ lady is perplexed and wants to see if Sugar Bear should be relabeled as adoptable. It’s all a bit confusing to our Mom, so Mom would love to speak to the lady and hopefully figure out what is going on.
My Mom is ready to take care of both cats and is in the process of getting some outdoor housing up for them. But if Sugar Bear has a chance to go to a loving home, then she wants whatever is best for the little cat. Ebony is not too friendly and seems older, so he (or she) is here to stay.
Whitey and Orangie were running up and down the stairs this morning around 1 a.m., sounding like little horses in the house. Mom thought it was me and got up to put me back to bed. I heard Mom calling my name and I waved my paw at her. I was right by her feet! So we were all surprised to see Whitey & Orangie playing together like kittens! Then it took furever for all of us to get back to sleep. MOL!
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
It was another lazy day for us kitties. Mom and Dad were gone most of the morning, but didn’t forget to come back with treats for all of us.
The outside cats are doing very well. Mom finally named the momma cat “Sugar Bear” and the big black cat that is her constant companion, “Ebony.” Both cats have been eating their food twice a day and Sugar Bear doesn’t look so skinny anymore. My Dad made a snide comment that Sugar Bear is starting to look like one of Mom's cats. Hey! I think he might have been insulting me. Humph! Doesn’t he know it’s World Cat Day?! MOL!
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
No more rain today, but the rain was nice if only for one day yesterday. The weather is warming up again. We didn’t see any of our furiends, the deer, on our cat stroller walk this morning, but we always leave water in the empty bucket.
Mom went with our Dad this morning to help set up his classroom for the first day of school next week. There were books to be checked in, desks to arrange and an over-all cleaning. The school janitors work hard but are stretched too thin, so every little bit helps.
All of us cats are doing fine. We catnapped the day away. Our two new outside furiends are doing well too. Mom is trying to get some good pictures of them to post on my CC page.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
You’ll never believe it, but we finally got some rain showers here today! Whoo hoo! Okay, actually just a little drizzle, but it lasted for almost 5 hours this morning, watering all the vegetation around the walking trail. Mom took Callie and me on our cat stroller walk this morning and the rain mist felt nice. We didn’t see any deer today, but we’re hoping they were off frolicking in the mist.
Our two new outside cats are doing really well. Both cats were making good use of Whitey & Orangie’s Igloo in the front yard. Mom keeps it cozy with clean blankets and a bed inside, and the two cats were snuggled together inside this morning.
My Mom ordered a new outdoor cathouse that she found on the internet. It’s insulated, has a removable door flap to block out rain and wind, has an entry overhang with shingles that match the roof and even has a small escape door on the side with a flap that only works from the inside, so no animal can use it from the outside It should be here in a couple of weeks. Mom is hopeful the cats will use it, since they seem comfortable with the Igloo. Keep your paws crossed.
My Mom found out the reason for the microchip in the little momma cat, placed by the Feral Freedom Organization. Feral cats are trapped, neutered and released after being deemed under-socialized, with no major health issues. The microchip is registered to the San Jose Animal Control, signaling the cat has been returned to his or her colony where he or she was captured. Feral Freedom members should have left door hangers around the neighborhood, letting the people know what was happening. That sure would have helped my Mom. But now Mom knows how to recognize the TNR cats. Mom will continue to leave food out during the day like always. Mom has only seen the two black cats, so that is her main focus for now. Mom can’t believe the little momma cat was flagged as an unadoptable cat. The little momma is very loving and let’s Mom handle her. The other black cat is extremely skittish, not letting Mom get too close yet, but always the momma cat's constant companion.
How very lucky for Nosey to have found a loving furever home with your family!
Hi Angel Rhuby!
My Mom took the little black momma cat to my vet. It turns out the kitty is spayed already AND she has a microchip registered under "Feral Freedom." Apparently the cat had kittens and was spayed on 07/01/2014. The vet checked the cat's nipples and they look okay. There were still some stitches left in her tummy from being spayed, so the vet took them out. The vet also gave her injections for FVR-CP, FELV and Rabies. Mom also had her put some Revolution Flea medicine on her. The momma cat doesn't appear to have fleas, but just in case.
The vet and my Mom tried calling the Feral Freedom Organization to find out more about the cat, but there was only an answering machine. We have the cat's microchip number, so we’ll keep trying to find why there is a microchip in the little cat.
