Thank you for your note about Sunshine. We don't like strange dogs, Sprinkles doesn't like any dogs. We also don't like strange cats in the yard but the people who let their animals run loose are moving away, most of the rest of the people around here keep their animals in their yards.
We had a thunderstorm yesterday and some rain today, and it has been hot and muggy. At least it's not 100 degrees out. How are you? We had a little excitement today. A strange dog came to visit us, a husky puppy. We're not into dogs, except for our Mocha. We cats weren't exactly jumping up and down thrilled about it, but at least he didn't come into the house. Mocha, our dog, would have had a fit if he did. This 5 month old Husky puppy sauntered into the garage and nuzzled mom and son. He was all over the place and with the traffic the way it is, we put him in the back yard so he wouldn't get hit. Mocha, our dog, was livid. You see, Mocha doesn't like to socialize with other dogs, she'd much rather socialize with cats. She did not want another dog on our property. He had a collar, but no tags. Mom and daughter took the him to the vet who's right around the corner, to see if he had a micro chip. Sure enough, he did. The vet's office told them to try a site called homeagain.com, which they did. They had to call them several times to get through and The homeagain lady said it was an AKC chip (American Kennel Club) and gave mom the number to the American Kennel Club. They called the owner and the owner called us. It turns out he lives right across the street. Mom and daughter met him on the street and brought him over to pick up his dog. The was real happy to be joined back up with his owner. It's a good idea to get your pets microchipped in case you ever lose them.
Also, Sunshine, the Goldfish, crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge today. He was 6 years old. We will miss him.
