good morning!
it's wet and foggy and drippy out there from showers we had late yesterday afternoon and early last night which kept janet from her after supper walk with natty. she's till not feeling to good, but got her garden inside the fence planted or just about and has to get netting over it before critters and birdies find their way into the fencing! sandy,ana,haley,angels

we know that....
in your part of the country the weather went straight from winter to summer and no spring hardly to speak of! now that's not nice is it. despite janet having the sinus-all-ergy bug she's working with it as her sick time is just about all used up for an injury earlier on this year late in january. she's okay now and has been since mid feb. and is hoping to hear from you guys a bit more, but this is the busy season! sandy,ana,haley,angels

What’s mew with you? I have WONDERFUL mews!!!! Dr. William called - my T4 by equilibrium dialysis thyroid test was NEGATIVE!!!! Thankfully that means I do not have hyperthyroidism.

I have decided that I really do not like to eat the Prescription Diet k/d canned food. I will eat the k/d dry but not the canned food. So Mommy has been busy researching other canned foods with low protein (less than 10%) for me. The crazy woman is also studying our food labels. Do I read the labels on all that junk SHE eats???

Tonight is my last dose of that nasty Clavamox for the UTI. After I have been off it for four days, Mommy will take my urine sample to Dr. William to be rechecked. Hopefully the UTI will be all gone.

Mommy & Nana have a meeting scheduled with Dr. William @ 9 a.m. this Caturday as they have a growing list of questions & concerns. Poor Doc! You would think they love me or something!!!

Thanks for the visit & the prayers. I am feeling much better, although I have decided that I really do not like to eat the Prescription Diet k/d canned food. Glad to hear that everything went OK with Timothy's poppa. Humans don't realize just how much they bend over until they're s'posedta not do it, do they? Mom had a tooth out once where the dentist cut up into the sinus accidentally, and she had to go 6 weeks without bending over. Or sneezing! Now, how are you supposed to not sneeze without blowing your eardrums out?? But she did it. Hope Timothy's poppa isn't allergic to anything this time of year because he's probably not supposed to sneeze, either.

We had a quiet Mothers Day around here, too. Our humans never really make a big fuss of these special days. -- Mallow

Thank you for your kind words, prayers & sweet thoughts. Like many of you, Mommy knows all too well about kidney disease. Her Dot passed away at the age of 17 from kidney disease & hyperthyroidism in October 2000. Mommy had hoped it would be a very long time before she was faced with this awful disease again. She will do her very best to give me the greatest care possible & lots of TLC.

I am eating the k/d canned and dry foods pretty well so far. Mommy says it is extremely difficult having one baby on a special diet. But we are doing our best with this situation & taking it one day at a time.

Thanks again for your prayers & concern. We really do appreciate it. Job 12:10 says “In God’s hands is the life of every creature.” We believe this to be true.

How are you? Yesterday I visited Dr. William for my annual checkup, blood work (CBC, 6-panel, T3 & T4), shots and 3-month Schirmer eye test. First the good news – my eyes are doing well. Mommy’s intuition told her something was going on with me, so now the not-so-good mews. I am in the very early stages of kidney disease:

My BUN level = 38 (normal is 16-36)
My Creatinine = 2.6 (normal is .8-2.4)

Dr. William says we caught this early. For now, we are going to treat it by changing my diet to Prescription Diet k/d. So far, I am eating both the k/d canned and the k/d dry food. We will recheck my levels in 3 months.

I also have a UTI, so I am taking Clavamox, the wonder drug. My thyroid level (T4) is in the “grey area” so Dr. William sent some of my blood to Texas A&M so they can run a test called T4 by Equilibrium Dialysis. We should receive those results next week.

As you can imagine, Mommy is very upset, stressed, & worried about me. Please keep us in your prayers.

Our Angels are rushing to catch up with Timothy's Poppa, to sprinkle Angel dust and watch over him during his surgery. Mom & Dad know some humans who've had that surgery and done really well, so we hope Timothy's Poppa is one more! Good luck house hunting! We had yet another pawsome day today. It was in the 70's and we got to outside when mom got up. There was a breezy wind, but not high winds, and lots and lots of sunshine.

Mom weeded her yard today and pulled everyone she could find and then she sprayed them so they won't grow back. Mom said if flowers grew as fast as weeds, her flowers would be in full bloom by now...MOL.

Mom is BBQing everynight now and we get to eat some too, our faves are pork chops and chicken, so mom usually makes a little extra for us...grilled food is the best.