The little black cat is so cute. My Mom was afraid the momma cat would be mad at her, but last night and this morning she was rubbing all over my Mom’s legs and playing with her Cosmic Catnip banana doing the bunny kick. Mom was even able to easily pick her up and pet her. The momma cat and her feline furiend were sitting on the roof of the outside cat feeding station, looking very happy. Mom’s next project is to get a nice outdoor cathouse for the two cats.
My Mom is still in contact with the lady from Alley Cat Allies, hoping the two cats can still be adopted. In the meantime, they seem to be happy here.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Today was Petco Day for us and our Mom didn’t let us down. She got everything on our list! Callie and I got to see two deer on our walk this morning, Mom filled up their water bucket and even though they watched us from far away, they didn’t run off. Callie and I waved at them as we strolled by.
My Mom is preparing to catch the momma cat tonight for her visit to the vet in the morning. My Mom is nervous, but is trying to remain calm and think pawsitive. Hopefully we’ll have good mews tomorrow. If the vet tells my Mom the cat is still nursing, Mom will bring her right back home. If not, Mom wants to get the little momma fixed. We're hoping the vet will be able to give us the right advice.
8 cats is a lot of responsibility, but I bet your pawrents get a lot of love in return. Give them big hugs for us. They are angels on earth!
The Cat (A Funny Story) =^.^=
~~~~~
A pastor had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down.

The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and drove away so that the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten.

He did all this, checking his progress in the car frequently, then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved a little further forward, the rope broke.

The tree went "boing!" and the kitten instantly sailed through the air - out of sight.

The pastor felt terrible.

He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten. So he prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping," and went on about his business.

A few days later he was at the grocery store and met one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food. Now this woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her, "Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?"

She replied, "You won't believe this," and told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom finally told her little girl, "Well if God gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it!"

She told the pastor, "I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes.

A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed right in front of her."

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Today was grocery-shopping day for our pawrents, so we had the house to ourselves this morning. Whitey & Orangie actually ventured downstairs to join Callie and me. We stayed on opposite sides of the room, but that’s okay. Mom was very proud of us. Tomorrow is Petco day, so I’ll be making my list later. MOL!

We didn’t see any deer on our cat stroller walk this morning, but we did see some cute raccoons. They watched my Mom as she filled up the bucket with water.

The little momma cat is still coming here to eat, but sadly no kittens have shown up. Mom is going to try to take the little momma cat to the vet Monday morning. Keep your paws crossed.

Your Mom and Dad sound like wonderful people. You were so lucky to have been found by them and your sweet doggy when you were born. We wish all cats could be so fortunate.

We had a wonderful time at King Spanky’s Coronation yesterday. We’ll miss Queen Angel Wendy, but she deserves a nice vacation. We can hardly wait to get to know Lil’ Bear better. She sure is a beautiful black kitty.

Animals bring to us a love not found in (the) humankind.
Theirs is a love of unspoken warmth,

It has been busy here at home with my Dad getting ready to start the new school year. (He is a high school math/music teacher.) Callie and I went for our a ride in our cat stroller this morning, but no deer were there to greet us. We still fill up the water bucket for any of our furry furiends that find it.

We are all doing fine. We still haven’t seen any kittens yet with the little momma cat, but she is eating a can of cat food, three times a day and she is looking healthy.

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
It was a crazy day here today. Dad had car problems that took all morning away from us, but his car is back from the mechanic and fixed. Then my Mom went to visit our vet, just to chat face to face about the little momma cat we are feeding. Still no sign of the kittens. The good news is Mom was able to pet the little momma cat this morning and even brought her one of our catnip banana toys to play with. The momma cat grabbed the catnip banana and proceeded to bunny kick it while laying on her side. Mom could have easily picked her up. The vet thinks Mom might want to try picking up the little cat and bringing her in for a check up, to see if she is still nursing. If she is, then my Mom can bring her right back home. If not, then Mom needs to have her fixed and vaccinated. Mom is going to wait until the cat is comfortable with being picked up. (Something she still can’t do with Whitey!)

It will be less traumatic on the cat if Mom can pick her up and take her to our vet, instead of taking her to the animal shelter (even though they have been very helpful and we will need them once we find the kittens.)

It was a warm day here again, in the mid 90’s. We saw two deer on our cat stroller walk this morning and two raccoons walking along the trail. The water bucket is always empty when we fill it up.:)

Hi Angel Rhuby!
