Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Our Mom had a routine dental appointment this morning, which took much longer than anticipated. Thinking she was just getting a check up and teeth cleaning, the mean ole dentist took x-rays and found an old filling that needed to be replaced. Mom figured, as long as she was already sitting in that awful dentist chair, she might as well get it over with. When she got home, we were all waiting downstairs in the bay window - waiting to see if she brought us a treat. Lucky for Mom, she drives by Petco on her way home. She brought us some Wellness Kittles cat treats, chicken and cranberries flavor. Our vet gave these treats her okay.:)

Really? No one likes Fancy feast Trout? It sure sounds yummy, but then I don't get to eat anything but not-so-delicious prescription cat food. My Mom is still having to feed me a little bit of the food- pureed- through a syringe. I'm actually getting used to it! I do eat a few bites on my own.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Our Mom is running way behind with my blogs! It’s so hard to get good help these days. MOL! Callie and I had our morning stroll. It was chilly, but the sun is out and temps should be in the low 80’s.

Mom left us alone to take our neighbor Abarna out to the shopping mall so Abarna could practice using her walker. She did really well. Mom took Abarna to her favorite shoe store to get some good walking shoes. Mom bought us some Wildside Salmon treats as a reward for being good cats while she was gone. Hooray!

We hope your pawrents have a wonderful time at the barbeque this weekend. Maybe they'll bring a "kitty bag" home. MOL!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Our neighbor Abarna is doing great. Mom is still taking Abarna out for strolls in her wheelchair, but sometime this week, Abarna is going to start using her walker. Abarna has a doctor appointment today, so if her doctor gives her a good bill of health, they can start walking. K. Uncle Buddy Budd suggested once to us that indoor shopping malls are a good place for wheel chairs, so Mom thought it would be a great place for walkers too. (CC furiends have the best ideas!) At least the ground will be smoother (and safer!). Although, I don’t think Mom can take a cat stroller into a mall. MOL! That’s okay- way too many noisy humans there for our liking. Plus we like our rides on the bumpy walking trail. :)

My sisters and I are doing fine. The weather is just right, in the low 80’s, so we’re all catnapping in the backyard. It has started to get kind of chilly in the mornings, but the weatherman said we’re expecting some more 90 degree temps this weekend. Summer isn’t over yet!

Hee, hee, hee! You had us all laughing so hard at the image of your sweet Mom terrorizing little Mitzi with a stuffed Grumpy cat! Poor Mitzi!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We spent the morning at the fabulous opening of CC’s very own Kitty Sanctuary. Queen Maggie and Queen Angel Ginger, along with several of our hard-working and creative furiends, did a terrific job on the project. The “Cathouse On The Queens,” as it was named, is so beautiful we wished we could stay there for a few days! Really! It’s just like a 5-paw hotel! If you haven’t already, be sure to check it at the Cat’s Meow Resort & Event Center on page 271826.

It’s only supposed to get in the high 80’s today- much better than the 98 degrees we had yesterday. We might even get to stay in the backyard a little bit longer.

Last night my Mom woke up with a start to the sounds of cat’s hissing, screaming and running like horses down the stairs. Mom jumped out of bed, saw Whitey and Orangie looking frightened by the bedroom door. More yowling as Mom ran downstairs to find me, on top of my sister Callie, while she screamed out for Mom. Mom pulled me off of Callie, yelling the whole time; then checking to make sure Callie wasn’t hurt. She wasn’t, but I knew that! Mom picked Callie up and carried her back to bed- where Dad was still sound asleep! That guy can sleep through anything! After everything had calmed down, Mom came downstairs to see where I was. I was sitting at the top of our tallest cat tree, still feeling feisty and swishing my tail back and forth. Mom talked to me and I finally jumped down. Mom isn’t sure what caused the fight, but she’s hoping I’m just feeling better. Maybe she’ll get the hint that I need more one-on-one playtime with her!

Give your dear Dad lots of feel better hugs for us. His poor mouth must be so sore! We have all of your precious family in our prayers my dear furiend.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Another hot day for us here- in the mid 90’s today and tomorrow and then it will start to cool down. Mom took Callie and me for our stroller walk early this morning. We had the trail to ourselves, when we saw a small doggie coming towards us, just trotting along by himself. He wasn’t barking and his tail was wagging. Mom was relieved to see he had a collar. Mom always carries a leash, just in case, so she parked our stroller off the trail and went to see if the doggie was friendly enough to let her leash him. He was and while Mom was trying to read his tag, we suddenly heard people yelling for “Bella!” Yep! The doggie’s tag said Bella on it with a phone number. Mom never gets the gender right. MOL! Bella was a girl! Any way, the people yelling were on the other side of the trail. The three mile loop trail is the one we always use. So Mom had to run down a hill (with Bella) to get to the creek and yell as loud as she could - “Bella is over here!” The owners were two teenagers who had let Bella off her leash while they walked. They said Bella never goes far, but apparently she must have seen a squirrel or something interesting. They thanked Mom and put Bella back on her leash. Callie and I waited patiently in our stroller, praying that no one would come by and cat-nap us! Mom assured us we were always within her eyesight. We had to turn around and hurry back home because it was warming up and Mom still needed to take our neighbor Abarna out for a stroll. Whew! What a morning! This will be a great day for cat napping.:)

Oh no! Your Dad has to back to the dentist?! We hope it all goes well. Give him a soft angel kitty hug for us and let him know we'll be praying for him.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Today is supposed to be in the low 90’s so we went out early for our stroller walk. Then Mom took our neighbor out for a ride in her wheelchair. The sun was already out, so Mom hooked an umbrella on the wheelchair to keep the sun off of Abarna. We watched them from the bay window and laughed at how silly they looked. MOL!