Mom lets us stay outside til 8:30 or so then she brings us in and feeds us and we all go to sleep after that, me & Jesse sleep on moms bed with her.'

Them flowers are called *Daffy-o-dills* according to mom. Mom got lots of flowers in our yard, but she wants to buy more.

We've been studying the horses and have made our picks by the advanced scientific method. Eeny-meeny-miney-mo didn't work last year, so this year we're pickin' by the names. Of COURSE I want to come over for the Kentucky Derby tonight! I'll be ready when you pick me up and I am getting a big elegant pale yellow hat with black and yellow feathers and yellow roses. I am making some hamster rollups for snacks and will have plenty of catnip julips. We can sit on the veranda and enjoy the run for the roses. Mom hasn't studied the field this year but will have to watch the horses as they go through each one. Mom thinks they are so beautiful and graceful.

We are IN! Evie has a bee-YOO-tiful (so she thinks) white hat with a big brim and lots of roses all over it. Why, she even has a prancing horse sitting on top of it -- not a real one, thankfully. I tell ya, the Queen would be jealous of that baby! And Evie's been taking Southern Belle lessons from Sissy Lee lately, so she is all over those catnip mint juleps.

I have opted for my best vintage Harley Davidson leather newsboy cap. Whaddaya mean, that's not fancy? I have a chain across the front of it and everything! Shall I stick a rose in the chain, or would that be too foo-foo?

It was so very nice to hear from you, sweetie. And Timothy and Sebastien, too. I wish I could go to the races with you tomorrow, but we are flying back to Wa State tomorrow. The house repairs are all done and mom had two recliners and a mattress and foundation delivered from one of the local furniture stores, so we are going to be pretty busy looking for furniture for the rest of the house and going through all the items that were flooded and had mold on them to see if they were worth saving or replacing. Please don't worry about blogging, dear one. Especially if your blogger is busy selling your home and looking for another.

What’s purring with you? It is a chilly, rainy, & windy day here in southwest Mississippi. Our high temp is only 54 and tonight 39 degrees. Brrrr! That is very cold for us especially in May. Such strange weather we all are having this year.

We sure were bummed that Michigan lost to Louisville in the finals; mom was rooting for them! ND girls got booted out in the final 4 I think. They lost to UConn. Mom pouted and shut the tv off at halftime. Mom was working bunches of OT but now is free and is coming home earlier. I am happy about that.

We had something sad happen in our family; my big white doggie Eddie crossed the Rainbow Bridge last Tuesday morning. Mom and sis were crying a lot. Dad buried him in the back yard next to Angel Kitty Zak. We miss him a lot; he was our best doggie furriend. Mom thinks about him a lot and was sad all week.

Mom and dad went to the spring scrimmage game at the football stadium Saturday. It was cold but mom enjoyed it and they toured the campus after. It was a nice time and it was good for mom to get outside.

~Meows from Queen Trixie~
Today is a sad day in our nation as we have once again been attacked! I ask that everyone please observe a moment of silence for those that have lost their lives & to send prayers of healing to those that were injured during the terrible terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon yesterday. Gentle hugs & prayers go out to all the people of Boston as they endure the hardships & grief of this unprovoked & senseless attack.
Since this is a very downhearted time for many people in our nation I’d like to try to cheer you up with a couple of heroic doggy tales. The first one is from one of the dogs on DC & the other one is from one of our own precious feline families.

MAX PINKOWITZ is a happy 10 year old doggies that was very happy to find his forever home when he was 2. His mom takes him for walks a lot & gets to meet a lot of his doggie friends. Up their street live 2 very aggressive chi pups that weigh about 3 pounds each, which his mom calls ‘killer chis’. If they’re out with their mom they come running toward the street barking like crazy. Last year they were playing outside with their mom when Max & his mom were walking up the street. Max & his mom saw a car coming & then mom was stunned by what happened next! Max went toward the ‘killer’ Chis and blocked them from running into the street!! Mommy was so proud of him because sweet Max saved the chi doggies that day by preventing them from being hit I hereby present Max with the Queen’s Medal of Gallantry for keeping his fellow canines safe from harm.