It was hot again here today, about 92 degrees, but cooler than yesterday. My Mom fed the little black momma cat twice today, morning and afternoon. Both times the little cat ate a whole can of cat food. There still has been no sign of any kittens, but Mom remains hopeful. The momma cat let Mom get closer to her today. My Mom sat nearby while the momma cat ate her food, talking softly to her. This was progress. Up until now, the cat wouldn’t eat until Mom went back inside the house. Just like she did with Whitey and Orangie, my Mom is taking baby steps. We are just worried about the hot weather and hoping the kittens are safe somewhere.:(

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
My Mom is trying to take care of a cat she had been feeding outside, discovering last night the cat is a girl and looks as if she has just had kittens.
My Mom is so dense, at first she thought the cat was pregnant when she saw the cat’s enlarged breasts, but the cat is very thin. So my Mom called several animal shelters for advice on how to handle the situation. The best advice came from a place called Alley Cat Allies and of course from some good friends right here on CC. The cat probably has her kittens hidden and is nursing them. Mom had planned on trapping the cat and taking her to be fixed, but since the cat has kittens somewhere, the advice is to let her alone, feed her and gain her trust. Then hopefully, in three to five weeks, the cat will bring her kittens to eat here when they are old enough, and then my Mom can trap all of them and have them fixed. The nice people at Alley Cat Allies told my Mom afterwards, they would help us find homes for them.

But in the meantime, my Mom has been walking all over the neighborhood, asking people to look out for any kittens and let us know right away. Mom searched the streets and the trail by the creek, but no luck.

Please keep your paws crossed for the momma cat and her kittens,. We’ll keep you updated on the progress.

Tonight, the mom cat came to eat and let my Mom touch her. She is such a small cat, my Mom feels confident she’ll be able to pick her up easily. We just need to find the babies.

I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

P.S. The momma cat is a beautiful black cat. I posted a picture of her on my page..

The Greatest Gift =^.^=
~~~~~
A battle scarred
Old alley cat,
So weary
And so thin,
His home a hole
In the ground
You found
And took him in.
You sheltered him,
You gave him food,
You healed
His running sore.
You gave him love,
You gave him care,
You gave him
Something more.
You gave him time
Spent just with you
Along
With tender care.
Afraid to trust,
He trusted you;
He knew
That help was there.
You took
A sick old alley cat
Left on
Life's discarded shelf,
And gave
The greatest gift of all.
You gave him
Of yourself.
Good Night ♥ Dear Angel Rhuby!
... and all the fur babies! How are you?...
We have been helping Mommy doing the laundry during the evening. I purrsonally love helping with the clothes, once they are clean and dry, you can always have a napp over them. Right?...
We had a cold weekend but luckily we had no rains. Mom and Dad went for dinner with friends last night and we stayed sleeping under the blankets. Grandma will be coming back home next Sunday. We're keeping our paws crossed expecting to get some gifts from her. Tee-hee!
Mom has been busy with her work and the homework and we have not been on CC over the last week. We're doing our best to visit as many friends as posible tonight.
We hope you have a wonderful week. Here we are leaving you a huge bunch of whisker kisses along with many special purrs...
With lots of love,
from your friends always,
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We're glad to hear your sweet Mom's wrist is feeling better. Give her a big hug for us. And we hope you kitties get lots of goodies from Petsmart!
My Mom took Callie and me for our early morning walk in our cat stroller, but we still haven’t seen the deer for a few days. The bucket of water we leave is always empty so we know some poor thirsty animal is drinking it. That’s all that really matters, but we keep hoping to see our furiends the deer.
It’s a hot day here, with temps topping out at 101 degrees. We’re all looking forward to Queen Angel Wendy’s trip to Philadelphia this weekend. K. Pete has all of us Royal Pilots shuttling the CC kitties to the city for our stay at the Ritz-Carlton. Talley and I have our dancing shoes all packed and ready to go. We hope to see you there!
I left a vote with soft purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
A Happy Ending =^.^=
~~~~~
The greatest thing I've ever known,
Someone came and took me home,
Away from the track; hope I'll never go back!
Like a nightmare in my memory, my future looked black,
Then I was adopted and my life spared.
I thank God everyday that someone cared;
'Cause this must be heaven, I'm a winner this time,
Got some catnip, a toy, and a bed all mine.
And I'm crazy 'bout my family;
Devoted, you might say.
Like a shadow beside them.
You can bet I want to stay!
And I'm special too, they call me "sweetheart,"
And they hug and kiss me and tell me I'm smart.
Even dreams are peaceful now; no stress or strife.
And I run for fun, 'stead of running for my life!