This morning my Mom was filling the syringes with my pureed cat food and I sat by the kitchen watching her. Normally I run off when she comes towards me so she has to catch me first. But today I didn’t. Mom got on the ground next to me, petting me and letting me sniff the syringe. I swallowed the first one like a good boy and Mom waited for me to run. Nope! I sat there waiting for more! Mom gave me my second one along with a big hug. Dad was watching and said to Mom, “Oh no, I hope he doesn’t get used to eating this way. How will I ever be able to feed him when you’re not here?” Mom isn’t worried. She just wants to get some weight on me with this prescription food and hopefully when I go back for my urine retest, I’ll get a clean bill of health. Baby steps Dad!

That's great that your Mom and Dad get to celebrate Labor day at a barbeque. Maybe they'll bring a "kitty bag" home. MOL! Chili Macs sounds yummy! Your Mom is a great cook!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Not too much going on here today. The weather was a nice 80 degrees so Callie and I got our walk in the stroller and Mom took our neighbor Abarna out for a walk in her wheelchair. Remember the little lost gray kitty named Pepper that we had staying with us for a short while? Her Mom called yesterday to say hello to my Mom and let us know that Pepper is doing fine. Mom is going to have tea with them next week.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Today with a high of only 80 degrees, it was the purrfect day for walking. Our Mom took Callie and me for our morning stroller walk, where we ran into a few of our furiends on the trail. The dogs that know us by now just bark once to say hello and then walk on by. We always fill the bucket by the dried up creek with water and we never forget to bring our bag of birdseed. Then Mom went to get our neighbor Abarna for a stroll in her wheelchair. Abarna brought a bag filled with breadcrumbs, so the birds and squirrels were really happy today!

When Mom came home, we were all catnapping. Mom always takes a head count before she does anything and this morning she couldn’t find my sister Callie. I followed my Mom around the house, checking the usual hiding spaces, but no Callie. So Mom started to panic, trying to remember if she could have opened any door, letting Callie get out unnoticed. By now her heart was racing! Orangie was asleep in the bay window and Whitey was in the closet. Whitey has a bed in the closet that she likes to sometimes catnap in. Mom shined the flashlight in the closet just to make sure Whitey was there. But still no Callie! Finally after tearing through the whole house, Mom decided to recheck the closet where Whitey was sleeping. But she couldn’t imagine Callie would ever get in the closet with Whitey. They just don’t get along that well! So Mom opened the closet doors to get a better view and sure enough - Callie was buried in a box filled with winter blankets in a corner of the closet! Callie and Whitey together in a closet?! Mom would have never believed it if she hadn’t seen it for herself! Now maybe I can get some peace and quiet for MY nap. MOL!

Now that's a sure sign of a pampered kitty- when you get to eat Fancy Feast, but only the flavors of your choosing. MOL! Gotta love our families!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
It was a nice 82 degrees here today, so my sisters and I got to catnap in the backyard most of the day. My Mom took Callie and me for our early morning stroller walk and afterwards Mom took our neighbor Abarna out for a walk in her wheelchair. Abarna enjoyed the fresh air and although the ride got a little bumpy at times, she asked Mom if they could do it again tomorrow. Now if we could only get our Mom to somehow push a wheelchair and a cat stroller at the same time. MOL!

Mom brought out the vacuum monster, so we took that as our cue to run back inside and hide under the bed. Since Callie, Whitey, Orangie and I always hide together under the bed until it’s over, it gave us a chance to catch up on our meows. Hee, hee, hee!

Sorry for the late meow today. Mom and I had just finished our every day special votes, when Dad called to say he had locked his keys in his car- again! Dad does this at least once a year. Mom had made him an extra car key to carry in his wallet, but Dad said he took it out because it kept falling out of his wallet. Mom didn’t even want to ask how that was possible. :|

We hope your weather cools off a bit. We hate it when it's hot and muggy! Awww, the photo magnets of Finster and Nosey sound lovely. Give your dear Mom a soft hug for us.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We’re having a very pleasant day today with temps only in the low 80’s. Whoo hoo! My Mom took Callie and me for our stroller walk and when we got back we joined Whitey and Orangie outside on the deck. I was shocked when I saw Whitey sleeping in MY BED! We each have our own cat bed in the backyard, so why she picked mine this morning is a mystery to me. I sniffed her a few times and then I did the polite thing and jumped up onto the doghouse for my catnap. Mom was proud of me. MOL! I’m still taking my medicine and hating it, but I’m over half way done. Yay!

My Mom took Sugar Bear to the vet for her rabies and booster shots. Today we all got our Revolution Flea treatments, so none of us are too happy with Mom. Tomorrow is supposed to be even cooler, so Mom plans on taking our neighbor Abarna, out for a walk in the morning before it gets too warm. Abarna is doing well and is looking forward to getting out for some fresh air.

Hee, hee, hee! That must have been so funny and cute to see Rosie sitting on Mitzi when she was a kitten! Thanks so much for all the magical angel dust and prayers dear furiend. You and your family are extra special!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Our Mom took Callie and me on our stroller walk this morning and it was considerably cooler than yesterday- by ten degrees. When we got home, Whitey and Orangie were in the backyard lying down in their cat beds, watching the birds in the trees. The birds are always very active and noisy in the morning. Callie and I ran out to join them. Our Mom reminded us to just look and not eat. MOL!

Our neighbor Abarna is doing well, happy to be home and getting lots of purr therapy from Ebony and Sugar Bear. Abarna is doing so well, her doctor said it would be okay for my Mom to take Abarna out in her wheelchair for short walks around the block. The weather has been much too hot the past few days to take her outside, but we’re expecting a nice cool down beginning today.