This one is from EDDIE #153057. Once a few years ago when mom was on vacation, she left her motel room to walk about a 1/2 mile to a restaurant. The motel had a porch and when mom went out on the porch to leave she saw a large dog and wondered where he came from but took off as planned. She was curious as the dog followed & on the way they passed a field where there was a very scary man walking toward them. Mom felt safer with that dog right near her & the dog escorted mom to the restaurant then left. Luckily Mom’s walk back was uneventful so mom thinks that God sent along an angel dog that night to keep her safe & is grateful for God's care.
We’ll never know this special dog’s name but have to agree that this special canine was indeed a guardian angel sent down to protect mom so that she wouldn’t be harmed by the stranger that thought about approaching her.

I'm back, did you miss me??? We had no heat all weekend so mom stayed in her room with the oil heater and her electric blanket watching TV.

Our gas was off since late FRI night we guess. It was on FRI during the day, but we woke up on Caturday and it was cold in here, mom coulodn't figure out why...she checked everything and all the gas appliances would not work, so mom had no cooking gas either...she had to eat cereal and sandwiches all weekend.

DTE came this morning and figured out the trouble...the meter went bad, they said they installed it mover 20 years ago and it just quit working, so they took the old one off and put a new one on and now we have gas again...the man had to come up and light all moms pilot lights again, too.

Yesterday mom had to go back to the ER cause she is still blocked up..they gave her an emama and made her stay there until she went, so she was there for a ong time...did not get home until after 8pm, so mom was not in the mood to take us to hockey after all that mess.

It was cold all weekend, wouldn't you know caue we had no gas, it was only in the 30's with rain and dampness and no sun. Today it is 70* and sunny, but it is very windy out...we are in and out as we feel like going...mom left her back door open for us.

It's nice to hear from you. How was your weekend? Ours was nice except for those loud thunderstorms yesterday which began at 2 a.m. and lasted until after 8 a.m. We received several inches of rain & lots of thunder, lightning and wind, thankfully no damage.

Did you know that April is National Pet First Aid Awareness Month? Your first-aid kit should include phone numbers for your veterinarian, extra bottles of prescribed or packaged medicines (like eye wash), hydrogen peroxide, gauze, adhesive tape, non-stick bandages, tweezers, a small flashlight, round-tip scissors, and a topical antiseptic or antibiotic, plus clean cloths & towels.

Also, be sure to have your pawrent’s name, address & phone numbers attached to your carrier. Ever since Hurricane Katrina hit us, Mommy keeps a first aid kit & a hurricane evacuation kit ready for us, just in case. We never know when it might come in handy.

WAKE UP KITTIES!! It’s time to get cleaned up so we can head to the OKLAHOMA CITY ZOO!! (http://www.okczoo.com) I hope all of you slept well. I know I did even though I’m not used to the noise of a big city. I see that some of you have already bought souvenirs so I hope you brought a large enough bag to carry home those Native American novelties that seemed so popular…MOL! As we’re walking to the zoo I’ll tell you a little about it so you can get right to checking out all of the fabulous habitats.

The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is a zoo and botanical garden located in Oklahoma City's Adventure District in northeast Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The zoo covers 119 acres and is home to more than 1,800 animals. In 1902, the Zoo received its first donated animal and opened as a small menagerie. On Labor Day 1903, the Zoo had a formal dedication at Wheeler Park & celebrates 1904 as the Zoo's first full year of business. It is a fully accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Association of Museums as both a living museum and a botanical garden. The Zoo participates in numerous cooperative Species Survival Plan projects and is dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered wildlife. Awards include being named the Third Best Zoo for kids in the nation in May 2004 by Child magazine after an extensive survey of over 150 zoos belonging to the AZA. In November 2005, the Zoo was named one of five finalists in Microsoft's "America's Favorite Zoo" contest. In 2012, the Zoo was voted the Third Best Zoo in the nation by 10Best.com.

Now some of you may be wondering why I planned this on Sunday instead of our usual Saturday trip so now it’s time to spring the surprise. Today is the 2nd birthday of MALEE the baby elephant & the zoo is having a big bash in her honor from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with cake for thousands, party favors for guests and our elephants, and more! The first 5,000 guests will receive a pair of commemorative birthday elephant ears! The celebration kicks off at 1 p.m. in the Zoo’s Global Plaza with free giveaways and delicious treats provided by local bakeries. At 2:15 p.m. (a special time just for the birthday girl,) guests will want a seat at the free daily elephant presentation in the Elephant Habitat’s pavilion as the party continues. Join Zoo staff and News9’s Bobbie Miller in singing “Happy Birthday” to Malee and watch as she blows out the candle on her own cupcake custom made by Johnnies Sweet Creations! After the presentation, watch as all the Zoo’s Asian elephants including adult females Asha, Malee’s mom, Chandra and bull, Rex celebrate with specially made, Zoo-approved cakes courtesy of Johnnies Sweet Creations, in their yards. Don't be embarrassed, any time you can come by I'm glad to see you. I remember you saying Mom had jury duty coming up. I'm glad it only turned into two days instead of a couple of months like it can do sometimes. Of course, if THAT had happened it might have been a more interesting experience, mol.