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We were all by ourselves today while Mom went with Dad to his appointment to see the orthopedic surgeon who fixed Dad’s ankle one year ago. It is hard to believe it has been a whole year. After getting his ankle x-rayed and chatting with the doctor, Dad decided not to have any more surgery. Dad is happy he can walk without a limp and the one pin that does sometimes bother him, doesn’t cause enough discomfort to warrant more surgery. Dad has been doing his physical therapy exercises religiously and that seems to be key in his recovery. The doctor said walking a few miles everyday needs to be a part of his exercise routine too. The doctor extended Dad’s physical therapy sessions for another 3 months, at which point she’ll evaluate his ankle again. Dad likes the PT sessions, but feels he’ll be okay with just his exercises. The insurance only covers the PT for so long.

Mom & Dad stopped at Petco to get our food and they brought back lots of cat treats, so it wasn’t too bad of a day. When our pawrents got back home, Callie and I were asleep in the window downstairs, and Whitey and Orangie were asleep in the window upstairs. Mom called us her little angels. :)

A Prayer For The Animals =^.^=
~~~~~
God bless the animals,
the lost and the stray,
the exploited, abused,
Help us not turn away.
God bless the hungry,
the thirsty and scared,
the abandoned and hopeless
and bless those who care.
God bless the hunted,
those filled with fright.
The courageous who try
to set these things right.
Bless all those which suffer
for some whim of man.
God help us all
to do what we can.
Bless their dear spirits,
when this world they leave.
For each innocent lost
teach us to grieve.
God bless our companions
in their innocent play.
May they know only happiness
All of their days.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We had a power outage in our neighborhood today. We’re still not sure if it was caused by the warm weather. If it was, this will be a long summer!
It started out as a house cleaning day with the vacuum monster on the loose, but the power outage sure fixed that. MOL! I swear I didn’t have anything to do with it!
Just as Mom was reading her mail, there was a letter telling her the "Water Police" will be coming around! As soon as we find out what that means exactly, we'll let you know. Mom says it won't stop her from taking a couple of gallons to the poor deer by the creek (or whatever animal is drinking it!). The drought is looking very bad. :(
A Cat Treat =^.^=
~~~~~
I have never known a love of that,
Which consists more
Than the love of my cat.
He’s cozy and happy…
At times he’s aloof.
But that constant warm affection
Is Gods living proof.
Instincts still present;
The pounce on a string
Though tiger no more,
No less still a king.
He guards like on duty;
Pressed close to my side
Yet often quite moody-
Can sense if I’ve cried.
Awaits there to greet me,
Perhaps earning his keep,
The squint of his eyes,
What he sow, I do reap.

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
It’s another hot and humid day here. We even got a few rain drops, but the ground soaked them right up. I was sitting outside on the deck when a couple of rain drops hit me on the head. I came running inside as fast as I could. MOL!

Callie and I got to go for a walk in our cat stroller, but our furiends the deer were nowhere to be seen. Mom filled up the empty bucket with water and we sat down for a while to wait, but still no deer. We hope they are all right and will try again tomorrow.

EYES =^.^=
~~~~~
Another day has come and gone,
I lie in bed; is something wrong?
I cannot sleep; I toss and turn,
I know not what it is I yearn.
Then he comes in dead of night,
He brings compassion to my plight.
He perches there upon my chest,
He somehow knows that I need rest.
He peers at me with knowing eyes,
Oh how sage, for one his size.
He gently pats me on my chin,
Then a lullaby, he soon begins.
He sings and purrs deep within his soul,
His love is true – so brave and bold.
He never speaks a single word,
Yet, his message - loudly heard.
He’s telling me that all is well,
He soothes me with his feline spell.
True friends like this are truly rare,
For me, this friend is always there.
Soon, together, we drift off to sleep,
Confident in our hearts – this bond we keep.
Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
My Mom and I are trying to play catch up today. We had company this weekend so are running a little behind. We hope you had a great weekend and got a chance to be at Queen Angel Wendy’s “Christmas in July” Royal Ball yesterday. It was fabulous!
We are all doing fine. Mom took Callie and me for a walk in our cat stroller this morning. We’ve only seen one of the deer the past couple of mornings. Mom still leaves water in the bucket since it is always empty - someone is drinking it!
A Special Kind of People =^.^=
~~~~~
Cats are a special kind of people,
as we who love them know,
though it's not their fur, or their throbbing purr,
or the whiskers along side their nose.
It's not their tail, though they talk with that,
it's just something, somehow about being a cat.