We're glad to hear your Dad put an extra handrail on your basement steps for your Mom. Abarna, our neighbor, has one of those motorized stair lifts on the staircase. Her son had it installed recently. It works nice but is very slow. My Mom tried riding it once and hopes her and Dad won't need one for a long time. I told her she better keep exercising! MOL!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Whew! It was a hot weekend here for us, in the low 100’s. Going outside in our backyard to catnap was not an option. Callie and I meowed at our Mom while looking out longingly through the sliding glass door. Mom decided to teach us a lesson and she let us out. We ran out excitedly, but made a quick u-turn around the deck and ran back inside. It was much too hot for our little paws! What was Mom thinking?! MOL! Whitey and Orangie watched from inside and had a good laugh!

We were so sadden to read on the CMR Mews, that dear Mom Janada had to re-home her precious furbabies, Queen Lady Dolly and Lollipop, but when we heard their new furever home was with two of our dear CC friends, we cried tears of joy! God bless Mom Toni and Mom Debby for opening up their hearts and their homes to our furiends. Today’s cat quote made us think of all our kind and wonderful friends on CC. We feel truly blessed.

Buddy better be careful to not trip your Mom on the stairs. My Mom always has to watch out for Whiskers on the stairs. He likes to do sudden stops when walking in front of Mom. Mom hasn't fallen yet, but has come awfully close!

Dear Angel Rhuby and family
It’s almost the weekend and we’re gearing up for a hot one. Saturday will be the hottest day. My Mom called GM in San Diego and found out they are expecting temps up to 107 degrees this weekend. Yikes!

My sister Callie and I went on a stroller walk with our Mom this morning, after I took my morning dose of medicine. I still hate the taste of the stuff, but one single dose, twice a day, is not too bad. I haven’t started to hide from my Mom yet, so that’s a good sign. I’m not real crazy about my new canned food, so Mom is supplementing my meals with the C/D food pureed and given to me via a syringe. I’m not putting up a fight, so Mom is hoping it might help whet my appetite for eating on my own.

Ebony and Sugar Bear are as happy as can be with their sweet Momma home. The two cats love to run up and down the stairs and around the house, but they seem to know to tread softly with their Mom. Cats are so smart, but we all know that!

We were so sorry to hear about your Mom's friend little kitty. At least we know the precious furbaby is an angel in Heaven now. The kitten was lucky to have love, if only for a short time. As we all know, so many cats are not so fortunate. We'll keep the sweet angel kitty and the family in our prayers. Give your Mom a comforting hug for us my furiend. We always have her and your family in our prayers.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My Mom had a long talk with my vet last night about my ongoing condition. Renal Disease was ruled out from the blood test results I received last week. The questionable calculi spots that can be seen on the x-rays of my bladder are so small and few, that the doctor feels they can be dissolved with the proper diet, in conjunction with another round of the single antibiotic. Dr. Natt doesn’t feel my test results warrant having to cut me open for surgery. She assured my Mom antibiotics and diet are our best option right now. Before my Mom left the vet’s office, Dr. Natt gave my Mom a grocery bag filled with samples of Hills Prescription C/D Urinary Stress canned food and a 2-lb bag of Metabolic+Urinary dry food. Both are new to the Hills Prescription Diet line of cat food and the vet said that one of her cats that is very fussy when it comes to eating her special diet, gobbles it right up. We shall see!

Our next-door neighbor Abarna came home last night. According to her son, Ganesh, Ebony and Sugar Bear played coy at first, but when my Mom went over to visit, both kitties were lying with their Mom on her bed and they were purring! My Mom was delighted! We all know a purring cat is the best medicine. MOL! Abarna will have a nurse coming by every day for a few hours. Her son had a key lock installed on the front door so that no one can “accidentally” let out the cats. Hooray! The side door is much easier to use since it has no steps and the kitties stay away from that door. The front door opening was always the problem- at our house too.

Many thanks to my CC furiends for all their well wishes and prayers for both Abarna and me. ♥

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My Mom spoke with my vet last night, looking over my x-rays very carefully. Since there are thankfully no signs of any obvious masses in my bladder, the vet has put me on another 10 day round of one antibiotic (a liquid antibiotic called Enrofloxacin). I’ll also be trying a new urinary stress cat food diet that the doctor recommends. My Mom still needs to go pick up my new food. Thanks to some concerned inquiries from my CC furiends, Mom will ask the vet if Renal Disease is a possibility and the obvious question- what IS the cause of the blood in my urine? My silly Mom always goes into a panic-mode at the vet, forgetting the important questions to ask. So she wrote them down AND she also emailed them to my vet. We’ll let you know what Dr. Natt says.

I’m not happy at all about taking more antibiotics. It has been over a month since my last dose, so I almost forgot about it. I knew something was up when I saw my Dad coming towards me while Mom held me. Yikes! But Mom gave me lots of hugs and kisses afterwards, so I forgave her quickly- until tonight that is. MOL!

Good mews! Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna is coming home today! Yippee! Her son will be bringing her home this evening. Ebony and Sugar Bear will be happily surprised when they see their Momma. My Mom stayed up late last night to make chicken vegetable barley soup - one pot for Abarna and one for us. Mom is getting good at making soups, since Dad has to be careful with what he eats while his gums are still healing. (Dad is still in the process of getting implants.)

Thanks again for all your get-well wishes, prayers and much appreciated advice. CC furiends are quite simply the best!

Oh, oh! You kitties better not snub your cat food. You don't want to make your sweet Mom mad! My Mom always tells us that cats are so much fussier than dogs and if we don't watch it, she just might bring one home. Yikes!