Oh, yes, I fly too! I got my pilots wings from Q. Cherish back when K. Sparky was King, and I went for my helicopter certification last month. I love it! Thanks for the theme song, I agree and so does Zoe Monique because it's the unofficial theme song for the Hairballz Rainbow Riders. We still roll around CC celebrating special days with the kitties. We celebrated the Gang's one year anniversary with a Harley trip along Route 66. Pretty awesome!

I just got back from a trip to Colorado with my special guy, Sir Oscar Jon. We ziplined across the Royal Gorge, good thing he likes me for the tomboy kitty that I am! Now we're planning a rafting trip on the Colorado River with a few other adventurous types. Wouldn't miss the sailboat race, though!

Speaking of K. Sparky, did you hear that he crossed the Bridge not long ago? We're still sad about that, I really liked K. Sparky and he's the King who knighted Mike & I.

Well, I probably forgot something, mol. My humans are doing fine, too, living their oh-so-boring human lives. -- Mallow

Dearest Furrend Kieara & Family
Oh, I was so happy to hear from you, sweetie. Thanks for asking how my mom is.....about 3+ years ago she had lots of her colon taken out just like you, but she gets IBS among other things with the E-coli. It went on for months, but it's finally under control now the last few weeks. She is still on low-dose antibiotics for another couple of weeks though. Last month the Wa.STate house had a break in a ceiling hotwater pipe and it must have been running for 2 or 3 weeks before a neighbor noticed water coming out the front door. Everything in the house was ruined and had mold on it. The repairs on ceilings, drywall, etc. went on for 5 weeks and then the cabinets and countertops were replaced and the carpets went back in this week. It looks like we will be able to return near the end of this month. Mom ordered a new mattress & foundation plus a couple of recliners so they will have some place to sleep and sit while they get the rest of the furniture. The biggest problem has been going over about 63 pages of contents with over 600 contents and dealing with the Ins. Adjuster. Yikes. Would you believe that MY cat-tree and toys were full of water and mold, too. Mom had better have a new cat tree there for ME when we get there. I don't even know if I will recognize it becasue all the smells are gone. Woe is me. This is not fair.

I see your mom had jury duty. Same thing happened with my mom a few years ago.....sitting around waiting on the lawyers and then the case never went before we the jury. Boring.

What have you and the fursibs been doing? Did you have a mice Easter? I love the picture of you looking into the goldfish bowl.
Mikey and I are very, very happy and we keep pretty busy, too. Both of our hockey teams are in first place in the East & West.

that's what
happened too to janet's old '03 computer a new hard drive as the old one totally went if something goes with this one it's an all in one she'll have to call somebody to come and get it as she's not 'puter savey on unhooking the right things and screws things up just like that! we had snow on/off through last month till we started to warm up finally just before easter a bit and then it turned cold again for a few days and we did get a little snow. looks like old man winter/jack frost just don't want to give up with the last big snowstorm walda (named by twc) and more coming for upper great plains and great lakes, with just a few showers here. we did have 70s for 3 days earlier on this week and 60s then mid 30s of all things yesterday for a little while and 40 the other times. a little sleet mixed in here at the start of the rain, but changed to all rain. 60s this coming week with a few 50s mixed in. we love chippie, squeakie (squirrels), watching mostly sandy, then birdie talking me and haley. hoping we'll see a bit more of you to come. sandy,ana,haley,angels

janet too has been extra busy since mommy broke the same arm she's had 6 previous operations on since the 70s through 90s.

OF COURSE I would love to come over and root for your boys tonight! Mom did catch the end of the game against Kansas-dad had given up and mom said oh no I think MI can tie it up. .... and they DID and went on to win! Mom was happy for them!

Mom has me off line cause she is working every day into the evenings but she does watch my page and lets me do an occasional blog from her cell phone. I'll be there tonight but not sure if I will be meowing. Thanks for the invite!