It's hard to explain, I don't think you can,
just give the love they crave,
no need to understand, how,
be they kitten or cat,
they make our house a home.
What a wonderful gift, from the Lord above,
when he sends a cat to our door.

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We're glad to hear you are having nice weather and the birds are out singing! We hope your Mom and Dad have time to enjoy it too!

Another day of noisy house cleaning around here. My Mom took Callie and me for a walk in our cat stroller early this morning. We only saw one deer today. We stopped to leave some water and say hello.

My Mom’s brother and his family are visiting us tomorrow from San Diego, so we’ll be offline until Sunday. We’ll be back for Queen Angel Wendy’s Christmas in July Royal Ball on Sunday. Hope to see you there!

5 THINGS CATS KNOW ABOUT LIFE WE SHOULD LEARN (No. 3)
(We can learn from our cats to be almost as satisfied with life as they are.)

3. There is nothing undignified in asking for help.=^.^=

Cats are the world’s most dignified creatures, wouldn’t you agree? Yet even they are not above asking for a little help – sometimes loudly – if dinner is late or if the door to their favorite room is closed. We all rely on each other, and not asking for help can actually make you miss opportunities to learn and to form friendships. So work on that meow!

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We saw our new furiends, the two deer, on our walk this morning. Mom parked us in our stroller and walked down to fill their empty bucket with water. The deer always run when they see us, but this time they stopped to watch Mom from a safe distance. While we were walking, we also saw a little skunk cross the trail in front of us. At first Mom thought it was a small dog with a fluffy tail, but then we saw his cute little black and white face. He didn’t seem scared of us at all, so we waited until he was out of sight!

2. It is not silly to love your old toys. =^.^=

Plenty of adults feel the need to act “grown up” and to get rid of old toys, and even old hobbies. Clearing clutter can be liberating, but don’t throw out your memories and talents with it! See how your cats treasure their oldest toys? Keep mementos that you’ll be pleased to find later, and never stop singing in the shower.

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
We're so glad to hear your Dad had a Happy Birthday and got to enjoy his favorite dinner. Your Mom is a real sweetheart!

It’s another warm and unusually muggy day here. The temps are in the 90’s but there is a lot of cloud cover. Sadly, no rain is predicted. We saw our deer furiends this morning and filled up the water bucket that Mom set up for them. The water bucket was empty and the deer were nearby it, but there is no telling who drank it. We have our paws crossed it was them.

My pawrents are having company over this Friday & Saturday, so we’ll be offline for a couple of days. If only I could learn to type. MOL!

1. Tomorrow is the perfect time for everything – except what you want now.

Cats are notorious for being a bit lazy. “Cat nap” is a well-known term for a reason – they snooze about 50-70% of the day away. So you might say they take that procrastination saying to heart – tomorrow is the perfect time for everything!

Except, have you ever once seen a cat give up on what they want? Has your kitty ever waited to play with you instead of climbing onto your laptop and demanding your attention?

Cats have mastered the technique of going for what satisfies them most, and letting other worries wait in the wings. So maybe we can’t let our work emails sit for quite as long as your cat would, but you can do what makes you happy in your off-time today, and don’t sweat the rest so much.

Hi Angel Rhuby & family!
Happy Birthday to your sweet Dad! Whoo hoo! We wish him a happy and healthy year. Give him a big hug for us dear furiend.

Not too much going on her today except the noisy racket from the dreaded vacuum monster. We are all hiding in our safe spots, watching Mom carefully while she works around us. Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the week, topping out at 100 degrees.

We did get to see our furiends the deer on our cat stroller walk this morning. They seem to be getting used to us and not running off as quickly. My Mom noticed some water sprinklers going off around some nearby homes. We’re hoping the deer are getting their water from there. No rain in sight here. My Mom left a bucket of water next to the trail by the creek. We’re going to bring a couple of gallons of water each day to fill the bucket. Dad says it won’t help, but Mom doesn’t see how it could hurt. :(

A Cat’s Simple Guide To Happiness (No. 7)
~~~~~
• Be Kind to Your Friends. =^.^=
Cats reward their furry friends with a quick rub or by washing their faces. Cats show their love for humans by rubbing against their ankles, jumping onto their computer keyboards or curling up and purring in their laps. Cats know the importance of having friends. Psychological studies have shown that friendship is surprisingly important to people, too. Social support can lower blood pressure, protect against dementia and reduce risk of depression.