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We received an email with the radiograph report from my vet, but my Mom is still waiting to discuss the next course of action with Dr. Natt. The good mews is there are no definitive large stones in my bladder, but there are questionable pinpoint sized mineral spots showing up. The recommendation from the lab is for an abdominal ultrasound for further assessment of my kidneys and bladder. My vet, Dr. Natt, said in her email that she is leaning towards more antibiotics in conjunction with the urinary stress diet I am on already. So for now we wait until my Mom can speak directly with the vet. (Heavy sigh!)

I feel fine and I know I owe it to all the well wishes and prayers I’ve been getting from my CC furiends. Thank you all so very much!

Hee, hee, hee! You had us laughing so hard! Eating like you kitties are going to the electric chair! Now that's a good appetite! We love you all so much. Give your pawrents big hugs for us.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Happy Meowday! We’re still waiting to hear from the vet about my x-rays results. My Mom and I are hoping no mews is good mews. Dad says there is no sense worrying about it, but try to tell my Mom that. MOL!

We have good mews about our neighbor Abarna. She might be coming home as soon as this Wednesday! Hooray! Abarna had a good weekend at the hospital and is responding well to her heart medications. My Mom is so hopeful that Abarna will be coming home, that she spent Sunday cleaning and vacuuming her house in anticipation. Ebony and Sugar Bear weren’t too happy, but they sure will be if their Mom comes home!

My sisters Callie, Whitey and Orangie are doing fine. It was a nice 80 degree weekend and today too. My Dad started his first day of teaching school today so we were all up early. After he left, Mom took Callie and me for a walk in our cat stroller. We can tell summer is almost over because it was a bit chilly this morning. Time to get out the warm blankets.

We’ll let you know if when we hear from the vet. :|

You think I'm far too wonderful
To criticize or judge.

It seems your greatest joy in life
Is being close to me . . .
I think God knew how comforting
Your warm, soft fur would be.

I know you think you're human,
But I'm glad it isn't true . . .

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The weather here today is overcast with a chance of a little bit of rain this evening. Hooray! Not much rain, but beggars can’t be choosy! MOL! We were all inside catnapping in the house. Mom took Dad to another dentist appointment. Our Dad still can’t get his implants done until his gums heal completely, so the dentist fitted him with a temporary bridge to wear where his bottom front teeth were pulled. Mom says they look great, but Dad is worried they might come flying out when he starts teaching and is talking in the front of the class. My Mom had to try very hard not to laugh!

Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna has been responding very well to the heart medications they are giving her for the abnormal heart rhythms she has been having. God willing, Abarna may be coming home very soon! Yay! Thank you for all the get-well wishes and prayers for our friend. It’s working!

My vet appointment tomorrow is at 9 a.m. sharp. I’m not sure how long all the tests and x-rays will take, but my Mom plans on waiting with me. Hopefully they’ll let her sit with me, but if not, she promised she wouldn’t leave without me. We’ll let you know how it goes.

Aw sweetie furiend, your sweet Mom will never know what happened to dear Finster, but at least we do know Finster is at peace in Heaven and Finster was blessed to have been a part of such a loving family. Give your Mom a soft angel kitty hug for us.

Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
I went to the vet for my urine retest yesterday and we got the results back late last night. They aren’t too good. After two months of antibiotics for my UTI, the vet is concerned about the high numbers in my hemoglobin and red blood cell count. They went down compared to my last test results, but not enough. So we have two options; one is keep me on yet another round of different antibiotics; the other is to shoot some abdominal radiographs to get a better idea as to why I still have blood in my urine.:( My pawrents are meeting with my vet this afternoon. I’ll keep you posted dear furiends.

Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna had a good day at the hospital yesterday. She is responding to the new medications for the abnormal heart rhythms she has been experiencing after her bypass surgery. The doctors are hopeful. Thank you for all your prayers and get well wishes for our friend. It’s working!
~~~
Update on what’s next at the vet for me...
My pawrents had the meeting with my vet, Dr. Natt, about the next plan of action for me. It was decided it is futile to try any more antibiotics to lower the red blood cell count that keeps showing up in my urine samples. So Friday, I am having a full blood work up done, thyroid test and x-rays taken of my bladder. The vet’s office where we usually go, is not equipped for the tests I need done. My Vet has a second, much larger facility that I’ll need to go to. It’s a longer drive from our house, so Dad took Mom on a ride today to show her how to get there without getting lost.
I almost forgot - I haven’t lost any more weight, which is good, but I only gained an ounce. I weighed in at 10.6 pounds. I used to weigh almost 15 pounds! I really don’t feel sick at all. I told my Mom I’m at my purrfect fighting weight. MOL!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
A Note From Mom Mandy... I asked the vet if she thought it might be cancer, but she wouldn’t say. Dr. Natt said she’ll be checking the x-rays for any masses. It could very well be a tumor, or simply a cyst. She doesn’t know at this point. Plus the blood CBC and chemistry profile will give her a better idea of what’s going on with Whiskers. I’m a bundle of nerves and I’m trying not to pass it on to my baby boy. Whiskers seems just fine right now. I thank God for that!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
This morning when my Mom opened the garage to take Callie and me on our stroller walk, there were five raccoons in the front yard, probably looking for food. They had emptied the two water bowls and were milling around under the van parked in the driveway. Mom doesn’t leave food out at night. When Mom shooed them away, one of the raccoons stood his ground and growled at Mom! We were safe in our stroller. Mom had to pick up a broom and chase the mean raccoon away, all the way down the street. We feel bad for the poor animals, but we’re also worried about some of the neighbors’ cats that are allowed to roam outside. Mom doesn’t want to encourage the raccoons to come to our street. They’re cute, but scary when they growl!
The weather was in the 80’s today, a good day for catnapping outside. Today Mom got caught up with housecleaning. That included cat clean-up too -litter boxes, blankets and cat beds, and rinsing out our water fountains.
Our Dad has one more week of summer vacation before school starts again. Him and Mom went to his school today, to get his room prepared and drop off some school supplies. Tonight they’ll go to the hospital to visit our neighbor Abarna. Ebony and Sugar Bear are doing fine, just missing their Momma. Abarna had a rough few days, but her son spoke with Mom this morning and she is doing better today,
Tomorrow I go to the vet for my urine retest. I’m hoping for a clean bill of health. Not sure if I could stand any more antibiotics. :(
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We’ve missed meowing to our furiends the past couple of days, but we made it to Queen Maggie and Queen Angel Ginger’s Coronation and it was beautiful! Since it’s an all day affair, we’re hoping to make it back later. I’m never one to pass up on the delicious food at the Castle!
We wish we had better mews about our neighbor Abarna, who is recovering from heart surgery, but she has had a rough few days. Abarna’s doctors are concerned with the abnormalities in her heart rhythm. The fear of a blood clot forming is what has us all worried. The doctors and hospital staff have been very nice - very attentive and keeping us informed with what’s happening.
We are all doing fine. The weather is back in the 80’s so we’ve been able to sun a bit longer in the backyard, watching the birds and catnapping. We hope to see you at the Castle this weekend!
Oh no! Your Dad's coworker has a cat that needs a home? That's so sad! Well, if your family decides to take the kitty, he or she couldn't ask for a more loving home. Give your pawrents big hugs for us sweetie.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Whew! We had major computer problems yesterday so we weren’t able to finish our meows to all our furiends. Turns out there was an infected file in Mom’s computer, causing it to keep locking up! Mom found the bad file using our “MacKeeper” utility and was able to delete it. She had to reinstall the browser,“Google Chrome,” and while she was cleaning her computer I suggested she backup all my priceless CC blogs from our furiends. It looks like we’re good to go now!
Today the temps are supposed to be in the three digits (yikes!), but tomorrow it will start to cool back down. We hope you kitties can stay cool.
Aw sweetie, we know it's probably too soon for your dear Mom to get another kitty. She needs to let her broken heart mend a little bit longer. Someday soon she'll be able to smile again when she thinks of Angel Nosey and Angel Finster. Give your Mom a soft angel kitty hug for us.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Callie and I went on our cat stroller walk very early this morning so we could beat the heat. Mom filled the empty bucket by the dry creek with water and we scattered birdseed along the trail.
Our Mom visited Abarna, our next door neighbor, at the hospital and Abarna was having a good day. She had some family visiting her, so Mom gave her an update on Ebony and Sugar Bear, which always makes her smile, and then Mom left so she could make a quick stop at Petco. Mom bought us some freeze-dried salmon treats which we are learning to like. We miss eating our Party Mix cat treats, but the mean ole vet said NO to those.:( (Heavy sigh!)
Last night Mom got a surprise call from Pepper’s Mom. (Pepper was the little gray kitty that was lost, but now reunited with her family.) Her Mom called to say Pepper is doing very well and enjoys her mew cat tree. The cat tree has three tiers, the top being a small A-framed house for her to hide. It turns out Pepper likes her privacy and has been sleeping in the A-frame house at night! The little yappy dog she lives with is slowly beginning to settle down and accept Pepper as his new housemate.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We’re gearing up for some more hot weather this week. Today is in the mid 80’s, but by tomorrow we’ll be back in the 90’s and maybe even triple degrees on Wednesday. So no catnapping on the deck during the day for us. Thankfully we have A/C so we can all pick our favorite spots in the house and rest comfortably.
Our pawrents spent the weekend visiting Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna in the hospital. Abarna gave everyone a scare on Sunday when her heart rhythms became irregular, but the hospital staff has been closely monitoring her vitals and today she seems to be doing better. Ebony and Sugar Bear are doing great, always happy to see our Mom when she goes to feed them. Since my Mom is always gone for an hour or two, we’re pretty sure she is over there playing cat games and reading to the two kitties. That’s okay. Mom always spends time with us too!
Your Mom is such a sweetheart to be considering getting a mew furbaby. Wonder why his tail was amputated?! We'll keep our paws crossed.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We have some great mews! The little lost gray kitty is back with her family! My Mom had thought the little kitty was a male, but in fact, “HE” is really a “SHE.” (Shows you how much my Mom knows!)
Late Thursday night we got a call from a young man saying he saw one of the “Found Cat” flyers that my Mom had posted on the walking trail by our house and he thought it looked like his Mom's cat whom had been missing for 4 months. It was late, so we had to wait until the next day to meet with them.
Friday morning it was confirmed! The kitty is named Pepper and she is three years old. Apparently the Mom recently moved in with her daughter and Pepper ran away during the move over 4 months ago. Their home is less than a mile away from us! It was a heartwarming reunion. The lady was recovering from some sort of major surgery, so she looked very weak. When Mom put Pepper in her arms, she broke into tears.
The lady expressed concern about her daughter having a small dog in the house and she thought that was why Pepper ran away. We happened to have an extra cat tree for Pepper to use as an escape from the doggie. Mom and Dad drove to her house, set up the cat tree in her bedroom and told her the cat just needs to be able to escape somewhere safe from the dog. The dog is a small Chihuahua and very yappy. Mom advised her to give them both time to get acquainted, but NOT to let the cat outside for a few weeks. Mom also suggested getting Pepper a microchip, just in case. We are so relieved for Pepper and her family! We know all your prayers helped and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
More good mews- our neighbor Abarna is doing much better after her heart attack and bypass surgery. Mom visits her every day and gives her updates on Ebony and Sugar Bear, who are both doing fine. The doctors won’t say when Abarna might be released from the hospital, but her primary doctor said if she keeps improving the way she is, she might be back home late next week.
We hope sweet Ling is feeling better. Maybe she vomited from the weather being too hot? We'll keep her in our prayers. Pet Smart this Sunday?! Oh boy! Better get your treat list ready. MOL!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
I know it’s been a few days since my last meow and I have some good mews and bad mews. The bad mews is our next door neighbor, Abarna, had a heart attack and had bypass surgery yesterday. Abarna is the nice lady who adopted Ebony and Sugar Bear. The good mews is Abarna’s doctor is hopeful she’ll recover. Her son is staying with her at the hospital and my Mom is taking care of the kitties until she can come home.
Mews on the little gray kitty... Unfortunately, the home Mom had lined up for the little gray kitty didn't work out. The nice lady from Alley Cat Allies wanted to take him, but her husband did not. Apparently she is still trying to convince her husband. In the meantime, she will help Mom try to find a home for the little kitty. Since she is a vet assistant and volunteers for Alley Cat Allies, she has a lot more resources than Mom does. The kitty is doing fine at our house. He likes the cathouse during the day and Mom locks him up in the garage and backyard at night to keep him safe. Mom keeps checking at the local animal shelter to see if anyone has been looking for him, but no luck yet. If nothing comes up, my Mom plans on taking him to our vet for a checkup, vaccinations and to make sure he has been fixed. Mom hasn’t taken him to the vet yet because we really thought we would have found his family by now. He seems very healthy, so waiting until next week to see the vet should be okay. I also have my urine retest at the end of the month, so it will remain hectic around here for a while. (Sigh!)
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Mom and Dad were gone all morning, so us kitties had the run of the house. Dad is having major dental work done to have implants and a bridge put in. It is a long, slow process. Today he sat in the dentist chair for 3 long hours. Mom went with him for moral support and to drive him home. The dentist didn’t finish what he had set out to do, so they have to go back again tomorrow. Yes, the dentist only works on Saturdays for special cases. Our Dad wants to get all this over with before the school year starts again, but it won’t be possible. At least Dad will have temporary teeth to wear to school. Can’t have a teacher missing his bottom front teeth! MOL!
We are all doing fine. The little lost kitty is getting used to sleeping in the backyard at night and he likes to nap in the garage during the day. It’s in the 90’s again, so Mom has a fan in the garage, along with cold water and cat treats. It’s not too bad.
We continue to keep Queen Lady Dolly’s Mom Janada in our prayers, along with all our other dear CC friends.
We're so happy your Dad is feeling better. We hope he can rest this weekend. Give your family soft angel kitty hugs for us. We love you all and always have you in our prayers.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
My Mom got two calls in response to her “Found Cat” flyer. Mom didn’t feel comfortable giving out our home address to strangers, so she arranged to meet both parties at a nearby shopping center. So off they went, the little gray kitty and Mom on a field trip. Sadly, our little lost furiend was not the cat either family was searching for. We can tell our Mom is already getting attached to the little guy, but she knows he deserves a good home as an inside kitty. Thankfully if we don’t find his real family, he’ll have a new one waiting for him with the lady from Alley Cat Allies.
We hope your Dad is feeling better. Tummy aches can be very awful and can really tire out a purrson. We'll be praying for him dear furiend.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We apologize for not meowing the past couple of days. My Dad’s son and his family came to visit and they brought baby George. It has already been almost 3 years since my Mom flew out to North Carolina to help her stepson and his wife, after George was born. And this was the first time that our Dad got to meet his grandson! Needless to say, baby George is not a baby anymore. He is an adorable toddler and we all had a nice visit. They could only stay for two days because they wanted to fly to San Diego to visit GM. They’ll stay with GM two days and then head back to North Carolina.
All of us kitties stayed hiding in our bedroom while we had a little tyke running around the house, but the lost kitty staying in the cathouse in our yard, came out to meet everyone and even let George pet him! The little lost kitty is very loving and trusting. No one has called looking for him, but Mom is still giving it one more week before she takes him to his new furever home with the nice lady from Alley Cat Allies.
We're keeping sweet Ling and your Dad in our prayers. That's wonderful your Dad is getting a good deal on his dental work. The dentist bill sure does get expensive!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The temperature is slowly beginning to creep up. We are still in the low 80’s, but next week will be back to the 90’s. All of us kitties are enjoying the backyard deck while we can. My Mom opened the garage door so the little lost kitty can get out of the sun. Mom set up a fan in the garage to keep it sort of cool and she put a cat bed inside, along with cold water and Temptation treats. The cathouse in the front is great for sleeping at night, but it’s too warm to sleep in during the day. A couple of raccoons have been showing up in the evening, probably looking for water. My Mom was worried the kitty might get hurt by them, so she put him the backyard last night to sleep. The backyard has a cat fence to keep him safe. Of course after my Mom let the little guy back out this morning, my sisters and I had to sniff out the yard, trying to figure out who the new interloper is. MOL!
We hope your Dad's visit to the dentist went well. Our Dad has a dental appointment this Friday. He is still having the work done on his mouth before getting implants. Mom is going with him on Friday since the dentist said he'll be there about 2 to 3 hours. Yikes! My Mom doesn't want him driving home after all that.
That Percey sure is a rambunctious kitty. He tires us out just reading about all his antics. MOL! We're so glad Ling is doing well. We're keeping her in our prayers. It never hurts to pray for our furiends!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
It’s another overcast day in the 70’s here. We even got a few raindrops this morning! They dried up as soon as they hit the ground and got the cars dirty, but it felt nice. We went on our stroller walk this morning, filled the water bucket up by the creek and Mom put up more flyers for the “Found Cat” along the walking trail. No calls yet but we’re hopeful. When Mom fed the little gray kitty this morning, after he finished eating, he rolled over on his back wanting a belly rub! Mom couldn’t resist. He is such a loving kitty. Maybe too much! But he is staying in our front yard, either in or on top of the cathouse, or sitting on the front door steps.
I have been eating a little more of my new prescription cat food. I overheard my pawrents saying if I didn’t start eating more, they would puree the cat food in a blender and feed me with a syringe. Yikes! I don’t want that!
That was very nice of your Dad's friend to give him some cat food. Taking care of a pet with diabetes must be rough, poor little kitty. We're glad Ling is not sneezing anymore. What a relief for her and your worried Mom! We have all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The temperature was in the low 70’s today with lots of cloud cover, but no rain. It was a nice morning to walk on the trail by our house in our cat stroller. We always fill the water bucket by the dry creek and scatter birdseed along the way. The lost kitty was asleep in the cathouse when we left for our walk this morning. He peeked out and went back to sleep. It was 5 A.M. MOL! The little guy has quieted down, only meowing when he’s hungry. We posted a picture of him in my gallery. He’s a real cutie-pie!
So today Mom took flyers to the local animal shelter, rescue groups and several vets in our area. She also posted a digital “Found Cat” flyer on 2 websites for Lost & Found Pets. (PetFBI.org and FindToto.com)
My Mom also met with her friend from Alley Cat Allies and another volunteer named Christina. Christina saw the pictures of the little guy and is very interested in adopting him if we can’t find his real home. She gave my Mom her business card and seems to be a very nice lady. Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
The temperature was in the low 70’s today with lots of cloud cover, but no rain. It was a nice morning to walk on the trail by our house in our cat stroller. We always fill the water bucket by the dry creek and scatter birdseed along the way. The lost kitty was asleep in the cathouse when we left for our walk this morning. He peeked out and went back to sleep. It was 5 A.M. MOL! The little guy has quieted down, only meowing when he’s hungry. We posted a picture of him in my gallery. He’s a real cutie-pie!
So today Mom took flyers to the local animal shelter, rescue groups and several vets in our area. She also posted a digital “Found Cat” flyer on 2 websites for Lost & Found Pets. (PetFBI.org and FindToto.com)
My Mom also met with her friend from Alley Cat Allies and another volunteer named Christina. Christina saw the pictures of the little guy and is very interested in adopting him if we can’t find his real home. She gave my Mom her business card and seems to be a very nice lady. She works as a vet assistant and does volunteer work for Alley Cat Allies in her spare time. Christina wants to come by our house next weekend to meet him! Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Our weather has cooled down considerably compared to last week. Today we are in the mid 70’s and the rest of the week will only get to the low 80’s. Hooray! No rain predicted for us, but we’ll take the cooler temperatures.
The little lost gray kitty spent the night in our outside cathouse. My Mom made it nice and cozy with fresh bedding and blankets. He was meowing early this morning, so Mom went out to feed him and he quieted down. My Mom took Callie and me for a walk in our cat stroller and we checked to make sure all the “Found Cat” flyers were up. Now we wait and hope someone is looking for the little guy.
We're glad your truck is okay to drive around locally. My Mom knows all about the crazy nuts driving on the road. And they almost always have cell phones in their hands!
We hope your weather cools down. Hot and sticky is very uncomfortable. When it gets hot here, it's a dry intense heat. Tell Percey to behave! Give your family hugs for us sweet angel.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
My kitty is so funny,
he's always having fun,
everything is a plaything,
whether snow or rain or sun.
He chases all the pigeons,
and next doors dove,
he doesn't want to eat them,
just to give them a love!
His affection is endless,
a constant noisy purr,
he always wants a cuddle
my little bundle of fur!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
There was a cat meowing in front of our house this morning, hiding under our van parked in the driveway. When my Mom went to check it out, she saw a small gray kitty just sitting there crying. So of course Mom ran to get a bowl of food, hopefully to coax him out. The cat was hungry so he ate as soon as my Mom backed away. But afterwards, he stayed under the van meowing like crazy.
Well Mom had the cat carrier ready and she managed to grab the cat. Hoping he had a microchip, Mom took him to our vet to be scanned. The cat does not have a microchip, but his claws looked to be recently trimmed and he seems very domesticated. He never growled or hissed as the vet checked him over. He also has a small spot on his neck that looks like it was recently shaved. Anyway, the vet suggested to Mom to bring him back home and just feed him for the next few days. Mom took a picture of him and made up some flyers to post around the neighborhood. So Mom brought him home, he ate and went running down the street. Later as Mom was posting the “Found Cat” flyers, the kitty would appear and followed Mom around the block by our house.
Needless to say our Dad is not happy, but the cat needs our help so we’re not going to turn our backs on him. If he is still hanging around in a couple of weeks, my Mom will take him back to the vet for a checkup to make sure he is fixed and has his shots. We have the empty cathouse out in the front yard and there is also a cat feeding station, so the little guy won’t starve and he has a place to sleep.
My Mom is going to walk the trail by our house and post some more flyers. She is also going to contact her friend from Alley Cat Allies. This cat is very adoptable and deserves a chance at a home; if he doesn’t already have one. We have our paws crossed!
Whoo hoo! Your Mom stocked up on yummy cat food for everyone! Hooray for our Moms! We have our paws crossed for your Dad to get his truck fixed. It must be tough only getting one day off a week. Give your family hugs for us and let sweet Ling know we're keeping her in our prayers.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We had a nice 4th of July here at home. Fireworks could be heard going off outside, but our pawrents had the house closed up tight with music playing as we watched the fireworks on TV.
Sunday my Dad’s brother and his family came over for a barbeque. Since us cats don’t really care for company, we all stayed upstairs but Mom left the bedroom door open so we could occasionally peek out.
I’m doing fine, happy to be finished with my medicines. I’m still trying to adjust to the new prescription food. Mom is trying two different brands of the urinary care cat food - Royal Canin and Hill’s C/D. I seem to prefer the Royal Canin, but my sisters like the Hill’s C/D. That’s okay. My Mom says we can have both, as long as we all eat!
We're so glad to hear Ling is feeling better. I guess back to being a mean kitty is good mews. Hee, hee, hee! At least we know she's feeling good! Give your sweet family hugs for us and let them know we always have them in our prayers.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
This morning was the first day in over a month that I did NOT have to have any doses of antibiotics. Hooray! Set off the fireworks! Okay, we have more important things to celebrate tomorrow on Independence Day!
Have a wonderful 4th of July holiday, but remember - unlike people, pets don’t associate the noise, flashes, and burning smell of pyrotechnics with celebrations. Pets are terrified of fireworks, and often panic at the loud whizzes and bangs they produce.
Did you know July 5th is the busiest day of the year for animal shelters? Yup! The day after the 4th of July, animal shelters are inundated with pets that panicked at the noise of firecrackers and fled into the night, winding up lost, injured or killed.
CC pawrents know all this, but maybe they can remind their friends. With a little thought, they can prevent the holiday celebration from turning into a tragedy.
Great mews your pawrents got their truck back for the weekend! Bad mews it so much more expensive.:( We have to have a car too where we live. The closest grocery store is about a 2 mile walk. Not too fun when you're not walking on a nice trail!
We're so glad to hear pretty Ling is doing well! Try to stay cool this weekend and wear those kitty ear plugs on the 4th!
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
Good mews! Today is the last day that I have to take my medicines. Well, this evening will be the last. And now I get a whole month without that awful stuff. My Mom is already worrying about a month from now when I get my urine retested, but we’re hoping with my new prescription food diet that everything will be fine. Thanks again for all your get well wishes and prayers. CC furiends are the best medicine!
Last night there was a ruckus in our front yard. My Mom ran outside when she heard a dog barking and kids yelling. Two small boys had dropped the leash on their dog and the dog was on the side of our house, barking at the cathouse that my Mom keeps out there. (It used to be for Ebony and Sugar Bear.) The door to the cathouse is a round hole, much too small for most dogs. My Mom grabbed the dog’s leash and pulled him away from the cathouse. The two boys, whose Dad had come by now, were glad to have their dog back. They said he had chased a cat into the cathouse!
SO after they left, Mom peeked inside the cathouse and saw a frightened cat inside! She ran to get a cat carrier and Dad for help. With gloves on, Mom grabbed the gray tabby cat as Dad lifted up the roof, putting him in the cat carrier. Luckily the cat was wearing a collar! Whew. It took a while, but Mom was finally able to pick the little guy up so she could read his tag. His name was Cheeters and he lived nearby. Mom drove him home. Cheeters is an indoor/outdoor cat, but after this, the family is rethinking that!
Dad wanted to move the cathouse into our backyard, but Mom said no. That cathouse has been a safe house for several cats now!
Oh no! Your pawrents truck was misdiagnosed?! We hope the drug store is close by. We hope the truck gets fix soon my furiend. We have our paws crossed.
So your Mom's brother is coming to visit? That should be fun! He does like cats, right? MOL! Who doesn't?! We have your sweet family in our prayers and we're keeping Ling at the top of our list.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
This morning our pawrents took Callie and me for a walk in our stroller. It was 5 a.m. and already 63 degrees outside. We took water to fill up the bucket by the dry creek and scattered some birdseed along the trail. Our high today is supposed to be 99 degrees, but we are already at 98 and the hottest time of the day is still to come. We don’t have any fires near our house, but we can smell the smoke in the air from a fire burning to the south of us. We have our furiends in the state of Washington in our prayers. The news shows there are some bad fires burning up there. So scary and so sad.:(
My Mom has assured me my last dose of medicines will be tomorrow morning. Whoo hoo! I’m counting down the hours!
My Mom had to report to jury duty this morning, but only had to stay for a couple of hours before she was told to go home. At least the court validated her parking. MOL!
We did attend King Monty’s Coronation for a while this morning. It was beautiful as always. All our CC furiends looked spectacular and the Castle buffet was delicious. Cat Channel is still alive and strong as ever!
We have our paws crossed that your Mom and Dad get their truck back. You are absolutely right! A cat HAS to have his food. MOL! No thunderstorms here, but our GM in San Diego got some thunder and much needed rain. Not much but we'll take anything!
Tell Percey to be nicer to Rosie or I'll have to whack her with my paw through the computer! Give Ling a hug for us . We 're keeping her in our prayers.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel Rhuby and family!
We hope you are all staying cool on this last day of June. We are in the mid 90’s today and hotter tomorrow before it cools down. We are hoping no one is crazy enough to set off fireworks for the 4th of July holiday.
I’m still taking my antibiotics until Thursday evening and then I get a reprieve. My Mom went to the vet to pick up more prescription cat food today. The vet said she won’t schedule my urine re-test until 30 days after I finish this last batch of medicines. Hooray! Hopefully by then I’ll be a healthy cat again!
Aw, Percey sounds like such a sweetheart! We're so glad to hear Ling is feeling better. We're keeping her in our prayers. Give your dear Mom and Dad hugs for us.
